Boboiboy Adopted Au

Fang tried to chew his favorite carrot donut and enjoyed its tasty flavor before giving up with a huff and dropping it down on the plate. He swallowed the food inside his mouth and sighed. Red eyes swept around the table at the group of septuplets he called as friends.

"Can you please just spit out whatever your problem is? I want to enjoy my donut before lunchtime is over."

For some reason, the septuplets appeared down the dumps more than normal today. Earthquake, who was often right in the head, seemed like he was going to commit a murder with the dark look on his face. He sat there, still like a statue, hands clasped together in front of his mouth and didn’t bother to touch his lunch or scowled his second younger brother who was crossing his legs across the table. On the other hand, Thunderstorm pulled his hat to cover half his face, arms folded across his chest. If it wasn't for the killing intent surrounding him, many people would have thought he was sleeping. Even three infamous rascals were staggering around like zombies and Ice was suffering insomnia, which made him no different than them, maybe worse. Fang had cringed when he had accidentally met the boy's haunted gaze and had to turn away in a fear he would be cursed. And Solar, well, all Fang could say was he pitied the boy’s white smartphone, which was about snapped in half based on how tight its owner's grip was.

The air was heavy enough that even none of Cyclone’s extreme fangirls dared to approach them. The girls only stood from afar, whispering to each other wondering why their idols were in such a miserable state. Even Gopal, who had hung out with the Boboiboy brothers from elementary school until the present, wasn’t able to bear the air and chose to withdraw to another table, where Ying, Yaya and her new boyfriend are having lunch right now. It was also the place the septuplets kept stealing a glance here and there.

"We should have eliminated that boy in the first place!” Blaze hissed, slamming his fist down the table hard. The hothead then murmured something along the line of if only he had kicked the ball harder that day, it would have been over under his breath. The alien boy rolled his eyes, too familiar with the overreaction of this family’s siblings.

Why was he here again? Ah, right, Ying had insisted he accompany those idiots and, maybe somehow, reason with them.

"A bunch of siscons." Fang mumbled and shook his head, immune to the killing gazes shot at him.

"We aren’t siscons, we just very love Yaya, that's all." Earthquake let out a heavy sigh, a small X appeared on his forehead. He leaned on the chair, golden eyes hadn’t left the table where his sister was sitting.

“Deny all you want, anyone who has a functioning brain knows about it.” Fang sneered, and he was telling the truth. "The whole ‘three meters wall is oblivious enough."

Thunderstorm snorted. "Such a rich word came out of you, Mr touch-my-gal-and-I-will-turn-your-life-into-a-living-nightmare."

“Oh, yeah? She is my girlfriend, officially. I have all right to prevent any potent threats.” The raven hair boy retaliated. “You, on other hand, are acting like some bunch of jerks. You reminded me of some old overprotective daddy being unreasonable with their daughter's love life.”

“We’re not, alright. Don't you think it was weird that no matter how much we've threatened that bastard, he keeps clinging on Yaya?" Solar snapped, put his phone down. Fang narrowed his red eyes at him and the boy just crossed his hand, returned the glance. “Something is definitely fishy here.”

"Huh? We have fish for lunch?" Thorn blinked.

"No, Thorn, that was a way of speaking." Cyclone whispered at his younger brother, who replied with an "Oh…"

"... Anyway. Dating Yaya beside, that… whatever-his-name-is appears too suspicious to me," Solar said finally. His brothers nodded in agreement.

"Agree. I always have a feeling he had approached Yaya on purpose, rather out of love."

"Whenever he is too stupid or persistent, there's the only way to find out--"

"Or you're just paranoid and observed with your sister." Fang interrupted. When the sibling was about to talked back, he raised a hand to stop them.

“Shut the damn up and let me finish. Have any of you considered Yaya's feelings for once in the whole thing? Or it’s only your own presumption? I may not be close to Yaya like you or Ying, but it appears to me she seemed happy with… whatever-his-name-is.”

The Boboiboy siblings looked at each other, some had an unreadable look on their face, others gritted their teeth. Knowing he had hit the bull hole, Fang pressed on. “What I’m saying here is, there might be a chance he does care for her, and she, in turn, might have feelings for him. And no, don't pull the 'all we want is good for her’ bullshit at me. From what I heard so far, you speak about how you think, not how Yaya thinks about the problem that belongs to hers.”

“Let's face it, Yaya won't be your sister forever, she's going to grow up and get married. Do you really have the heart to ruin it?" he inquired the siblings, raised one of his eyebrows.

No one said a word and they were still refusing to look at him, or in other  words, they were skulking. Fang sighed, he scratched his head, made his hair become messier than it was. Ok, maybe saying was too much. It was just like the time he convinced his older brother that he was capable enough to take care of himself. This kind of atmosphere was killing him and he was not going to explain to his girlfriend how or why things getting worse after his little talk to them.

Clicking his tongue, Fang tried to find another way to address the situation. “Look, I don't mean to get involved in your family's issues, which I really don’t care if not for Ying forcing me, but now you all made me have to. Yaya is also my friend. I can’t turn a blind eye when my friend’s joy is possible to be trampled over and you can’t keep her inside your ‘protection’ forever.”

"Unless you guys are going to make her go from your foster sister into your wife?" he stated, intended to lighten the mood with a joke. So the answer he received was totally not what he had expected.

"... ..."

The Boboiboy, all seven damn Boboiboys, except Thorn who looked as clueless as ever, avoided making eye contact with him. Again.

And this was a real problem.

The Alien boy’s expression slowly, but surely, changed from joking to shock and finally, paled as realization drew on him. Fang opened and closed his mouth like a fish, not sure how to put the right words. It was just a random thought, he swore, suddenly flashed in his mind, innocent and somewhat funny, so he just spoke it and now he was about punching his own face for it.

God forbid his eyes were playing tricks or it was true that Thurnderstorm's ears had turned redder and redder?

".... I should have known…." Fang murmured, rubbing a hand down his face. He looked wearily at the septuplets that he called his friends, who perhaps he should rethink about staying friends with after today. "Really, Boboiboy, really?"

Thorn tilted his head. "Really about what? We already agreed hm ufft--!"

Before the boy could finish, Cyclone had covered his mouth and shook his head while Blaze put a hand on his lips and hissed. Thunderstorm groaned and turned away. Solar placed hands on his face and joined Ice, whose face had been pasted on the table, on the seat. Fang whirled his head at Earthquake, who coughed into his hand, otherwise, not telling a word.

"...You guys are sick," was the only thing the raven hair boy was able to utter out, and was the only thing his half-paralyzed brain could process.

"Oh, shut." Thunderstorm hissed, his face beet red. And Fang did. The boy wished nothing but a way to forget the unnecessary realizations he just got at the moment. He would definitely cross those siblings out of his friend list and the first thing was, he needed to get out of here, fast, before he was infected by their sickos.

“If you and Yaya do have a wedding in the future, I am not coming.” Fang stood up and promptly walked away, not looking back.

"Shut up, Fang!"

“Big brother!”

A six-year-old Yaya in a pink dress tackled her brother, her short brown hair fluttering with the motion. The boy, her brother, quickly caught her, but the body of a kid wasn’t strong enough to withstand the force, hence two kids fell and rolled alongside the grass.

“Ouchie…” The boy groaned, rubbing the back of his head that hit hard to the ground since he had cushioned his little sister from their fall, while pushing himself up. Remembering the younger girl in his lap, he wasted no more time looking down, only for Yaya to raise her head up at the same time. The kids bumped into each other with a loud thumb, they yelped and moved away. Yaya rubbed her forehead while her older brother massaged his chin. Both of them peeked at the other's teary face before bursting into laughter.

“Geez, you little imp," The boy said, pinching his little sister’s chubby cheek with affection, despite the girl’s whimper in displeasure. “What would you do if I weren’t here?”

“Biggg brotherrr,” Yaya whined and swatted his hand away. She pouted when her brother just chuckled at her poor attempt to get mad. Yaya huffed and hugged the boy, buried her face to his shoulder, oblivious that her action had caused the boy to blush.

“Hey, do you hate me?” She whispered to his ear. The boy viciously shook his head and embraced her small frame tight.

“No-No! I would never hate you.” He stammered. “Because I love Yaya the most!”

“Then why are you ruining my life?”

A chill was sent down the boy’s spine. Yaya roughly pushed him away and the boy could see hatred and anger rejected on her once sweet and loving eyes. The scene changed, the sky was painted black and the grass withered away under their feet. The two of them weren’t kids anymore but in their growth-up form. In a pure white dress, Yaya stood in front of him, her hijab flying in the wind. Her beautiful face was devoid of all emotion.

“Ya-Yaya, I can explain!” He stuttered, trying to reach for her. But no matter how he did, he couldn’t. His little sister slowly got further and further from him even though she didn’t move, or it was him who was being pulled back by an unknown source. “I just want… I just want what is good for you…!”

Yaya's humorless laughter cut him off. The young man could only stare in shock at his little sister.

“Do you ever hear yourself, brother? I’m fed up with your nonsense.” She hissed. Cold amber eyes glanced straight into his eyes. “Good for me... Killing my boyfriend is what you claimed is 'good for me'? Ha, don’t make me laugh, it's merely a way to satisfy your selfishness! Have you ever thought, ever asked me what I want or how I feel for once? Or you just decided it without asking me?!”

Each word was like a sharp knife stabbed at his heart, emotionally and physically. He had a hard time breathing. The young man bent over, his knees had collapsed beneath him and his hand grabbing his chest. Yet Yaya seemed to take no notice of his pain.

“Don’t act as if you own me! I’m not your pet dog and we are just foster brothers and sisters!” She spatted, and the wind began to pick up stronger. The young man opened his mouth, wanted to explain but nothing came out. In his blurred vision, there was a blind light appeared behind his little sister's back. It revealed a silhouette of a man whose face was unidentified by the light. He appeared to be wearing a black tuxedo and gave out his hand, which Yaya gladly accepted with her white-gloved one.

“I hope you will mind your own business from now on and let go of me if you are still considering we are family.” She said, throwing him one last look before following the mysterious man into the blind light.

“Farewell, dear brother.”

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”

Earthquake howled and shot out from under the blanket. He clenched his pajamas at the spot right over his heart tight, gasping for air. The golden eyes moved to the clock set on the bedside table. 3:00 am. The boy rubbed his face to wipe the sweats away then groaned.

This was the third night in a row he had encountered this same nightmare.

No longer in the mood for sleep, Earthquake dragged his tired body out of the bed and to the door. As soon as it was opened, he was immediately greeted by six other faces that looked like him poking out from their respective rooms. The boy hoped it wasn’t his scream that woke them up, but gauged on the dark circles under his brothers’ eyes, or swollen eyes in Thorn’s case, he didn’t need to worry about it much.

Thunderstorm looked like a boom that was about to burst, yet let Cyclone lean on him for a rare occasion. Earthquake guessed it was because the blue-eyed boy seemed to pass out right now, all his usual cheeriness and carefreeness had flown out the window. Blaze appeared the same with untidy clothes, tired as hell face, and a haunted Ice who continued chanting something like curses under his breath, which he carried under his armpit. The oldest one couldn't help but sweatdropped at them and wondered how his hot-blooded brother could put up with Ice recently, they shared a room after all... well, the boy had indeed become more cranky later.

Then again, he was in no better state to say. If Earthquake looked in a mirror at the moment, he bet he would see a walking corpse standing there instead of himself.

“Everyone dreamed of what I dreamed about, right?" Solar spoke, fatigue evident in his voice. The boy didn’t even bother wearing his orange glasses, revealing a pair of silver eyes watching his siblings nod. He pinched the bridge of his nose, apparently suffering a headache for the lack of sleep, and grumbled. “Twin, or should I say septuplet, telepathy is such a pain in the ass.”

Seven of them stood there, without knowing what to say, even Earthquake was too worn out to scowl his youngest brother for his poor choice of language. They exchanged gazes and let out a long sigh together.

“.... Coffee?” Earthquake suggested. Not having anything better left to do, the brothers hauled each other down the kitchen. Luckily that Tok Aba had yet come home or they’d be damn if he found out his beloved grandsons gulped down caffeine at three in the morning.

All this shit was because of a certain Alien jerk who didn’t know when to keep his mouth shut and their little sis’s coming date with a douchebag of a boyfriend, which was today by the way.
