Part 2 Why Suddenly?

Aman noticed Sheetal the entire conference and understood she was upset. There was a charm that always resided on her face missed at the time of her presentation. He waited for the conference to get over.

Arnav was discussing something with Shyam and Akash. After an hour, Shyam went to his cabin and Arnav came to his cabin with Akash, finishing the discussion. Sending off the invitees, Aman came to Arnav's cabin.

"What's wrong with Sheetal?" Aman asked.

Akash switched his gaze to Arnav from Aman whereas Arnav leaned on his seat.

"Why are you questioning me? You better ask Sheetal. You will get an instant reply," Arnav said.

"It's because I know, somewhat, you would be the reason why she is upset"

Arnav rolled his eyes.

"She was so brisk this morning. I saw change in her only after your arrival"

"What's the point?"

"What did you say? Did you hurt her anyways?"

Here, Akash took lead.

"It's not Arnav's mistake, Aman. He just said what he felt..."

"Felt? What did you say?"

"I said, whatever people talking about our relationship is rubbish," Arnav said.

"Rubbish?"

"Yes, because there was nothing called a relationship between us"

Aman pulled the chair in front of his table and sat.

"What's your problem, Arnav? Nani is worrying about you and your wedding. You are not ready to give a look to any girl. What's there in your mind?"

"There is nothing in my mind"

"This is the problem... we know Sheetal. She genuinely likes you. I'm sure you won't get an understanding girl like Sheetal"

"So?"

"Simple... marry her and be relaxing"

"What about you? will you be waiting for an understanding girl to come into your life?"

"How could I do that not knowing whether I will get one or not?"

"What will you do if the girl you got is not understanding?"

"What could I do? I will try to understand her..."

"So, getting an understanding girl is not at all matter, right?"

"What are you trying to say?"

"Sheetal understands me... it doesn't mean she is fit to be my wife"

"What do you mean, ASR? Don't you know she has feelings for you?"

"Here, you are mentioning, feeling or something... I never felt it for her. Then how this relationship works? I can't see her beyond friendship."

"But..."

"Aman, if he is clear, he has no feelings for Sheetal, there is no point to talk about it," Akash said.

"Frankly speak Akash, what you would have done if Sheetal like a girl loves you?"

Akash smiled with a blush. Aman rolled his eyes.

"Stop blushing and answer me..."

"I would have accepted her with wide open arms"

"Then..."

Akash stopped him, showing his palm.

"You should understand one MAIN thing Aman, I'm Akash... not Arnav..."

"So?"

"It's simple. If he has no feelings for Sheetal. Just leave it. Forcing it on him is not fair at all..."

"Then what would he going to do?"

"What do you want me to do?" Arnav asked.

"Forget it..."

Grasping a glass of water, Aman gulped it. Arnav smiled at Aman who looked helpless.

"Relax Aman..."

"Are you going to break Sheetal's heart?"

"Don't you honestly want me to break her heart?"

"Of course, yes..."

"Then, I should not think of marrying her."

"What does that mean? Won't you speak anything straight? Stop beating around the bush and come to the point"

"Marriage is not only a hearty agreement but also should be mutual. It should not be one-sided. Do you think, I don't know about Sheetal's feelings for me? As a friend, I like her but not more than that. I even tried to force myself to get into her because I too know she is a nice girl but I couldn't get into her"

Aman sighed. He stood up, pushing the chair behind him.

"I'm going..." he walked out and saw Sheetal standing.

It was clear that she heard Arnav's words patch-perfectly. Aman nodded his head sadly.

"I'm sorry, Sheetal... he is stubborn"

"He knew I'm a nice girl... What else does he want more than that...?" she exclaimed.

Aman was silent as he did not know what to say.

"It's nothing but his big-fat ego"

"No, Sheetal. He has an ego but he never showed it to us..."

"Does it make difference?"

"Of course, it does..."

"How? Does it make me his wife? It's a dead-end, Aman"

"Relax, Sheetal. He will understand at one point"

"At which point, Aman? Can't he consider my love at least?"

"Give him some time, yaar. We are here to make him understand. I know ASR. He won't get satisfied easily. So, he won't like any girl soon. Then, you will get a chance to fill the space for sure"

Sheetal sighed annoyingly and went to her cubical. Aman felt bad for her.

Evening

Arnav came home as usual late. He saw his family chit-hatting in the living room.

"Chotte... how was your conference today?" Anjali asked formally.

"It was awesome, Bhabi" Arnav sat next to Nani.

"Get fresh, Chotte... I will get you a strong coffee" Anjali said.

"I will get fresh later... you get me coffee first, Bhabi" Arnav smiled.

"Ok..." Anjali went to the kitchen.

Shyam came getting fresh and sat with them.

"Arnav bituwa, can't you just free yourself from a rug-like dress?" Manorama asked, seeing him sitting in his suit.

"Rug? Really, Mami? Do you know how much it costs?"

"Whatever... it gives me the same feel of the rug"

Arnav rolled his eyes smilingly.

Anjali brought coffee for Shyam and Arnav.

"Thank you, Bhabi"

"Where are Dhruv and NK?" Arnav asked Manorama.

"Don't know, where they went" she sighed.

That was when NK walked in.

"Hi, Nannav"

"Hi..."

He sat next to Arnav.

"Ohfo... I think I have missed Bhabhi's coffee"

"Exactly," Arnav said sipping the coffee.

"Don't worry, NK, I will prepare one for you"

"So sweet of you, Bhabi"

Anjali went to the kitchen again.

"Where were you?" Shyam asked.

"Went to a movie with my friends, Bhai"

"Don't you have an idea to join AR?"

"How can I do it, if the owner of the company is mum?" he nagged Arnav who was about to take the next sip from the cup.

"what the..." he pulled the cup forward.

"Oh, sorry, Nannav..."

"This is why I'm hesitating to take you to AR... your atrocity is praiseworthy you know" he teased.

"If RAM didn't trust LAXMAN, who will do Nannav?" he said sentimentally, clutching Arnav's chin.

"Ok... but why are you saying this all of a sudden?" he asked seriously.

NK was taken aback.

"Nannav, I know you are ZERO in sentiment but, I didn't think, you would be DOUBLE ZERO. I'm talking about you and me only..."

"You mean...?"

"Yes... you are Ram and I'm Laxman"

"Oh..." Arnav said plainly.

"Nannav, now, I'm confident"

"Why?"

"If BUDHU like you can run a company, why can't I be an employee?"

"Excuse me... Am I BUDHU?"

"Absolutely... you can't even catch a simple point... then who you are?"

"This Ram and Laxman theory are not necessary to run a company. Mind it"

Anjali came with a cup of coffee and handed it to NK.

"Thank you, Bhabi. Obviously, I need this now. My head is blasting talking with this man" NK sucked the coffee, making a noise.

"We have to take him to AR, Arnav" Shyam said sternly.

Arnav looked at NK who pleaded through his eyes.

"I'm taking you to AR only for Shyam Bhai"

"Thank you, Nananv..." Keeping the cup on the tea table, NK rushed to Shyam and hugged him.

"Thank you, Bhai"

Shyam pulled him from the hug.

"I recommended to you that I usually don't do because I should answer if the person doesn't work well. Yet, I did that for you. Keep it in your mind and be good and work hard."

"Sure Bhai" NK back to the couch next to Arnav.

"Where is Dhruv?" Arnav asked NK.

"Shhh... as usual..." NK said in a low tone and Arnav rolled his eyes.

"What are you guys, murmuring?" Anjali asked smiling.

"Nothing Bhabi... nothing" NK

Nani was observing everything silently. How could she even dare to think one among these might be the one who tried to kill Arnav? Her family was everything to her. When Arvind died falling ill, Ratna was left alone with Arnav. It was Nani who extended her helping hand to Ratna. She decided to be with her and settled down with her in RM. But, as she didn't expect, Ratna was killed within a month of her husband's demise. Nani didn't know what to do. That was when she asked her sons Sudhakar and Manohar to look after the business and also Arnav. They obeyed their mother and settled down in RM. Till the day, they shifted to RM, they were showering love and care on Arnav. She had no doubt about it. When Arnav completed his master's, he was asked to take charge of AR. It happened simply with no drama. Then how could she even doubt her family members?

She decided to meet the saint the next day to get her doubt cleared. Didn't he say, tomorrow she would understand why he was telling everything to her all of a sudden? So, she decided to go to the temple to meet him again.

The next day

Everyone was acting according to their routine. So was Nani. She had breakfast and went to the temple. She was in a hurry of meeting the saint. There was a million-dollar question in her mind.

WHY DID HE TELL HER EVERYTHING ALL OF SUDDEN? Why?

The car halted in front of the temple. Nani got down of the car and saw the Pandit of the temple locking the temple.

"Panditji, why are you locking the temple so previously?"

"The Temple should not be open today, Maji"

"But why?"

"Ram Baba... I mean the one who was talking to you yesterday PASSED AWAY this morning"

Naniji stood frozen hearing the shocking news.

To be continued...
