74 Destiny
Part 74 Destiny
Arvind and Ratna stood, shocked, looking at the Murthy brothers' lifeless bodies. They could not conclude what happened there.
The villagers started removing the wreckage.
At the same time, Sathya Narayana, who was relishing the Royal wedding, rushed to the temple and was taken aback seeing the Murthy brothers' dead bodies.
"What is all this? How did they come here?" Arvind asked, looking at the Pandit of the Kalabhairava temple.
"Your highness, they came here last night, and I was above to lock the gate. They asked for the key and told me they had some work here, " he said without hesitation.
"What work? Didn't you ask them?" Arvind frowned.
"I asked them, they said you assigned them some work..."
"Me?" Arvind was perplexed because he had not received an order. He had just permitted them to do the wedding work, but had not given any orders.
"Yes, your highness... I gave them the key as they looked after the wedding preparations. When I asked for the key this morning, they refused to give it to me."
Arvind was shocked. It had never happened before, because doing morning Pooja was a custom.
"Didn't you do today's morning Pooja?" Arvind asked the pandit with confusion.
"No, Your Highness... They ordered me to go to the palace to attend the wedding and said it was your order. So, I visited the palace for our Prince's wedding."
"How could you skip the morning Pooja in the temple? Don't you know it's a custom?"
"I know Your Highness, but what can I do when they told me it's your order?"
"You could have asked me the reason..."
"They said it's because this is Prince's wedding day."
"What the hell... as this is a prince's wedding day, doing special pooja is important... How could you go on with those words?"
At the same time, Arvind saw a man coming forward.
"Your highness, I saw them coming with a bag last night. Their gestures were so suspicious. So, I hid in the dark and watched them. They brought a sack to the temple. Switching the lights off, they went behind the KalaBhairava statue and removed something from the sack. I couldn't see the thing, but their actions in the moonlight, as today is a full moon day."
The villagers who removed the wreckage found some wires.
"What wires this all?" Arvind murmured.
Sathya Narayana pressed his shoulder. Arvind looked at him.
"It seems like dynamite wire..."
"Whaaaat? Dynamite? How did this wire come here?"
"Can't you understand, Arvind? It's their plan to destroy you and your family. So, they fixed the dynamite. The pandit changed the plan at the last minute. They would have tried to change the timing of the bomb. As the karma is a bit**, they fall into their own trap..." he said, looking at Ratna, whose face was pale.
She felt ashamed of her brothers. Were her brothers this cheap? They did many things to get into her good book, but she didn't expect them to kill her family. She broke down in tears.
Arvind looked contentedly at the Siddha temple pandit, who once said about it. So, was this the loss the pandit talked about? He blinked his eyes meaningfully. Arvind sighed in relief. He thanked god for saving his family from the evil.
In the meantime,
Arnav and Khushi headed to the palace. Khushi saw Arnav in deep thought. She knew he was thinking about the blast.
"Don't know what happened in the Kala Bhairava temple," Khushi said worriedly.
"Yes, we were supposed to be there when the blast happened."
"Yes, at the last time, the Sidha Temple Pandit asked us to worship Shivalinga before going to the KalaBhairava temple. Otherwise, we would have been there when the blast happened and we might have been..." She stopped without completing it with DIED. She didn't want to talk negatively because it was an auspicious day in their life.
"No, Khushi, he was not a Siddha Temple Pandit. He was someone. Maybe someone who came to protect us..." he said thoughtfully.
"What do you think?"
"Ghorakar..."
"I think the same, but how are you so confident?"
"Yesterday, when I went to Siddha Temple, I prayed that he would attend our wedding. He made the real Pandit sleep from attending our wedding, which was unusual. It's possible only for him."
"Yes, he is the man who wakes up early in the morning to do Pooja every day..."
"Exactly... he attended our wedding and stopped us from going to the Kalabhairavaa temple..."
"What would have happened in the Kalabhairavaa temple?"
"Let's wait and watch. However, the matter will be resolved as soon as Appa and Amma return home."
"Mmm..."
.......
The news of the Murthy brothers' death reached the palace even before the newlywed couple arrived, but no one talked about it because they didn't want three newly wedded couples to hear the bad news.
A few old-age married women circled the sacred plate to welcome the couple. Arnav and Khushi were asked to wait in Arnav's room. Arnav and Khushi were tense, not knowing what had happened in the temple. They roamed here and there without removing the garlands, as a custom to be followed before removing them.
Finally, Arvind and Ratna came to their room after taking a head bath as they were at death's door. Seeing Ratna with wet hair, Khushi asked,
"Aunty, why did you take a head bath?"
"We saw dead bodies... That's why."
"Dead bodies? Who died, aunty? Is everything all right?"
Ratna was silent.
"The Murthy brothers are dead..." Arvind said.
"Whaaaaat?" Both Arnav and Khushi asked in shock.
"They died in a bomb blast..."
"Bomb blast? How did the bomb get there?"
"The Murthy brothers themselves brought it..."
"Buy, why?"
"To kill all of us..."
Arnav was like what the...
"They placed the bomb in the temple last night, getting the key from the pandit. Killing us while worshipping KalaBhairava was their plan. They tried to change the timing as we went to worship the Shivlinga. That was when the bomb blasted. They fell into their own web... Cunning idiots. I should have been cautious when they asked my permission to participate in your wedding. I would not have trusted them." Arvind fumed.
Arnav gazed at Ratna, who was helpless.
"We don't have to mind about them. We will go ahead..."
Cutting Arvind off,
"No Appa, it's not right. After all, they are my uncles..."
"No, Arnav... They lost respect. They are not good..."
Cutting Ratna off,
"But we are... This is not about respect, but more than that. They might not be good. We don't have to care about them and follow in their footsteps. If we do that, what's the difference between us and them?"
Ratna was silent.
"We will finish the final rituals first, not for them but for us. We should not ignore it. They had been in this palace for years..."
"You are a newly married couple. You should not attend the final rituals. We will do it directly, taking their bodies to the cemetery. Or, we will hand them over to their wives..."
Arnav nodded. Arvind and Ratna left the place. Arnav looked at Khushi.
"I can't believe they didn't care about destroying the temple to kill us. Didn't they know it's a big sin?" Khushi asked disappointedly.
"They were cruel at heart. They cheated their mama, who gave them shelter. They tried to fool their sister. But I never expected they wouldn't respect God after knowing how sacred this place is!"
"That's why they got punished. I think, to punish them correctly, destiny had waited."
"I think one more would be there for the delay..." Arnav said.
Khushi became thoughtful.
To be continued...
