"...27... Wow, that's all done huh?" - You said as you hovered around the Sea, looking for a way back to Sa's domain.

It had taken quite a while, exactly 3 weeks to examine all the bubble worlds that Sa had tasked you. But it is finally done, during the 3 weeks, you have gone back to Sa for around 9 times to give her some precious presents she found on the way.

But you have managed to finish it, maybe Sa would acknowledge your worth at last and be more reliable to you... You decided to drift back to her domain.

"Sa~ I'm back~" - You happily stepped inside, only to find that Sa is nowhere to be found, which you have never seen before. "Sa?"

You have always seen Sa sat on that same position every time you return, she rarely leaves that spot, let alone not being around inside her domain all of a sudden.

"Sa?"

"Sa?"

You wandered around her domain, passed through some high tech stuff placed inside various rooms, some of which looked ancient, haven't been touched for who knows how long, and some among them were recently activated, but you aren't sure if Sa used them mere hours ago or months, or even years ago before meeting you, the existence and purpose of these machines were not known to you.

You could say that she is a really mysterious person, but that is not your problem, and as a gesture of respect to her privacy, you stepped out of these rooms and started looking somewhere else, only to missing the only the displaying monitor in the corner of the room, which reads : Project Phosphorus, ongoing.

You continued to look for Sa until you confirmed that she is nowhere to be found in her domain. The sense of loneliness and emptiness in the domain soon overtook you, and kinda made you sad a bit.

Where could have she gone? Without telling you? Well I mean, after thinking for a while it is logical for Sa not to tell you all that, especially when you were still in the first steps of building a relationship with her...

You decided to search for her outside the domain.

"Sa?" - You swam around the Sea of Quanta near the domain, looking around for any traces of her.

You even went to ask some Quantum Shadows of her whereabouts, which didn't end really well.

At the end of the day, you decided to return to her domain... All lonely, and sad in that isolated- Wait a moment, this could be an opportunity, you could use this as a chance to cook dinner for Sa! That way she would be happy!

Just imagine how delightful she would become when she saw you prepared a steaming hot meal on the table after a long, hard-working day, and how much appreciation she would show you - the person who has been caring and loving her all along! What a great idea isn't it?

You quickly got to work, catching some ingredients...

Cooking intensely... Even some of the Quantum Shadows have to stop by and tell you to calm down.

And then displaying... You found some good furniture floating around in the Sea, I swear the Sea has a lot of nice stuff. As long as you can stop their decaying, they will be as good as new.

And when everything is finally prepared, the steaming hot dinner with various dishes, check. All the nice looking furniture to create a calming atmosphere, check. Your endless love and affection for Sa, check! Sa?

...

She's not back yet.

To be honest, you aren't really sure if she is going to return anytime soon, it might take days, or even weeks, or even months! That is not something you would like to bear with... Being all alone in this place... Can you really endure it? Being alone, waiting hopelessly for such...

As you sat there, thinking to yourself, you couldn't help but to feel a surge of emotion inside you, as you think about the whole relationship, it has always been one-sided, you know that. But yet you did not give up because you believed that things are finally going in the right direction! Just compare the changes in how Sa treats you in the beginning to when she talked to you in the last chapter! Surely you will see the big differences.

Heck, you aren't even sure if she is going to come back, maybe she has left to do her greater purpose... You couldn't help but to notice the tears flowing out of your eyes, uncontrollably...

"What am I doing... Crying? It's so unnatural for me to do so..." - You said as you tried to wipe away the tears, but more just coming out, making your attempts at wiping them futile, just as your relationship with Sa... No certainty on if it will be successful in the end...

As you sat there and sobbed quietly, you didn't notice Sa, who stepped through a portal back inside her domain, who is now looking at you, puzzled as to why you are crying, and then she looked at the dinner you have prepared, furniture you have laid out,... For a slight moment, she felt something familiar coming out from you... But it was quickly brushed away like the portal.

"..."

After silencing for a bit, she spoke.

"Why are you crying?" - She asked, her tone still as cold as ever. "I thought you were redeeming yourself from being such a pathetic person... Yet you somehow become more pathetic than ever."

You were stunned and looked up, turned around and saw Sa, with your eyes getting a bit pink from crying, you couldn't help but to stand up and walk over, hugged her. Sa was a bit surprised by your bold action, because this would be the first physical interaction she has had with you.

"..."

If it was Sa in the first chapters, she wouldn't even let you approach her that close, let alone letting you hug her, but after a bit, she grabbed your shoulders by hand and broke free from the hug.

"You haven't answered me yet, why were you crying? You looked more pathetic just like that." - Sa said. her eyes locked onto yours, scanning for any mischief in the upcoming answer.

"It's because... I'm so glad that you returned... Please don't leave me..." - You said, still sobbing a bit, your throat being held back by the tears.

"..." - Sa fully understood what you meant there, and she couldn't help but to let out a sigh. "Where else would I go? This is my place after all... If anything, you should be begging me not to throw you out in the sea."

She looked over to the table behind you. She knew that you had prepared those for her, as a show of your love towards her.

"Alright... Stop crying, you look pathetic, how is someone like you going to be capable of scanning worlds for me if you look so pathetic like a baby?" - Sa said, looking to stop you from crying like a child.

"Alright... You must be hungry right, my beloved?" - You said as you stepped to the side. Showing her the full view of the dinner table.

"..." - Sa gave up on how she has to explain to you that she does not need to eat or drink to sustain herself as a Higher Existence, who purely relies on the Quantum Energy in the Sea to grow more powerful. She just sat down reluctantly. "Alright... This is also to see if your cooking skills have improved or not."

She said, but then she saw you hadn't sat down, as well as there is only one set of silverware - which is for her alone, there is none for you or anyone else.

"You aren't going to eat?" - Sa asked you as her gaze averted back to you.

"No, you can enjoy it all to yourself, I made these for you." - You said, a poor excuse to be made.

Sa sighed in annoyance, with a flick of her hand, another set of silverware appeared on the table.

"Sit, you must have been tired after that assignment too, right?" - She asked, and this time, her tone was not as cold as before, but they felt rather... close. "You need these too, to work for me as your best self, right?"

You smiled as you sat down happily, enjoying the dinner with Sa... Also your very first shared meal with her.
