Avaleene's pov I watched in shock as my eyes roamed around trailing over the pale figures standing in a queue. They are definitely not humans. No! Not possible! Humans don't look like this!They don't have this kind of bluish skin tone, nor do they have blood red eyes like the people standing over here in front of me. What is this even?! What are they? Bloodless dead beings just standing?! Or are they infected with some kind of disease which makes them appear like this? Like ghosts to be precise!"Za.. Xavier" I stuttered as I felt my lips tremble and my breaths became heavier. I felt small drops of sweat beads forming over my temple and the tip of my nose as I gulped the saliva down my throat. "I will explain everything. Just give me some time. I know this is scary. I should have warned you beforehand but this totally got out of my mind. I am sorry, just behave normally for now please." He whispered in my ears and I blinked twice affirming him. Pulling out an elegant smile I looked around with a shine in my eyes making sure to look the finest. Normal to be honest, only I know what I am going through right now, a flood of questions is going inside my mind, what is going around? Who are these unusual people? Why does Xavier behave so mysteriously like he is hiding a mountain of things?! Truely, I am feeling very lonely at this moment. Even though Xavier is by my side still it feels like he isn't near, he is far away, I don't quite understand why I feel like this because his attitude towards me is gentle and good but I feel he hides things! And this is driving me crazy!Until and unless, I get to talk to him, it's impossible for me to be at peace! I can't find peace! I simply can't! All of the questions I have are not letting me be calm. I am facing anxiety and I can't even let it reflect on my face.I feel so frustrated right now. All of this is his fault, he hides things! He behaves mysteriously! He never communicates clearly! Their faces were well toned with unusually sharp features, from their nose to their piercing jaw, everything.The thing which attracted me the most was the shining gold badge with a symbol of bat over itOne thing which I could find similar between both the groups was their stoic faces. I don't remember Soldiers of Protophyta being so emotionless! As far as I recall, Soldiers of our dynasty are very lovely and warm natured, maybe they are behaving like this because of the presence of foreigners.The music got louder as we stepped inside the hall and everyone bowed in respect. At the opposite end of the entrance was standing a group of men looking similar to those scary soldiers standing out, the difference is, this group appeared to be more powerful. And their ruler seemed very evil to me. From a distance I could see his eyes gazing at me from top to bottom which made me feel utterly uncomfortable. He is taller and muscular compared to others from his Kingdom.Xavier's hand shifted down from my shoulder to my waist as we neared him. And this gesture helped me calm my nervous self. He is with me. I am dancing internally keeping a straight face."Oops, I guess, I angered the alpha.''
King Morris said and elevated his hands."It's not about disappointment but about Royal Decorum.'' Xavier replied."As you say. I forgot that being toxic is one of the major traits of you people."
