42 Simplicity
Part 42 Simplicity
Khushi was like, 'What I am going to do?' Her marriage was fixed. Only one week is left. Everything happened so quickly. She did not know how would she handle this phase of life. She saw an extreme level of happiness on Nani and Ratna's faces. Every girl should handle this phrase of life. So should she... she tried to get herself into the phrase.
Nani dialed Pandit. He attended the call.
"PanditJi Arnav agreed to the marriage. He asked me to fix it on next week"
"That's great news"
"I would like to visit our Kuldevi Temple before their marriage. what say?"
"No Maji, until their marriage, he should not roam around. Complete their marriage first. You can visit your Kuldevi Temple anytime"
"Okay, Pandit Ji. You are invited to their marriage. Don't deny it... Please"
"I already told you, I and Siya will be present at Kushi's marriage"
"Thank you so much"
"Ask him to be careful till his marriage"
" Okay Panditji "
Nani disconnected the phone.
"Ask her when will she declare your marriage to the family members," Ratna asked Khushi and Khushi asked Nani.
"Will tell them tomorrow morning"
Night
Khushi didn't find Ratna in the room. She came out searching for her. Where did she go? She didn't find a trace of her existence.
Arnav was not sleeping. There were a lot of things that happened in his life. Some were unbelievable... Some were surprising and some were blissful...
He didn't know what his mother doing. How lucky Khushi was to behave so coolly with his mother...! She talked to his mother as if they were friends. He sighed. He didn't know when he would get a chance to feel his mother. Didn't Guruji say, he would feel his mother soon but not like, how he was feeling presently...? How would he feel her? And when? Arnav became more restless. He consoled himself, recalling Guruji's words.
It would happen at the right time. His marriage with Khushi would lead him to *THAT* right time. His wedding was next week. After that, everything would happen one by one.
But...
It won't happen easily. HE should give his best to make it happen. His unseen enemy... Noooo... He/she was not an unseen person. Didn't Guruji say, the enemy was RELATED to him? Yes... So, the enemy was hiding his REAL identity from him and the hidden enemy of him would not let the wedding happen. He was at the edge of the rope... He looked at the holy thread tied by Guruji on his wrist. Would this holy thread stand for him until his wedding? He had very few days in his hand to do arrangements for the wedding.
Taking his phone, he searched for a wedding planner. He read the ratings and choose the best wedding planner. He called the number but the call was not attended. Of course, it was a late night. They must be busy or tired. Let them call him back, he thought. He should get the invitation ready. He had to invite a few important people in person and the rest could be invited by phone.
Damn...! Who the hell found such customs...? Was not a Mangal Sutra enough to get married? He huffed.
That was when he heard the sound of a single anklet. He knew whose anklet was that because he had another anklet of hers but what did she do at this hour? Would she be with his mother? He came out of the room without making noise. He saw Khushi looking here and there. What was she searching for? He came closer to her and watched her, standing behind a pillar.
"Don't know where is she roaming...! After she got released from the ties, she is not at all staying at home... Poor she... It's been a long she went out..." Khushi murmured.
That was news to Arnav. His mother was roaming out? That too, at this hour? But why?
Khushi understood that waiting for Ratna won't work. She sighed and was about to go, she stopped, hearing,
"Khushiiii..."
She widened her eyes seeing Arnav.
"Arrey, why are you reacting as if, I'm a ghost?"
*I would not have reacted like this if had seen a ghost* she thought.
"What are you doing here at this hour? Don't you sleep?"
"Oh... I..."
Arnav looked at her sharply to know what excuse she would give because he already knew she was searching for his mother.
"Are you searching for something?"
Suddenly, Khushi's face brightened. Arnav understood she got an idea to manage.
"Oh... Haan... I'm searching for my anklet"
Arnav got stuck. Her anklet was with him. She missed it on his bed.
"Where did you miss it?"
"I don't know"
"It's ok... I will buy a new anklet for you"
"No... I need the old one"
"But why?"
"It's my mother's..."
Arnav again got stuck.
"Oh..."
He was about to say something, but he saw Khushi's facial expression change suddenly with excitement. He assumed that his mother arrived.
Khushi frowned seeing something in Ratna's hand. It was a small bottle. Seeing Arnav with Khushi, Ratna hid it behind a flower vase because only she was invisible but the bottle. She didn't want Arnav to see the FLYING bottle. So, she hid it. That confused Khushi. What was she hiding? From where she brought it?
She gestured for Ratna something.
"Send Chotte to his room"
Khushi grinned at Arnav who smiled at her contently.
"You go Arnavji... I will search my anklet tomorrow morning"
"Are you sure?" Arnav asked seriously.
"Hannn... I'm going... I'm sleepy"
"Oh... Good night"
Arnav was about to go, they heard the phone ringing sound from Nani's room. Arnav and Khushi glanced at each other. Who was calling Nani at this hour? Arnav rushed to her room and saw an overseas number flashing.
"Overseas call for Nani?" He murmured and attended the call with confusion.
"Hello, who is this?" Arnav asked.
"I'm Aradhana from California... Khushi's friend. May I talk to her?"
Arnav raised his brows in surprise. Khushi's friend from California?
"Friend means? How do you know her?"
"I'm her college mate... We did Masters together"
"Masters?" He was more surprised.
"Yes, we are MSc Math Graduates"
"I see..."
"Siya Didi told me Khushi is at your place. She was the one who gave me this number. Shall I talk to her?"
"One minute..."
Arnav looked behind and didn't find Khushi there. He assumed she would have come to Nani's room following him. He came out searching for her.
In the meanwhile,
"Where did you go?" Khushi asked Ratna whispering.
"I went to do an important work"
"What work?"
"I will tell you later"
"What did you hide behind the vase?"
"A bottle..."
"What bottle? Why did you hide it? From where did you bring it?"
"I went to bring it only. When I returning back from AR today evening, I heard some school students talking about an interesting thing. I went to bring it"
"Students? What did they talk about?"
"I will tell you tomorrow how it worked"
"If you can't tell me about it clearly, why are you telling me about it? I don't like suspense" she pouted.
"I had no intention about telling you about it. But what could I do if you saw me...? You should have slept peacefully. Who asked you to roam in the midnight?"
"I came out not finding you in the room"
"Did you come searching for me or, to meet my son?"
Khushi dropped her jaw.
"Didn't you get sleep in the memories of my son?"
"Maji, I told you I searched for you. Why did you go out in the night?"
"Arrey, don't forget, I'm a ghost... I don't be visible for anyone but I can't hide anything that was in my hand. So, if I take anything in my hand, people will get to know about me. That's why I went in the night. So that, no one could see the thing I brought"
"Won't you say what did you bring?"
Ratna laughed not answering, making Khushi made a face.
She was about to say something, but stopped as Arnav called her.
"Khushiiii..."
"Jee, Arnavji..."
"Go... Go... Chotte is calling you"
Khushi rushed to Nani's room.
"Your friend Aradhana is on the line"
"Aradhana...?" Khushi became excited.
Taking the phone from his hand,
"Hi, Araa... How are you? How is your life going in California? Does the climate of California suit you? How do you manage their kind of food...?"
Arnav rolled his eyes.
"Khushiiii...khushiiii..." Aradhana called.
"Han...?"
"I could answer only if you give me a chance to speak."
"I became excited... By the way, how do you remember me?"
"What do you mean remember? When did I forget you? I always talk about you to my husband"
"Oh... How is Mr. Rowan?"
"He is fine and he wants to talk to you"
"But why?"
"He trusts your divine power... That's why"
"But how does he know?"
"I told him about you... He became surprised... He is so excited to talk to you. Will you?"
"Mmm... Okkkkeyyy..." She said hesitating.
"I'm passing the phone..."
Aradhana passed the phone to Rowan.
"Hi Khushi...".
"Hello Mr. Rowan..."
"How are you doing?"
"Doing good..."
"I expected HOW ARE YOU from you"
"I didn't ask 'how are you?' because I know you would be great being a husband of Aradhana..."
Arnav was more surprised hearing her English fluency.
"Wow... That's so nice... I would like to share something with you"
"Share what?"
"I have decided to start a new business in California... I would like to share it with you"
"With me? Buy why?"
"To see, whether you say anything in FLOW"
Khushi got stuck and sighed rolling her eyes.
"God bless you, Mr. Rowan"
"That means, there is nothing to hesitate with... Right?"
"Yeah..."
"Thank you so much Khushi..."
"Pleasure is mine"
"I'm passing the phone to Araa..."
"Yup..."
"Khushi..." Aradhana laughed.
"Stop laughing... Calling me in the midnight, are you making me a predictor...?"
"He was so hesitant to start a new business. See, how relaxed he is now!"
Khushi sighed.
"Thank you Khushi"
Khushi smiled.
"You are welcome"
"I will call you tomorrow. Bye"
"Bye," Khushi disconnected the call and saw Arnav grazing at her.
"Why didn't you say you are an MSc math graduate and could speak English fluently?"
"I was about to ask you for a job... But before that, many things happened... I didn't get a chance to tell you about it"
"You know what... You are unbelievable..."
Khushi bit her nail, as she didn't understand what he meant. Arnav chuckled softly. He didn't know how could she be so simple having a lot of qualities in her. She was truly unbelievable.
To be continued...
