Part 51 Recovery

Khushi stood still, receiving the kiss. Arnav broke the kiss and looked at her, who was closing her eyes.

"Don't you feel like you, too, have the right in me?" He asked.

"How could I think if you are a Prince?"

"Don't forget you are going to be a Queen"

"I will think about it after it happens"

"Don't you believe it?"

"It doesn't matter. Even though I believe it, it doesn't make a difference because I will be the same"

"I'm not talking about your status condition. I'm talking about our relationship"

"Do you want me to show how possessive I am of you?" she asked.

Arnav was stunned. POSSESSIVE? And Khushi?

"What are you looking at?"

"Are you possessive of me?" he asked unbelievably.

"Like hell..."

"But, you never showed it to me and behaved like you don't care about me..."

Khushi switched her gaze somewhere else.

"Is that because I'm a Prince?"

She nodded yes.

"Ok, when can I see your possessiveness?"

"It's not a Taj Mahal to SEE..."

Arnav chuckled.

"It might not be a Taj Mahal, but I'm so eager to see that"

"You will see that when the right time comes"

"Waiting..." he smiled.

"Ok, tell me, what do you want me to do next?"

"I want you to kiss me in the same way I kissed you"

Khushi rolled her eyes.

"I'm talking about Ratna aunty"

"Oh... give her the holy water regularly until she gets cured"

"Why hasn't she gotten cured yet? I thought she would wake like an old aunty this morning"

"I, too, expected the same, but she didn't"

"Why didn't she?"

"I think her problem is severe. That's why it takes time"

"Maybe..." Khushi sighed.

"Be careful... no one should know about it"

"Leave it on me. I will take care of her"

"If you want my help, call me. I will accompany you"

"But why?"

"Be cautious, Khushi. We can't underestimate the Murthy family. They're more dangerous than we thought. We don't know what they're capable of. That's why I say we should be prepared."

"No, Arnav sir, they will not interfere in this matter anymore"

"How could you say?"

"It's because we agreed to stop giving the medicine. According to them, Ratna aunty would be cured only with that medicine. They have no idea about the holy water (She whispered as she didn't want anyone to hear). So, they will be carefree"

"If it is the case, no problem. Yet, we can't believe them"

Khushi nodded yes.

"I'm going to Ratna aunt's room."

"Mmm"

Khushi walked out. When she came to Ratna's room, she saw Lalitha and Sarojini with Ratna. Lalitha smiled at Khushi, and she reciprocated.

"Khushi, if you have any work, you just do it. I will be with Aunty," Lalitha said.

"No, I have no work"

"Maybe, but you are working hard for this family. Go and take a rest. I feel bored. That's why I came here."

Khushi stood silently as she didn't know what to do.

"Madhavi said, you guys stopped giving medicine to Aunty..."

Khushi nodded.

"She is allergic to the medicine. That's why the medical assistant asked to stop the medicine until her itching stops"

"Oh, poor she... doesn't know what she ate that led her to the allergy", Lalitha said, feeling sad.

"She would not have eaten anything wrong because it was Madhavi who fed her," Khushi said, as if Madhavi were a nice girl.

Lalitha and Sarojini spared a glance.

"You are a nice girl, Khushi. That's why you are seeing everyone from your perspective." Lalitha said.

Khushi smiled.

"But not everyone is like you..." She added.

Khushi struggled to stand her flatter. She smiled and left the place.

Lalitha and Sarojini smirked at each other.

"What are you trying to do? I can't understand what's in your mind," Sarojini said.

"Mom, we should not alert our enemy"

"Enemy?"

"Yes, Khushi is my first enemy, and Madhavi is second. We should handle both of them differently. Khushi can be dealt with a few flattering words, like I do now, but Madhavi is not an easy nut to crack. We should think like HER to defeat HER."

"Do you think you can marry Arnav?"

"There is nothing to think. I'm fixed."

"How are you so confident?"

"Wait and see how I will implement it"

"Anyhow, I will be happy if you become the Queen of this Palace"

"It will definitely happen"

"But, why are you buttering Khushi? Is it necessary?"

"Let her be happy for a while. She will never be satisfied and become my PERSONAL servant in a few days."

"What if Ratna gets cured? She won't let it happen."

"I know how to control her. Mark my words, if she gets cured, she will do only what I want," Lalitha said, looking at Ratna, who scratched her knuckle.

"My plan will be around this mad woman. I thought I would implement my plan if she recovers soon... but, it's getting late"

"Don't worry; their marriage will not occur until she recovers. Arvind himself told that"

"That's why I'm acting cool", Lalitha smirked.

Night

Khushi came to Ratna's room. She smiled at Arvind, who had just entered their room.

"Khushi, did you feed Ratna dinner?"

"No, uncle. She didn't let me feed her, but only Madhavi," Khushi said, feeling helpless.

"I can't believe this." Arvind frowned.

"Yes, uncle, she dined me when I tried to feed her. She ate from Madhavi's hand. It had never happened before, Uncle. She always eats from my hand. I don't know why she changed." Khushi intentionally said that for Arvind to think.

"I think Madhavi practised with the non-vegetarian food", Arvind said, controlling his anger.

"I too think the same, uncle", Khushi said, not showing her satisfaction as Arvind caught the point.

"Do one thing: You too should give her non-vegetarian food. Then, she will eat from your hand. In addition, we can understand that Madhavi would have done the same to get her under her control," Arvind suggested.

Khushi nodded yes.

"If Ratna starts eating from your hand after that, we will confirm the cause."

Khushi nodded, ok, thoughtfully.

"I will do that tomorrow, uncle," she said, thinking about providing a Ratna fish fry the next day.

"Yeah, from the time Ratna became mentally ill, it's you who's taking care of her. I don't know why these guys are suddenly doing that. They should have an intention, I suppose," Arvind said, even though he knew their intention. He just tried to get it from Khushi because he thought she might have known something about them. He thought Arnav would have discussed them with her, but Khushi was silent.

"What does Arnav think about them, Khushi?"

"He is cautious about them, uncle. He doesn't want to underestimate them."

"He is right. After Sathya's visit, I too was thinking the same because they didn't answer any of his questions"

"Uncle, did you check the handwriting in the letter?"

Arvind nodded.

"Did you?"

"I just did before coming here. I found an old account. I found the same handwriting in it"

"Whose handwriting is it, uncle?"

"Krishna Murthy", Arvind said, controlling himself.

Khushi was silent, as she and Arnav expected that. So, Krishna Murthy sent the message to Sathya Narayana. No wonder! They were doing many things against Arvind even now! Then, there was nothing to wonder about before marriage. Arvind also thought the same way.

"I don't know what I should do with these guys. After Ratna fell ill, I thought they would be my support. I thought of them as my people, but they never thought so. Their concentration was, is and will be on money and the Royal status. I'm really fed up"

"Relax, uncle... everything will be all right"

"Everything will be all right only if Ratna cures, but they brilliantly provided her non-vegetarian food and stopped her from recovering. How cruel these people are! Ratna is their own sister. How could they think of stopping her from recovery?"

Khushi didn't know what to say.

"Be careful, Khushi, they will even kill Ratna for their benefit"

"Until I'm here, it will not happen, uncle. Ratna aunty is a great woman. Her fate is that she is in this condition, but I trust God is doing all this for a purpose. She will recover soon because she never thought of doing anything bad to anyone. She treated me like her own daughter. Her heart is so pure, Uncle. She will be all right"

Arvind nodded yes.

"I will just come, getting fresh", Arvind said and went to the washroom.

Khushi removed the same small bottle she brought and tried to drink it.

"What is this?" Ratna asked,

"This is a magic water... didn't you drink it yesterday?"

"Mmm....(She thought) haannn..." she said excitedly.

"This is the same water"

"Will you give it to me?" Ratna pleaded.

"Sure... after all, you're my sweet aunt," Khushi said, extending her hand to her mouth. She didn't want Ratna to spill the water by any chance.

Ratna gulped it and grinned as if she had won the battle.

"My sweet aunt!" Khushi kissed her cheek.

"Go to sleep, aunty. Good night"

"Good night", Ratna lay on the bed.

Khushi left the place after Arvind came out of the washroom.

She went to her room and prayed to the Kalabhairava that 'Ratna should recover soon' and slept.

The next morning

Khushi got fresh and came to Ratna's room to check the condition. Arvind smiled at her.

"Didn't Aunty wake up?"

"Wake her up", Arvind said.

Khushi shook her shoulder gently and woke her up.

"Aunty... wake up..."

Ratna opened her eyes and looked at Khushi, who smiled at her. Ratna sat on the bed and asked,

"Who are you?"

To be continued...
