13-Zemblanity
Taehyung awakes to bright sunlight accosting his face. It's odd, because the sun doesn't usually come in through the curtains in his room— it's on the wrong side of the apartment— but then again, he's not in his room.
He's in Yoongi's bed.
Confusion quickly gives way to sheer giddiness at the memory of the night before. He takes his time recalling everything, biting his lower lip at the thought of every kiss, every touch. The look in Yoongi's eyes when he came down from his orgasm, the way he trailed his fingers over the nurse's lips in pure wonder.
Taehyung has never felt like this—so free, so happy, so human without resenting that fact. Not even when he sat on the tailgate of his grandfather's truck looking out onto the wide expanse of green pastureland with Yoonji at his side did he ever feel this content.
He looks to his right to find Yoongi curled up as much as he can be, his hands resting softly on the pillow with his lips parted. He looks like he could be drooling and the sight alone is so adorable. The nurse spends a few minutes just watching him, bathed in the early morning sun, his black hair shining with hues of red and golden undertones in the strands. He's so breathtaking like this. So—
A snicker quickly shreds through his train of thought. Taehyung whips his head towards the sound to find three figures standing in the doorway with eyes as wide as saucers.
Jungkook is clearly shocked, but his smirk gives away his true feelings. Seokjin looks positively astounded, just gaping like a fish, and Hobi quickly blinks away his surprise to whistle— actually whistle— at the sight.
Frantic, Taehyung covers himself up with the sheets. "What are you guys—"
"No one was answering the door so we let ourselves in. It's two in the afternoon," Jungkook supplies helpfully with a wicked grin. "Did you let him ride you like I suggested?"
With a squeak, Seokjin smacks the therapist upside the head. "Jeon Jungkook! Don't be so vulgar."
Hobi laughs at the antics but quickly turns his attention back to Taehyung. "Sorry about this," he laments with a shrug. "I think we're all kind of in shock. I'm curious though, did you guys just go for it or was there like some doctor roleplay first? You know, like 'Doctor, it hurts.... down here'—"
The man is thankfully silenced by another well-placed smack from Seokjin.
"Ow!"
Taehyung is ready to evaporate into thin air. His face is burning with embarrassment and he can only imagine how "professional" this looks.
"Would all of you shut the fuck up? I'm trying to sleep!" Yoongi's raspy voice is muffled by the sheets but it doesn't lose its effect. Everyone goes silent. Taehyung arches a brow in confusion. His patient still looks like he's sleeping soundly.
No one dares to move.
"If you don't leave right now, I'll make sure all of you end up in wheelchair." Yoongi doesn't even open his eyes as he says this.
Like insects, the employees scatter, and even Taehyung makes to leave, uncertain about what his role is now, but a hand darts out to stop him, circling around his wrist.
Yoongi is grinning into his pillow with eyes still closed. "Not you. You stay."
The nurse can't help but grin back.
They spend the next hour tangled up together, kissing languidly as if they've got nothing but time.
————
Not once in four years has Yoongi's father ever shared a meal with him in the apartment, but today is unusual in many ways.
For one, Yoongi is actually in a good mood. It's not just one of his better days where things piss him off a little less, and he manages to enjoy the menial routines he's constructed throughout the years.
No, he's actually happy.
Like singing in the shower, marveling at the weather, smiling at everything kind of happy. The very same kind that radiates from all those couples in the ridiculously sappy dramas Taehyung likes to watch at night.
And for once, Yoongi understands.
Now that they've not just crossed the line but leaped over it, it's hard to quell these feelings bubbling up in him. He likes Taehyung— like a lot. More than all those unattainable jocks in high school, more than his hapless dates when he first got to college, and definitely more than all those one-night stands when he became numb to the world and spent his nights in a hazy blur.
And dare he say it, he may like his nurse more than Jimin. In a romantic way of course. He could never really survive without his best friend.
Because Taehyung is a reality, not a fantasy. Taehyung isn't perfect— he still won't cut his hair, he's lost at least three tubes of that coveted cherry chapstick in the couch, he plays his music too loud at night and he puts Yeontan in outfits every day.
Today the dog is a vampire.
It's spring.
But Taehyung, for all his weird quirks, seems to really care about Yoongi. He listens intently, always tries to make sure his patient is comfortable, doesn't rush him in areas of emotional development, and respects Yoongi in a way that is honestly unprecedented.
And Yoongi, though he never says so out loud, thinks Taehyung's hair is cute, doesn't mind finding those tubes of chapstick in the cushions, is starting to like retro American pop music or long concertos, and Yeontan makes an adorable vampire.
Fuck..... he's so far gone. He's such a sap.
Which is why he's loathe to have his father over for lunch because he knows his mood will go to shit afterwards, but they definitely have some things to talk about. As usual, the atmosphere is terse and neither one of them really cares that they're here, but Yoongi has an agenda despite the discomfort.
"I received your email regarding the surgery."
His father takes a sip of the mimosa Seokjin prepared to go with the meal. "Ah, I'm glad to hear it. I wasn't sure if my secretary got the information compiled in time."
"You registered me for a surgery without my consent," Yoongi bites out. His own food is untouched on the table in front of him.
His father looks up at this, one thick brow cocked while the rest of his face remains stern. "I was under the impression that you were willing to cooperate whenever I did not hear from you after our last visit."
"So my silence on the matter automatically means I consent to a risky medical procedure on my body?" Honestly, it's ridiculous that this is even an issue. Something like this should've never happened.
"Yoongi," his father sighs heavily, setting down his chopsticks. "We both know what route you would've chosen. It would be absolutely absurd of you to refuse this operation. You have a chance to walk again, don't you want that?"
"You want that, Abeonim," Yoongi retorts. "You want to make sure you have an heir that you can show off to all the ass-kissers who invest in you and you want that heir not to be an embarrassing invalid in a wheelchair. That's what this is really about."
His father has the audacity to look affronted. "I want you back as my son, Yoongi."
"My bloodline hasn't changed. What's stopping you from claiming me now?"
"Your heritage is the same but you have changed. You think it's easy for me to see you like this?" The man gestures towards Yoongi's chair. "This isn't the boy I raised. I raised you to survive, to adapt. I raised you to be strong, Songwol-ah."
The nickname spears Yoongi right through the heart. It's the first time he's heard it in nearly a decade. He looks up to search his father's eyes, hoping to see a semblance of the man from his childhood, the man who bandaged his scraped knees and who took him for ice cream on hot summer days, but all he sees reflected in his father's dark gaze is himself, sitting in a wheelchair— an obvious disappointment.
You don't want me, he wants to argue, if you wanted me you wouldn't have hit me for being me, you wouldn't have shunned me. If you wanted me now, I wouldn't have to give up everything for you to care.
But he doesn't say these things, at a loss for words at the sudden memories flooding his mind. Instead, Yoongi looks at his plate, wishing he was anywhere but here with this ghost of a parent, this father he lost a long time ago.
Clearing his throat, Yoongi's father begins to speak, his voice filled with an emotion that Yoongi was certain he would never hear again. "Yoongi, I know I haven't always been there for you— as you've made it very difficult for me to be— but I do want what is best for you. Even if I don't agree with your preferences, do you honestly think anyone would want you in this state? Sure, you may find someone that is good at feigning that they care, but what do you honestly have to offer them?"
At this, Yoongi begins to frown deeply. He puts his hands in his lap and squeezes his fists together until his nails begin to bite into the flesh. His father doesn't notice.
"You work from home because of this injury. You can't just decide to walk outside whenever you want or travel. You can't hope to stroll along the beach or run through the park with your future children. Imagine all the things you can't do now and then imagine that you're dooming someone else to that same life. That, my son, is making a decision for someone else without their consent, because no one you involve yourself with will ever have the capability to understand what they're getting into. It's just... borrowed time for them."
"You have no idea what you're talking about," Yoongi snaps. He stares down his father and refuses to look away.
How dare this man who abused him, shamed him, humiliated him, and disowned him say such things? What gave him the right?
"I think I have a wonderful understanding. You've crippled me, Yoongi. I always admired Jun Ki, but you were my pride and joy. From a young age, you were so intelligent, so observant. You had that wonder in your eyes that I had when I first founded this company— the notion that anything is possible if you believe. And when you pursued music production, I'll admit I was dissapointed, but you were making your own way in the world. You were surviving. Dare I say it, I was proud of you. So much so that I planned something special for your twenty-second birthday, but it never came to fruition."
Stunned, Yoongi opens his mouth to speak, but is cut off by a wave of his father's hand.
"As you know, Min Incorporated has absorbed several other companies over the years, and about four years ago, I lead the takeover of a small production company formerly known as JQ Entertainment, which is no longer active. I intended for you to spearhead the project to start it up again and then take the place as active CEO until such time as you would replace me at M.I. after retirement."
"A music production company?" Yoongi questions, eyes wide in disbelief. "You actually bought one of those?"
"Some of our technology is utilized in production equipment, so it wasn't that far of a stretch."
Yoongi blinks, incredulous. Could he really be hearing this correctly? His father had never even offered something like this to Jun Ki. "For me? Why didn't you tell me this until now?"
"Songwol-ah, you're in no position to lead a company like that now," his father explains with a small chuckle.
Biting his tongue, Yoongi soaks in these words. Even though his father is an asshole, he knows it's true. As he is, he could never be active CEO, let alone put in all the work it would take to start up a company like that. There would be meetings almost daily, required trips overseas to rouse interest in investors, numerous public appearances, and so much more. An able-bodied person would quickly become exhausted with so much responsibility, but him— He would buckle under the weight almost immediately. He physically would not be able to handle it.
"Do you understand now why I have pushed this operation on you? Yes, it's risky, but how much of your life are you risking just sitting here day in and day out with no one but your employees to keep you company? Surely that's no life for you. Surely you can't be happy like this."
But I am happy, Yoongi wants to reply, but the words get stuck in his throat. He has more than his father knows, more than he can understand, but how much longer will he be satisfied with doing what he's done for the last four years?
A grim thought enters his mind.
How much longer will Taehyung be satisfied with him?
His father is right; Yoongi will never lead a life like Taehyung, will never be able to chase after Yeontan with the nurse in the park, or walk any kids he may have into school. They'll always have to call ahead to places to check if the location is wheelchair accessible, if the bathrooms have railings or else Taehyung will have to help him. He'll never be able to tease his lover into chasing him down the hall before he pulls Taehyung into their bed and wraps his legs around his waist. All these little things that everyone else takes for granted— He'll never have any of them.
Why would someone put up with that, even if they really cared?
The thing is, Taehyung shouldn't have to live like that and neither should Yoongi.
"Ah, the office just messaged me," Yoongi's father exclaims suddenly, looking at his phone. "I really should be going. I'll have the flight information for the surgery sent to you. I've taken the liberty of also procuring a seat for your caretaker, whether that be Jimin-ah or.... the new one. We'll be flying first class, of course."
"We?"
"This is a big moment in your life, of course I'm going to be in attendance."
Yoongi sits there in shock. He hears his father wish him a rushed goodbye, hears Taehyung politely usher the man out, but he doesn't move.
His father is taking time off to come with him for the surgery. His father acknowledged him as a son, a fit heir in mind and— hopefully soon— in body. He called him by the pet name from his childhood and he expressed genuine, albeit somewhat insulting, concern about his future.
Could it be that his father still cared for him underneath that crass exterior? Was the abuse from all those years ago just hiding a man who was terrified of losing his son to outside influences? Could this be the reemergence of the same man from all those years ago, holding onto Yoongi's small bike as he rode for the first time?
Could it be that everything he's ever wanted is right in front of him?
—————
Taehyung can tell something is bothering his patient, but he doesn't want to be too pushy. Over the last few days, the nurse has let Yoongi have his space to think over their night of intimacy, to fully comprehend their quickly developing relationship, and it seems to have been the right choice.
Yoongi hasn't blown up on him or picked a fight. He seems perfectly fine with the situation, though a little timid. It's a strange look on the elder, all those blushing cheeks and nervous glances, but he likes it.
He likes it so much when Yoongi wants to sit by him on the couch, where their bodies touch and their hands brush whenever they move. He likes when Yoongi's eyes linger on him while the nurse dresses him. He likes the stolen little kisses he gets at seemingly random moments, like wheeling Yoongi down to the therapy room and his patient grabbing at him for a quick peck before he goes in.
In all honesty, he expects things to be awkward, especially since the rest of the employees know about them, but it's not. It's just a pleasant haze of affection where there once wasn't, a steady and consistent presence by his side where he never thought anyone could fit.
It's intimacy in the smallest things— Yoongi asking for a bite off Taehyung's plate and the nurse feeding it to him. It's lying on the couch watching the same drama episode because he keeps dozing off with his head on Yoongi's lap, feeling those long fingers card through his hair. It's waking up to find his patient already out of bed and sharing a cup of coffee with Hobi while Yeontan sits curled up in his lap.
It's getting a text in the middle of the night and crawling into bed and breaking so many rules by running his hands all over Yoongi's sensitive body. It's kissing him breathless and falling asleep only to wake up to the elder making tiny ponytails in his hair.
It's....
Love.
He would know because he had something similar with Yoonji.
Similar, but not the same.
Today though, Yoongi is in a sour mood, grumbling around the house and just keeping to himself. Despite this being his default mood, Taehyung has only seen him happy recently, so he knows something is amiss. He knows it has everything to do with the lunch he had with his father.
But just because he knows why his patient is upset doesn't mean Taehyung knows what to do about it.
When Yoongi snaps at Jungkook at the end of their therapy session and then goes and locks himself in his studio, the nurse is at a loss for what to do. He spends the next hour or so in the kitchen watching Seokjin work, before the silence becomes too much apparently.
"You're a moron just as much as a Yoongi, you know" the chef proclaims, rolling his eyes. "You really can't just communicate with him, can you? You two really are perfect for each other."
Taehyung leans against the breakfast bar and rests his head in his hand. "Huh? Oh, I'm sorry, hyung. I just— I know he's upset about something that happened with his father at lunch but I don't want to pry too much, you know?"
"Ah, knowing him, he'll come to you on his own time," Seokjin assures with a confident hum. "It's best not to push him, but you already know that. My suggestion would be to show him that you've noticed his unease but not ask about anything in particular. Just do something nice for him with no expectations for him to open up."
Taehyung perks up at the suggestion and watches the chef plate some particularly saucy japchae."Wow, I didn't really think of doing something like that. Do you think it will work?"
"Works for my girlfriend."
"You have a girlfriend, hyung?" Now, Taehyung is thoroughly invested in the conversation, leaning on his forearms to peer up at Seokjin.
The chef grins, obviously proud. "Yeah, we've been dating for two years. She doesn't live here though. Foreigner."
"Ah, that must be hard."
"It's only hard if you make it hard," Seokjin states with a wistful sigh. He pushes the japchae in front of Taehyung and drums his fingers along the marble countertop. "Chloe and I— Well, we're a lot alike in some ways, but we're different in the ways it counts. Some people would call that a recipe for disaster, but luckily, I'm a chef, so...."
It takes Taehyung a few seconds to realize that the elder doesn't intend on finishing his sentence. "Was that— That was a joke, right?"
"Yes, Taehyungie, that was supposed to make you laugh," Seokjin replies, amused. "What I'm trying to say is that people are always going to be difficult. You can be a saint and there is someone in the world you won't get along with. The way I see it, if you find someone you really care about and they care about you, it's worth it to work with the flaws, with the doubt and the difficult days, because chances are, they're working with yours too, and that, little nurse, is what we call love."
Taehyung grins. "Corae is a lucky woman."
"It's Chlo-ee," Seokjin corrects with a smirk. "I'll have to help you with your English sometime.... Maybe with your cooking too? I tried one of those cookies you made for hyung the other day. You're lucky you're good-looking."
Seokjin is immediately silenced when an oven mitt is promptly thrown in his face.
Taehyung cackles.
—————
When Seokjin suggested he do something nice for Yoongi without expectations, he was certain he could come up with something, no problem. But now that he's here, in the bathroom with the large jacuzzi tub filled with steaming, scented bath water, he's not so sure.
Does Yoongi even like baths? Taehyung himself loves baths, especially after a long, stressful day, so the elder should like one too, right? Who doesn't like baths with sweet-smelling oil, candles, and soft jazz?
Granted, the oil is from Jimin's room which means it's sexy oil, the candles are proclaimed to have "aphrodiasical" properties, and the jazz music sounds like something from a late 70's porno, so maybe Taehyung is completely inept at this....
"Expecting some alone time tonight?"
Taehyung whips his head over to the doorway where Yoongi is sitting, looking the scene over with obvious amusement.
"It's a little over the top for a good self-love session, but I'm not judging," his patient teases, a smile pulling on his lips.
"No, no," the nurse protests, "it's for you!"
Yoongi frowns. "For me? Why?"
"You were... upset earlier, so I thought I would do something nice for you," Taehyung explains, gesturing around sheepishly. He hopes this works. He hopes his patient will see the thought behind it and not assume that Taehyung is trying to belittle him in some manner.
"By drawing me a bath that smells like—" Yoongi pauses to sniff the air, "strawberry champagne? With candles and baby-making music?"
Oh shit. Taehyung has severely miscalculated.
"It's not like that, hyung, I swear—"
Yoongi snickers at the nurse's panic. "You know you can't actually knock me up, right? The music is a little overkill."
"Hyung, this is not what it looks like. It's supposed to be soothing, you know? Soothing since you had a bad day. But I'm sorry and I'll just—"
Taehyung is interrupted by Yoongi rolling into the bathroom and coming to a stop right in front of him.
"You really did this because I was upset?"
"Yeah...."
Nodding, Yoongi seems to consider this. "And you were just going to let me take a bath in here and leave me alone to relax?"
Taehyung swallows hard. "Yeah."
"That's... really nice of you, Tae." Yoongi smiles then, all gums and small teeth and the nurse feels himself falling hard all over again.
"T-Thank you. So do you want it still? Because I really want you to relax so..." Taehyung trails off, awkwardly standing in the middle of the bathroom with his patient staring at him expectantly.
A few heartbeats pass before Yoongi reaches out to run his hand over the nurse's shirt. "I do want it," he assures, "but do you know how I like my baths?"
Oh, Taehyung is nearly quivering from the low timber of his patient's voice. "H-How?"
Yoongi smirks. "With you in them."
And that's how Taehyung finds himself submerged in that steaming tub, with Yoongi sitting between his legs, resting his head back against the nurse's shoulder. They decided to keep the music on as white noise while they enjoy their bath.
Never in a million years would Taehyung have ever thought he would be in this position. Sure, he and Yoonji had been intimate, but it was only so far as teenage lust can allow. When he envisioned being in another relationship after she had passed, it was never like this— never so subtle in its eroticism, blurred with emotion around the edges. Holding Yoongi's bare body against him is bliss, but feeling this man in his arms and comforting him is even more so.
He loves that Yoongi trusts him so much.
They've come so far.
"My father is an asshole," Yoongi says after several languid minutes of just soaking in bath water. His hair is damp with sweat and sticking to the skin of Taehyung's chest.
"Do you want to talk about it?" the nurse ventures, rubbing small circles into Yoongi's stomach.
His patient tenses up. "Not— Not right now. I'm actually feeling better, so..."
Even though he's still curious, Taehyung lets it go. Yoongi will come to him on his own time.
"There is something I've been wondering about though..."
The nurse nuzzles his face into Yoongi's neck and gives it a quick kiss. "Go ahead and ask."
"What was your girlfriend's name?"
Taehyung tenses at the question. He doesn't have a problem sharing his past with Yoongi, but this is different. Because if Yoongi knew anything more about his girlfriend, about what she looked like, everything would likely fall apart. His patient would think he only cares about him because Yoongi looks like her, which, much to his chagrin, is the reason he took this job in the first place.
But things are vastly different now.
Yoongi isn't Yoonji. Yoongi is a completely different person with different hopes and dreams, fears, and flaws. Taehyung loves Yoongi for simply being Yoongi, and he knows it would've happened regardless of who he resembled.
But deep down, he knows the elder wouldn't see it that way.
Who would?
He can't ever let him know. It doesn't matter anyway, doesn't change how Taehyung feels about him, so why go there?
He can't just flat out lie, though.
"Yoonji," he breathes out. "Her name was Yoonji."
"Didn't you accidentally call me that once? I mean, I get it. Our names are so similar."
"Yeah—"
"I've noticed something," Yoongi continues, swirling the bathwater in front of him. "You never showed me what she looked like either."
Laughing to quell the anxiety bubbling in his gut, Taehyung pulls the elder closer to him. "I didn't think you cared."
"Well, you know what my first love looks like," Yoongi counters, but he doesn't sound upset, just curious. It does nothing to settle the nurse's distress.
"Because he's the one who reached out to me about the job, so of course I've seen Jimin-hyung. Yoonji is no longer here, so I just didn't think it was important to show you."
Yoongi nods, moving his hands to rest atop Taehyung's wrapped around his torso under the water. "Still, I kind of want to see her, you know, to put a face to the name, so that when you tell me stories I can envision it."
"You wouldn't mind me telling you stories?" the nurse questions. He's more than a little surprised at the suggestion. "It wouldn't make you jealous?"
Snorting, Yoongi laces their fingers together. "Jealous? I mean, I guess it might, but it's not like I can give you what she gave you. I don't have a pussy." He cackles at his own joke. "Are you jealous of Jimin or something?"
For a moment, Taehyung considers lying just a bit, but what good would do them? "Maybe a little," he admits finally. "I mean, he's a really great guy and he's a phone sex operator, so he's probably good with all that sexy stuff."
"Sexy stuff?" Yoongi repeats, snickering. "Yeah, he's pretty good at it..."
An odd thought occurs to the nurse and once it's there, he can't seem to let it go. "Has he ever talked to you like that?"
"Yeah," Yoongi admits with a sigh and Taehyung feels his chest constrict. "He helps me out sometimes when I'm feeling unwanted. But it's purely platonic." He turns to grin up at the nurse with a cocked brow. "Jealous now?"
"Actually, yes," the nurse grits out. He knows he's pouting like a child but he can't help it. He's brand new to this whole liking guys thing and Yoongi used to have his pick of anyone he wanted....
Yoongi reaches up to stroke Taehyung's cheek, still grinning devilishly. "Mmm, I like the look on you. I like that you don't want me talking to any other guy that way."
Surprised, the nurse stutters. "W-Why?"
"Makes me feel like I'm yours."
"Yoongi," Taehyung breathes out, grasping his patient's hand and kissing his fingers, "you are mine. And I am... yours."
Yoongi falls still against him, most likely in shock. The bath water is growing colder, but it's still comfortable enough that they won't be getting out anytime soon. He hopes so, anyway. He might've just scared his patient off.
"Do you mean that?" Yoongi questions, eyes narrowed.
Taehyung swallows hard and brings his hand to stroke Yoongi's chest above where his heart beats, a gentle caress. He means it. He truly does. Nothing in the world compares to this feeling of falling in love— not in like, not infatuation or high school lust, not an overgrown friendship, but true love. He knows Yoongi's flaws, has seen him at his worst, has heard of his even darker days. He's held him when he's cried, had worked out their issues when they fought.
Has seen him smile.
Taehyung wants to see more of those smiles, wants to be the one responsible for them.
"Yes, I mean that," he confesses. His hands are beginning to shake. "I belong to you, Yoongi."
It takes a few minutes for Yoongi to move from his stupor, but he eventually does, facing back towards the bath and leaning into the nurse's chest once more. He doesn't say anything, just stares at the wall and plays with Taehyung's hands beneath the water. Finally, he sucks in a breath and parts his lips to speak.
"Tae... I want you."
His voice is so small, nearly a whisper, but Taehyung hears it as clear as day. He sucks in his own breath at the revelation, at the intention in the words, but he's not scared.
Far from it, actually.
"Can we?" Yoongi asks, a blush staining his face, already reddened from the hot water.
Taehyung finds that his heart is racing erratically but he wants nothing more in this moment. "If you want to, hyung. Just... show me how."
They leave the bath full and trail water all the way to the bed. The bottle of flavored oil lubricant is still on the nightstand from the massage incident and Taehyung picks it up, knowing at least this much about this new sexual situation.
When Yoongi asks to lay down, however, the nurse recalls Jungkook's words and falls on the bed instead, pulling his patient to straddle him. He rests his hands on the elder's slim hips, his thumbs brushing the fading remnants of Yoongi's wolf tattoo. "I'll help hold you up, but it's better for your back this way, less pressure on the spine," he explains as Yoongi settles on top of him.
"Did you— Did you actually research how to have sex with me and not hurt me?"
It's Taehyung's turn to blush now. "Sort of... Jungkook-ah suggested it."
Yoongi grimaces and roll his eyes. "Of course he did, the little shit."
"I'm sorry, hyung."
Noticing Taehyung's sudden panic, his patient laughs and leans forward to brace himself against the nurse's chest. "No, it's fine," he assures. "I think it's kind of hot, actually. You're like my sexy doctor..."
"Careful or you'll prove Hobi-hyung right about roleplaying," Taehyung teases, though he's quickly becoming distracted by Yoongi stretching himself over his body.
"So what if I do, Nurse Kim?" Yoongi bats his lashes and bites his lip. "Are you going to stop me?"
"I-I—" Taehyung slams his mouth shut.
Oh, this is doing something to him. Why is this so sexy? This is his job; he's a professional...
Yoongi breaks character for a moment to laugh at his nurse's expression but then he's dropping his voice low and running his hands over Taehyung's chest. "Mmm, Nurse Kim...."
"Hyung, if you keep doing that then—"
"Looks like you're already excited," Yoongi muses, leaning back to palm Taehyung's growing erection. He hums in contemplation. "You've got a long cock."
Taehyung's face feels like it has exploded in flames. "W-Why are you always so blunt?"
"Embarrassed, Nurse Kim? Don't worry, I like it..."
Yoongi adjusts himself with a giggle, and Taehyung has to grip his hips tighter just to keep him balanced on top of him. "I'm not embarrassed," he protests, "I just... you're so experienced and I'm—"
Arching a brow, Yoongi looks down at him with amusement. "You've been pretty confident so far. What happened?"
"I want it to be good for you," Taehyung admits, thumbs rubbing into Yoongi's skin. "But are you sure you want to do this? You said you could only feel pressure down there."
Yoongi snorts in amusement. "There's more than one way to get turned on, Taehyung. Do you not remember last time? If I'm into it mentally, I can get off, and trust me, the thought of you inside me already has me worked up, as you can see."
Swallowing back his embarrassment, the nurse dares to take a look between Yoongi's legs and finds that his patient is right— Yoongi is already half-hard and thickening with every second. "O-Oh, that's good."
"You've gotten so shy on me, Nurse Kim," Yoongi purrs, stroking Taehyung with deft fingers until he's fully aroused. "Let's change that, yeah?"
Slowly, Yoongi reaches over to remove one of Taehyung's hands from his body and then he grabs the bottle of lube from the bed. He squirts some onto the nurse's fingers and rubs it in. "It needs to be warm first," he explains before leading the nurse's hand behind him. "Now, since I can't feel much, it's up to you to go slow. You'll know when I'm opening up, so just... go slow."
"O-Ok," Taehyung breathes out, feeling his fingers come into contact with the smooth flesh of Yoongi's ass and then finally the puckered rim of his hole. He pushes in a little bit and for some reason he was expecting a gasp of acknowledgement from his patient, but nothing happens.
Of course, Yoongi can't feel anything.
"Hyung, we don't have to do this if you don't get anything out of it. I don't want to be greedy."
Sighing, Yoongi levels a pointed glare down at the nurse. "Taehyung, stop fucking overthinking this and fuck me. I've waited too long for your weird sexy ass to notice me and I'm not leaving this planet without the experience of your dick in me."
Taehyung nearly chokes on his own spit at the blatant words. "You're so... honest right now."
"It gets worse the more you get to know me," Yoongi assures with a laugh.
"Well, I look forward to that."
The words themselves are simple, but they imply so much more. That there's a future for them, that Taehyung intends to stick around, that Yoongi will continue to open up to him. But as loaded with intent as they might be, they aren't scary or foreboding. No, they sound like a sweet, sweet promise.
Yoongi smiles at that promise and talks Taehyung through fingering him open, asking what he feels like, if the nurse can feel his body yielding to him. Surprisingly, it's hot, describing the way Yoongi sucks his fingers in, how wet and tight he is inside. His patient seems to think so too because his eyes flutter shut and he keeps chewing on his lips, as if the dirty talk itself is driving him mad.
"Fuck, Tae, your voice is so sexy like this."
"You're sexy," Taehyung replies, running his free hand down Yoongi 's toned stomach. "I've never found a guy attractive but you changed everything. Your face is so pretty and your body..."
"I'm covered in scars," Yoongi interjects, sounding deflated. "It's ok, you don't have to lie to me."
The nurse shakes his head. "I like them, though. They remind me that you're real and that you're not a dream. Because sometimes, when I look at you, I feel like I must be dreaming."
"Fuck, Tae, remind me not to let you watch any more of those dramas. You sound fucking ridiculous." Yoongi acts affronted, but there's a definite blush on the apples of his soft cheeks.
"I think you like it, baby," Taehyung counters, grinning wildly.
Yoongi's eyebrows shoot up. "Baby?"
"Should I not call you that? I'm sorry—"
"No, no, it's fine! It just kind of shocked me."
The nurse giggles and wiggles his eyebrows salaciously. "Should I just call you Patient Min, then?"
Yoongi looks horrified at the suggestion. "Ok, fuck it. Call me baby. Call me honey. Just not that."
"Baby," Taehyung drawls, testing out the word. Yoongi's reaction is instantaneous— he almost falls over. He seems to like the name after all. "I think you're ready for me."
It's not as complicated or strange as Taehyung expected. He gets three fingers deep in Yoongi, feeling him stretch nicely around him and then he's pulling out and stabilizing his patient on top of him.
"Help me ride you," Yoongi requests, helping line Taehyung up beneath his ass and then they are both working to push him in, guiding his cock into that tight heat inch by inch.
"Oh my.. fuck." Taehyung feels like all the air has been pulled from his lungs. It feels that good.
"Mmm, careful Nurse Kim. You're on the job." Yoongi snickers, though he's noticeably breathless as well.
"I can't, I can't, it's so good."
And it is— so hot and wet from the lube and so different than what he's experienced before. Yoongi's body pulls him and clenches around him with every minute shift and it's starting to drive him insane.
Yoongi shudders on top of him. "F-Feel good?"
"Mmmm.... unhhhh."
"I think I broke you," Yoongi muses gleefully as he lays his hands on top of Taehyung's where they sit on his hips. "Let's move now."
It's slow at first, careful so Yoongi can control the pace to make sure he isn't getting hurt. Taehyung doesn't mind, too consumed by how incredible it feels. He's nearly balls deep inside the elder due to the positioning and he can feel his cockhead rubbing against Yoongi's walls.
"Shit, I can feel the pressure of you inside," Yoongi suddenly blurts out. "Fuck, I wish I could feel this for real. You're so long, bet you're right up against my— Oh!" He nearly shouts when Taehyung begins to curiously rub his patient's erection. "Tae.... I think I can feel that."
The nurse focuses on the flushed cock in his hand. "Yeah, hyung? You can feel me rubbing your big dick?"
Yoongi tenses at this and sputters out a protest. "I-It's not—"
"It's huge, hyung." Taehyung exclaims, because it's true. He never would've thought Yoongi, with his petite frame, would be so endowed, but here he is, filling up his nurse's hand and then some. "You're so thick..."
"Stop, I'm—" Yoongi cuts himself off with a groan, still being assisted in riding his nurse thanks to Taehyung's strong grip on his right hip. Right now, the pace is steady and teasing but Taehyung has had enough of that.
The nurse begins to thrust up in an effort to bounce Yoongi on top of him. "Can you feel me?"
"Y-Yes. It's like a... tingle," his patient explains. "Your fingers on my cock... they tingle and fuck, it's so good. I didn't think I could feel things like that—"
Satisfied, Taehyung pulls on Yoongi's cock, playing with the arousal beading from his tip. "I can't believe I'm doing this," the nurse exclaims, nearly breathless, throwing his head back to bite his bottom lip. "Only you, Yoongi. Fuck, only for you."
Above him, Yoongi doesn't respond, he just closes his eyes and holds on while Taehyung bounces him around, feeling his cock slide in and out with each thrust. The elder is sweating profusely, little tendrils of black hair sticking to his face, while he just gapes up at the ceiling, his small lips parted in an "o" as keening moans erupt from between them.
He knows Yoongi can't feel him inside, but apparently he can somewhat feel Taehyung's hand on his cock, so he focuses on giving his patient pleasure where it counts, kneading the cockhead between his thumb and forefinger before giving the shaft firm strokes from base to tip.
Nearly whimpering, Yoongi looks down at him with tears shining in his eyes, his long-fingered hands splayed out against the nurse's stomach for support. "T-Tae, you're going to— I'm going to—"
"You're going to cum for me, hyung," Taehyung whispers, digging his heels into the bed to gain more leverage. "You're going to cum all over my hand, yeah?"
The whine that escapes Yoongi's lips is so sinful. Tears are streaming down his face and his lips tremble around his words. "Y-Yes, want to cum for you. Fuck, Tae, I feel so— I'm not b-broken..."
"No, baby, you're not broken," the nurse assures, grunting as his own climax begins to pool deep within his gut. "You're perfect, Yoongi. So perfect. So perfect for me."
Yoongi is quivering, practically chewing through his lip. "Only me? Please— Shit— tell me it's only me. Y-You want only me."
"Only you.... Fuck!" Taehyung shouts, feeling his climax ripping through him suddenly at the sight of Yoongi sobbing from pleasure while his nails dig into the soft flesh of Taehyung's stomach.
With a strangled wail and slew of gasps, Yoongi cums right into the nurse's hand before collapsing against Taehyung's chest, trembling all over. His legs are still straddling Taehyung, holding him deeply inside.
Frantic, Yoongi grasps Taehyung's face roughly and kisses him, dirty and messy, and it's then that the nurse reaches his peak, jutting his hips up as he cries out in ecstasy, emptying himself into the smaller man on top of him.
"Tae.... Tae.." Yoongi is lazily sucking on his neck, licking up the salt of sweat while the nurse catches his breath.
"I need to move your legs," Taehyung explains after the comedown, before gently helping Yoongi onto his back and arranging his legs on the bed in a more comfortable position.
Yoongi struggles to suck in air, though he's smiling through it all. "Fuck... I think I could actually die happy now."
"Don't say that, hyung. It's grim."
"No, you don't understand. I felt you, Tae. I felt you." Yoongi grins like an idiot, eyes hooded and bleary from being sated so completely. "I... did it."
"Yes," Taehyung replies, running his hand through his patient's hair and down his cheek. He stares at this man who has consumed him so completely in mind and body. "Yoongi... you did it."
The tears that fall from his eyes then are born from joy, from tasting heaven and then holding the angel who brought him there in his arms.
—————
There was a time after the accident where Yoongi thought he would never be loved again. He had only Jimin, his best friend, by his side, doting on him as his body remained in braces and his legs healed from the extensive surgeries they had to do in order to straighten the bone and keep them in tact. He would lay there in the dark and think, no one will ever want me like this.
And if they did, it will be for another reason other than his personality or his soul. He was so certain that if someone was going to be with him, that they would have to be in it for his money, for the thrill of having someone completely dependent on them.
He certainly never expected someone like Taehyung to come into his life and prove him wrong.
Now, as he lay in the dark, the early morning light of dawn struggling to peek in through the blinds, he looks over to find the nurse sleeping soundly, his face lax with sleep. His usually strong brow is less prominent in this state, and his overall appearance is benign and soft.
Sweet.
For the first time in awhile, Yoongi feels safe. He's not worried that come morning, Taehyung will change his mind. He's not concerned that this man wants him for anything other than his heart and it's hard for Yoongi to admit.
Because after years of giving parts of himself away to random people, of slaving after his father's attention only to lose everything in a single night, Yoongi has thrown away all his fears and trepidations and handed his bleeding heart to someone.
Sure, he fought Taehyung along the way, but somehow he knew. He knew from the moment he first laid eyes on the other man standing there in his dining room with an eager smile on his face that he would be different. He didn't understand how back then, and he hadn't wanted to ponder the feeling, but he knew.
And now he knows.
Yoongi knows just by looking at Taehyung sleeping next to him, his body a welcome and warm presence, that he's in love. Truly in love in mind, body, and spirit.
He had thought he was in love with Jimin— and in many ways he is— but he never felt this way about his friend. He never looked at Jimin and saw his future spread out before him, shining like light through a prism— a kaleidoscope of possibilities, colors so vibrant. He never understood Jimin the way he understands Taehyung, never felt the other man so deeply embedded within himself. Never looked into those eyes and thought he saw himself staring back, smiling, happy.
They're so different, Taehyung and him, yet they're the same. So very human and fragile and fucked up but strangely put together. Taehyung, with his heartache but his determination to keep going, his hope. Yoongi, with his limp legs but his unbridled desire to run, to feel that way again even though the world tells him has no right. That he should just learn to live like this.
What an odd pair they make, but it's a bond that Yoongi feels like has been there all along, simmering all these years, perhaps even over his lifetime. And to think that this may have never happened if Taehyung hadn't lost his first love and if Yoongi hadn't gotten in that car. To think that maybe this was supposed to happen this exact way, each scar and tear shed having a purpose.
They only get one life and they had both assumed theirs was ruined by circumstances behind their control, that now they were cursed to live on handicapped and stunted, and yet...
Yet, they proved themselves wrong.
Yoongi desperately hopes he has been wrong.
The sunrise is almost here now, the first rays of dawn drawing closer, brighter, and just as Yoongi closes his eyes to drift off into heaven once more, Taehyung's phone begins to buzz on the nightstand. The nurse had placed it there before he began setting up the bath for Yoongi and never moved it, so it's on Yoongi's side of the bed, taunting him with each vibration.
Craning his head, Yoongi looks over to see the screen, laughing under his breath when he sees the notification for Tannie's grooming appointment! set for later in the day.
Cute, Yoongi thinks. Taehyung is probably the very embodiment of the word.
The notification disappears and then Yoongi is left staring at the background of the nurse's phone, the picture that Yoongi thought he caught a glimpse of a few days ago. The picture he assumed was himself.
But it's not him.
It can't be, yet it's his face.
It's a girl, young, probably late high school, with dark shoulder-length hair and a wide grin. It's a headshot of her smiling sweetly, her features soft for the person behind the camera. But there's no mistaking it— she looks exactly like Yoongi, not one part of her face lacking in resemblance. It's as if Yoongi is looking at a picture of himself wearing a wig, with shadow around his eyes and a subtle hint of pink gloss glinting on his lips.
A picture in which he is so happy, so care free. A picture of him in love.
Stunned, Yoongi stares dumbly at the phone until the screen fades to black.
Why would Taehyung have a picture of a girl on his phone? A girl who looks exactly like him? Where would he even find someone like that and why? Who is she? What does this mean?
So many questions race through his mind, far too quickly for him to even comprehend and then suddenly, all of them fall silent until only one sickening thought takes root.
The high school girl is looking at the camera like she's in love, because she is. She's in love with Taehyung— or at least, she was.
Because that girl is Yoonji.
She has to be.
Out of morbid fascination, Yoongi palms around on the nightstand until he finds his own phone and brings it up to his face.
He's heard enough from listening to Taehyung's stories around his other employees to take a good guess at the area of Daegu he was raised in and he types in the location along with the name "Yoonji" in the search bar.
Immediately, several news articles appear, referencing a girl with cancer in that area, and how she is fighting for her life while still attempting to finish high school. Numbly, Yoongi clicks on one of the websites and begins to skim the words until his eyes fall upon one particular passage that has his heart threatening to tear out of his chest.
Kang Yoonji says she will continue to fight the cancer, especially since she has the support of her family and her highschool sweetheart, Kim Taehyung, who is by her side nearly every day.
"I can't imagine my life without her," said Kim. "She's my everything. We've been through so much together even though we're young, and if the worst happens, I know I'll always find a way to include her in my life."
For a moment, Yoongi just lays there reading the words over and over.
Taehyung said he would always find a way to include her in his life...
How lucky that he found someone who looks exactly like her.
Calmly, Yoongi puts his phone back on the nightstand, lies back down, and stares up at the ceiling.
The first tear falls right as the sun rises to announce a new day.
