Part 11 Questions...

Suman went to the kitchen with baby Khushi. Khushi was about to follow them, and Suman stopped her.

"Khushi, I said you are not allowed to the kitchen. Let me show my talent to this little lady" he said pointing at baby Khushi who smiled closing her mouth.

"Ok... I won't do anything but will be with you" Khushi said.

"Arrey... Your principal is here. You didn't even greet him properly... ( he paused for a while, making both Arnav and Khushi embarrassed) I mean, you were in a funny costume that time. Just talk with him. We will be right back" Suman left.

Khushi stood awkwardly. So was Arnav. He could not conclude Suman. He didn't know what Suman was up to. He was sure that Suman knew about their past story. Then, how could he behave so casually? How could he leave his wife with her EX alone so confidently? Did he trust Khushi to that extent? How great he was! Arnav felt proud of suman.

Though he was happy about Suman he felt bad for himself. He was not that dumb not to understand what he missed in his life. How beautiful his life would have been if he had married Khushi...! How cheerful she was... How blessed he would have been if he had been in Suman's place... He would not even need food to live but Khushi's lively presence would have kept him alive. His life would have been cheerful and he would have been the happiest person in the world. He gulped the gland that was choking his throat.

He saw Khushi standing, looking somewhere, fiddling with her shawl. Arnav stood up from the couch.

"I'm happy about your husband... He is a nice man" Arnav said.

Khushi turned towards him, raising her left eyebrow angrily, like, REALLY?

"I'm really happy seeing you happy with him" Arnav stammered.

"Oh... Did you run away from me, predicting about my very nice husband that I'm going to get in the future? What a great sacrifice...!" She taunted, controlling her anger.

"Believe it or not... I didn't run away from you... It's my fate that knotted me with someone instead of you. But, I feel relief as you are in good hands"

"Just because my husband is a nice man, you can't be relieved. Because you have no idea what I miss in my life. You don't know what kind of life I'm leading..."

Arnav frowned, like, what kind of life she was leading? Khushi closed her eyes, sensing what she just blurted out.

"Are not you happy?"

"What will you do if I'm not happy? Will you come to me, leaving your wife and marry me?"

Arnav got stuck. Marrying Khushi, leaving his wife? He was driven off receiving such a question from her. Not that he was not ready to leave his wife but he never thought khushi would ask him such a question.

"What do mean, Khushi?"

Cutting him,

"I don't want to talk about it..." She said, making him more confused.

In the meanwhile,

Suman prepared dough for poori. Baby Khushi was sitting on the kitchen slab, watching him. Taking a little bit of dough, he stuck it on baby Khushi's cheek, making her giggle.

"Khushi beta, who named you Khushi?" Suman asked.

"Who else? My Daddy..."

"Why did he name you Khushi?"

"Mmmm...." She thought, tapping her cheek with her index finger.

"Don't you know?"

"No"

"Did you ever ask your Daddy the reason?"

"No uncle..."

"Do you know why did your Khushi teacher's father name her Khushi?"

"Why?" She asked excitedly.

"It's because it's his loved one name. He didn't want to forget her for even a minute. That's why Khushi teacher's father named her Khushi"

"Is it?"

"Yes... I thought your father also had such reason to name you Khushi"

"Uncle put me down"

"Why beta?"

"I'm going to ask my dad why he named me Khushi"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes..."

"Ok... Go ahead" he put her down.

Baby Khushi came to the living room and saw Khushi seriously arguing with Arnav. She didn't know what they were arguing about. They got alert seeing baby Khushi. Khushi smiled at her composing herself.

"Are you getting bored?"

"No teacher. I came to ask my Daddy a question" she said.

"Ohh..."

Arnav kneeled in front of baby Khushi.

"What do you want to ask me?"

"Daddy, why did you name me Khushi?" She asked making Arnav and Khushi bewilder.

Arnav looked at Khushi and was about to say something, but baby Khushi threw another question at him.

"Is your beloved one's name Khushi?"

Khushi looked at Arnav who gulped down. Arnav looked at Khushi and said,

"Haan... My loved one's name is Khushi"

"That's why did you name me Khushi, so that, you won't forget her?"

"I named you Khushi not because I should not forget her... I can't forget her. I wanted to call her name for my whole life. My wish didn't come true. She is not in my life... I want her name to be with me at least... that's why I named you khushi" Arnav said looking at Khushi.

Suman who listened to Arnav's reply from the kitchen smirked.

Baby Khushi rushed to the kitchen again.

"Uncle, you are right... My daddy named me for the same reason just like Khushi teacher's father did" she said, which was audible to Arnav and Khushi.

They understood that Suman was the one who made baby Khushi ask the question. Arnav could not understand why he was doing that. Why these two were mysterious? But, he was sure something was surely wrong. Though they were looking happy some unknown story was there between them. He supposed.

Keeping a news channel on the tv, Khushi went to the kitchen. Suman saw her and was about to say something,

"Just shut your mouth, Sumi... I don't know what I will do otherwise" she said with a glare.

Baby Khushi bit her nail, seeing her teacher's unknown side. Khushi smiled at her.

"Do you think she threatens me?" Suman asked.

Baby Khushi nodded yes.

"No no... She just does that for fun... We always fight for fun..."

"Sheetal also fights with daddy often but not for fun," Baby Khushi said.

Suman and Khushi spared a glance.

"Why does she fight with your daddy? What does she say while fighting?" Suman asked.

"She says you ruined my life. Because of you, my life got spoilt. Don't come in front of me. Get out of my sight"

Suman looked at Khushi who looked confused. Suman was about to ask her something, but Khushi gestured to him not to. She thought asking a small kid about her parents was not a good manner.

She helped Suman to prepare aaloo and pori. They bought it to the table.

"Khushi, you sit. You are a birthday baby after all" Suman made her sit and served.

Arnav ate silently with a lot of thoughts. Why Khushi was not happy with such a nice man? He did not doubt that Suman was better than him. Arnav was a possessive monster but Suman was not. Suman was treating him like a gentleman even after knowing his interest in Khushi. Yet, Khushi was not happy with him. Why?

"How is aloo poori?" Suman asked baby Khushi.

"So tasty"

"Am I a good cook?"

"Yes..."

"Thank God"

"Do you cook often?"

"We cook alternative days. Today is Khushi's birthday, so I cooked. Tomorrow, she will cook"

"In our house, Fatima chachi would cook but it won't taste like this"

"Is it?"

"Yes... Hai na, daddy?"

Arnav nodded yes.

"Won't your wife cook?" Suman intentionally asked.

Arnav nodded no.

"Doesn't she know cooking?"

"She doesn't have time," Arnav said.

"What does she do?"

"Nothing"

Suman raised his brows.

Khushi pressed his hand when he was about to ask Arnav something.

After finishing dinner, Arnav and baby Khushi were ready to leave. Baby Khushi didn't have the mood to leave their house. In fact, Arnav also... even though he was not treated by Khushi pleasantly.

"Khushi baby, you can come to our house whenever you want. Ok?" Suman said.

"Ok, uncle..."

"Won't you invite us to your house?" Suman asked.

Baby Khushi looked at Arnav as if she shan't know what to say.

"We will invite them one fine day," Arnav said.

"We will invite you one fine day, uncle" baby Khushi repeated what Arnav said.

"Ok..."

"Bye," baby Khushi said clutching Arnav's hand.

They walked out. Suman came with them to their car to send them off whereas Khushi stood at the entrance of their house. Baby Khushi waved her hand at Khushi and Suman. Arnav left the place not before glancing at Khushi. Suman came inside and locked the door.

"It seems someone is hoping inwardly in joy for having HER Arnav as a guest?"

Khushi went to the room silently.

"Don't try to be rigid as if you are not affected by his presence" Suman said.

Khushi walked to the room and sat on the bed. Suman came to her and lifted her chin. He was panicked seeing her teary eyes. In no time, she cried, hugging him.

"Why it's always me? Why I'm facing this horrible situation?"

Suman caressed her hair.

"He also not happy it seems", Suman said.

Breaking the hug,

"Why our lives are so hard, Sumi? What sin did we do? We didn't when think of bad for anyone in our lives..."

Cutting her,

"Then, what about me? What sin did I do? Why would I get such a cruel punishment?" He gulped hard.

Khushi had no answer.

"There's no answer to a few questions, Khushi. It's our fate. We have to overcome it. I know I can't say I'm here for you. Neither I can take Arnav's place in your life nor could I get a place in your heart because some people could not be replaced. They are special... Arnav is such a person"

Khushi again hugged him and cried.

To be continued...
