Chapter 1
-In Fox Clan-
"Ah, morning." Holly said.
She was always the one to get up first, she loved the morning breeze.
There was something special to it... Something, that gives her a good feeling, a proud feeling...
She became a warrior only a few days ago, and she loved the new life.
Not being controlled by another fox, that feeling, oh, how much Holly loved it.
She went out of the base to look for food.
She needed to be top-fit for the search that she was attending this year.
She only told FoxClan's leader that she wanted to become the seeker for the year, and today was the day the leader would make the announcement.
Their leader was Mecany, a dark red fox. She had a very kind heart but she was a very strict leader.
Holly's ears perked up as she heard a fox behind her.
She knew who it was before she saw it, due to her great sence of smell.
Mecany!
Holly turned around to look at her.
"Are you sure you want to do it? You will miss out on getting a student this year." Mecany said.
"I am sure, Mecany! I would dedicate my life for this tradition."
Menacy smiled. "You know, Holly, it has been a long time since I met a fox like you."
Holly giggled. "Thanks, Mecany."
Mecany winked at her and went back to her cave.
The sweet smell of bunny met Holly's nose.
It came from near her.
She sneaked up to the fluffy tail she saw, proceeding to jump onto it.
Her long, sharp claws dug into the bunny's meat.
Holly devoured it.
-Time Skip-
Holly came back with a few mice for the clan.
As soon as she came back, the leader got everyone to gather around the announcement rock.
"Everyone, we have a seeker for this year."
Everyone cheered.
"Please come up to me, my dear seeker." Mecany said.
Everyone was sort of shocked when Holly came up. The recent student, the little fox, not even fully grown yet.
How was she gonna survive this?
"Holly, would you like to say something?"
"Yes," Holly started. "Every year a fox chooses to be a seeker. These foxes are normally the big, strong ones, the ones that have been a warrior for a few moons already. I, Holly, have chosen to be this year's seeker, and I haven't even been a warrior for one moon. But have faith in me, I will come back! I will fulfill this task!"
The croud cheered once more.
"Nice speach, Holly." Mecany said. "We shall all wish you luck on your quest."
Holly bowed down to her leader.
"And it starts..... NOW!" Mecany exclaimed.
Everyone watched as Holly leaped off the rock and sprinted into the forest.
Her previous mentor, Rockslide, couldn't help but shed a few tears.
Holly was sprinting through the forest at top speed for a few minutes until she started loosing her breath. She stopped at a small pond to drink. This gave her all the energy she needed, and she started running again.
The sunlight shone through the trees, it was so beautiful.
But no distractions, Holly was sure other clan's seekers have also started their quest.
She ran out of the forest, her next task was to run across that field.
The cows were grazing, but they stopped once the little fox ran underneath them. They mooed in shock and ran in different directions.
Holly could see the mountains, but they were very far away. This journey would take a long time.
She came across a house. It smelled like food! It smelled wonderful. Holly wandered inside. There was a bowl of food.
Holly ate it quickly, along with some water.
She ran out again and continued her journey.
-Time Skip-
The fields came to an end.
There was a city...!
Oh no...
Rockslide told Holly that she should never go into cities.
But right now Holly needed to.
Luckily, no one was awake.
The light orange fox trotted along the streets, and that trot turned into a very slow walk.
Where was water? She needed it quickly.
Wow, had God heard her? When she turned a corner, there was a lake.
Holly drank out of it desperately. She looked up at the mountains, knowing which direction she should go next.
With new energy, Holly ran as fast as she could, and that brought her about 1 kilometre further.
-Time Skip-
Holly had been travelling for 2 days now, and she was really tired.
She found a nice grass patch in a forest, and she drifted off to sleep.
Back at the clan, everyone was worried about her.
But they knew she would succeed...
They just did...
They all had a good feeling she would....
