Part 28 Declaration

Arnav looked at Khushi, expecting her to say something in flow. But, how did he know, it was his mother who closed Khushi's mouth immediately and stopped her from saying anything?

Yes, Ratna didn't want Khushi to say anything in flow this time because she didn't want Raizadas to get upset with Khushi. She knew they like Sheetal. Ratna wanted Arnav to handle the issue and be responsible for the consequences, not Khushi. After seeing Arnav hugging Khushi, somewhat Ratna understood what was there in Arnav's heart because she never had seen him so vulnerable like that before.

So, if Khushi said anything negative, people in RM might accept her words now but they would think she lied because she had feelings for Arnav if Arnav declared his decision of marrying her. Ratna didn't want them to think of her wrongly. That was why she stopped Khushi from telling anything in flow.

However, Arnav was not going to accept this proposal. Then why should Khushi say anything regarding this? That was her point.

Khushi looked at Ratna horrified.

"Just smile, Khushi..." Ratna said.

She smiled, accepting her order, and said,

"But, this marriage will not happen. What if Arnavji accepts the proposal?" she said worriedly, without lip movement.

"I know this marriage will not happen because Chotte won't accept the proposal..."

Khushi looked at her surprisingly.

"But why? How could you say so confidently?"

"Because my Chotte doesn't like this girl"

"Is it?"

"Yes... So, don't be tense. Chotte won't accept the proposal"

"How do you know that?"

"I know... I know my son" she smiled.

Khushi huffed in relief and smiled delightfully. That was when Arnav looked at her, switching his gaze from Sheetal. Khushi should have smiled because something good was going to happen to him, after all, she wanted his betterment... Arnav supposed.

He walked in. Kapoors smiled at him. Sheetal smirked at him as if she had tricked him by bringing her parents and he had no choice other than to accept the proposal.

"What's all this, Sheetal?" Arnav asked with a dangerous gaze.

Rishab stood up, looking at Sheetal awkwardly. Arnav's expression alerted him.

"Arnav... Sheetal loves you..."

Cutting him,

"Do you know I love her?" He snapped.

Rishab became speechless.

"Before going on your daughter's words, you should have known the full issue, uncle," Arnav said.

"She is in love with you for more than two years, Arnav. You do know that"

"I know that and I had told her I don't love her."

Nani huffed in relief and Khushi looked at Ratna who was smiling at her.

"Didn't I say?"

Khushi nodded yes excitedly.

"But why, beta? You are good friends..." Mrs. Kapoor asked Arnav.

"We are just friends, Aunty. Marriage is different... I can't accept Sheetal as my wife because I'm expecting some potential in a wife. Sheetal doesn't have them"

"She will definitely meet your expectations if you say what you are expecting in your wife," Mrs. Kapoor said.

"This is not a coaching center but a family, Aunty. In fact, that potential can't be taught. It should be present in the girl naturally. I need such a girl as my wife"

"But, Chotte..." Anjana tried to say something.

Arnav stopped her showing his palm and looked that Sheetal.

"Can't you understand a simple thing? How many times did I say I don't like you? Is not it looking silly to bring your parents here, after knowing my disinterest in you? What do you think, I will accept your proposal if you come with your parents? Why are you making them feel humiliated? I don't expect this from you Sheetal. I thought you would be a good friend. Any friendship needs understanding. Neither you are a good friend nor you are a good daughter"

"Touch your heart and say don't you like me?"

"I like you... as a friend...as my PA. I think that is the biggest mistake I have ever done. I tolerated your torture because I thought you would understand my stand in some days. But, nope... I'm highly disappointed with you..."

Rishab glared at Sheetal.

"You talked as if he also loves you. How did you bring us here to talk about your wedding so confidently? Within a few minutes, I understood his stand, seeing his expression. Why couldn't you?"

Sheetal looked at Arnav fuming.

"You are talking about my understanding. Why can't you understand how deeply I am in love with you Arnav?"

"What's the use of understanding your love when I have no feelings for you?"

"Why Arnav? Am I not looking good? Stylish? Well-cultured? What else do you need?"

"Who said I am expecting these qualities in my wife? I don't care even if she doesn't have these qualities"

"Then, what the hell do you expect?"

"Why should I tell you about it?"

"Arnav..." Mrs. Kapoor tried to say something.

"There is nothing more to talk about it Aunty because I have already chosen my life partner..." Arnav finally declared.

Sheetal was shocked to the core. Did Arnav choose his partner? Who was she? No... He was lying to avoid her. He didn't...

"This is the limit, Sheetal. Let's go" Rishab said.

Sheetal didn't move. Clutching her hand, Rishab walked, pulling her. Sheetal went with him, looking at Arnav wrathfully.

Raizadas also thought the same as Sheetal. They thought Arnav said that, to boycott Sheetal.

They waited until the kapoors leave.

"Chotte, Sheetal is a nice girl. She loves you but you hurt her" Anjana said.

"Just because she loves me, how can I marry her?"

"However you are going to marry someone. Why not it be Sheetal?"

"Doesn't my opinion have value?" Arnav asked controlling his anger.

"Don't misunderstand us, Arnav bituva. We too want you to be happy. We are sure, Sheetal will make you happy" Manorama said.

"She doesn't have to make me happy, mami. I am already happy. It's enough if she doesn't snatch it from me"

"She knows your work pressure. she understands you well. What else a man needs more than an understanding wife?" Anjana questioned.

"You guys didn't understand one thing, I don't like Sheetal. Without having an interest in this marriage how could I be happy?"

"Are not you going to get married?" Manorama questioned.

"Of course, I will do... but not with Sheetal"

"Chotte..."

Cutting Anjana,

"I said I have already chosen my life partner," Arnav said, running his eyes on them and stopping at Khushi.

Nani became restless. What would she do now? Ratna wanted Arnav to marry Khushi it seemed. What could they do if Arnav liked someone? Nani lost hope.

"Is that true?" Anjana asked unbelievably.

"Yes, can't you believe it?"

"But you didn't say anything to anyone..."

"I wanted to... but before I do that, Sheetal fused it with her stupidity"

"Who do you want to become your life partner?" Anjali asked.

"I would like to marry Khushi," Arnav said without thinking... without hesitating.

Ratna smiled delightedly and Nani became super happy whereas Khushi's eyes popped out in shock. All the others looked at Khushi with the same shock.

Arnav smiled at Khushi who felt her body chilling up.

"Chotte are you sure?" Nani asked.

"Yes, Nani. I would like to marry Khushi" Arnav said firmly.

All of them jerked as they heard a thud. They saw Khushi lying on the floor, fainting. Arnav ran to her and everyone followed him.

Poor Khushi... she fainted having no strength to face the truth. Arnav and Nani were worried whereas Ratna laughed, seeing her innocent daughter in law, that no one heard.

To be continued...
