Chapter Twenty Six
ANAIS
I stayed in the tub for over an hour. My phone had been buzzing and ringing nonstop and all I could do was stare at it. There was nothing but silence and the droplets of water dripping from the faucet to the tub. I didn't know how to tell Dad or Coco or anyone...
I wished I could just sink my head in the water and disappear. I tried to recall all the things I could remember from last night. All I ended up with were small, blurry, jumpy flashbacks. I was taken to this cheap looking inn. I was carried and laid in bed. I was stripped off until I was naked. I remember being touched in all the places I only allowed Coco to touch. I remember him kissing me in between my thighs and I was moaning. What really made me cry hard was when I undressed earlier and saw dried semen smeared on me, on my tummy and private part. My womanhood was still sore from what happened last night as I hadn't been with anyone since I gave birth. I dipped my head into the water and stayed there for awhile before coming up and sucking in air in my deprived lungs.
Ano itong ginawa ko? Bakit? Bakit? Bakit?! Why did I let him do that? Why was I moaning? Did I want it? There were so many questions in my head. I felt like I was going to go crazy. I swear I didn't drink any liquor last night. It was just orange juice. He must've put something in there when I wasn't looking.
Tears fell from my eyes. Paano ako haharap sa anak ko nito? Would he be able to tell that Mommy slept with another man? I felt so cheap and dirty. When I felt like I'd let out all my tears, I got out of the tub and dried myself. I didn't want to look at myself in the mirror. I was afraid of what I'd see in there. Nagbihis ako at tumawid ako papunta sa bintana.
Coco's window was unlocked so I was able to smoothly slip in. Coco was in bed and he had his arms around our Cookie. They were both sleeping soundly. I could feel another batch of tears ready to come out. I took in a deep breath, trying to keep the waters at bay. I bent down, nagdadalawang-isip ako kung hahalikan ko ba si Cookie, who knew what this mouth did last night. I pressed a gentle kiss on my son anyway. I walked around Coco's side of the bed and slipped next to him. I wrapped one arm on his hips and kissed him on the shoulder. I leaned my head against his back and tears stung my eyes. I began to cry until I was sobbing. Naramdaman kong gumalaw siya.
"Anais?" He turned to face me and I was suddenly in his arms. "What happened? Ano yung sinasabi mo kanina? And where the hell have you been?"
"May nangyari sa amin ni Steve." I was sure he had a hard time understanding what I was saying from all the sobbing.
"What... what happened?" He kissed me on the forehead. "Tell me everything. What did he do to you?"
"I don't know..." Sunod sunod akong umiling. "I can't remember."
"Why?"
"Hindi ko alam. Basta nahilo na lang ako. He dragged me to his car and everything was a blur after that."
He shut his eyes and his jaw clenched. "He spiked your drink with something. And I even fucking tried to play cupid between you and him. I'm going to kill him!"
"I'm sorry, Coco. I should've listened when you told me to stay away from him." I buried my face into his chest and cried. My whole body shook. I tried not to cry too loud because I didn't want to wake Cookie up. "I feel disgusting..."
"You didn't enjoy it?"
I stopped crying and look up at him. "N-NO!"
"It's not like I forced myself on you..." He quietly said and then his eyes widened. "Wait, did I?"
"What?"
"You pulled me when I was undressing you and I thought you wanted to... Fuck. Tell me I didn't..." He exhaled like he was breathing all his soul out. "Anais! Did I or did I not force myself on you? You wanted it, didn't you? Damn it! Say something..."
"You..." My mouth gaped. "Ano'ng ibig mong sabihin?"
"Did you think I was Steve?" He looked at me in disbelief. "You were even moaning my name last night."
I sat up like a jack in the box and looked down at him. "You mean... I did it with you... Ikaw yung kasama ko?"
"Damn it! Did you really think you were having sex with Steve last night? Fuck! I can't believe this. Were you thinking of him while we were fucking last night?" He brushed his fingers through his hair.
"Gago ka!" I harshly wiped away my tears with my arm and I started punching him on the chest. "Hayop ka! I cried for nothing! Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa akin na ikaw yun? Halos gusto ko ng magpakamatay kanina! You asshole!"
"Paano ko sasabihin sa'yo, paglabas ko ng shower wala ka na. Binagsakan mo ako ng phone kanina. I tried calling you a hundred times you wouldn't friggin answer!" He exclaimed.
I collapsed on top of him and I cried even harder. This time it was in relief. The man I had sex with was still Coco, my baby's daddy. "You bastard, papatayin mo ba ako?"
"Shh... calm down..." He stroked my hair. "Kaya ba umalis ka kasi akala mo ako si Steve?"
"Yeah..." I answered in between my sobs.
"Would it make any difference if it was really Steve you were with?"
"Of course!" I exclaimed.
"Why?"
"Kasi gusto ko ikaw lang!" My lips tugged downward.
Coco cupped my face and made me look him in the eye. "There has never been anyone but me."
"I really thought... he did something... something to me." I couldn't speak properly because I was hiccuping and sobbing so hard from all the crying.
"Hindi ba nangako ako sa'yo noong bata pa tayo? I wouldn't let anyone hurt you." His voice was gentle and soothing.
I nodded my head and I closed my eyes when he kissed me on the forehead.
"But how did you know where to find me?"
"Drey was looking all over for you. Your friends were panicking and Drey told me they couldn't find you and you weren't answering your phone. After I talked to Drey, I received a message from you. You texted me a dot and I had this gut feeling that something was wrong. I texted you and you didn't text me back. We share the same iCloud remember? I tracked your location and luckily, the condo building where he took you was just a few minute drive away from here."
"I don't know what he could've done to me if you didn't show up..." The mere thought of that made me shiver in fear.
"I thank God I showed up at the right time. He was pulling you out of his car when I got there. You were slurring and wobbling. He told you got drunk and he was just trying to help you. Hindi ko alam kung maniniwala ako sa kanya noong panahon na iyon but I did punch him. My main priority was just to get you away from there, I'd deal with him after I make sure you're okay. I carried you and brought you to the nearest motel I could find. Hindi naman kita pwedeng iuwi ng ganon."
"Then you had sex with my drugged unconcious body?" I cocked a brow. "You were that horny?"
He frowned. "You weren't unconscious. You were practically rubbing yourself against my body. You told me to undress you because you were feeling hot and then you were pulling me to you and pushing my head down."
"I did not do that." I blushed.
"You did!" His eyes widened with amusement. "Sino ba naman ako para tumanggi sa grasya? I'm only a man, Anais. A man who hadn't been inside a pussy for more than a year."
"I don't mind as long as it was with you..." I let out a breath of relief.
"Ako lang talaga ang gusto mo?" I could hear the arrogance in his voice.
"Kasi sa'yo ako sanay saka ikaw naman ang tatay ng anak ko. We've done it a bunch of times before so it wouldn't make any difference if we do it again." I explained. "And you've been my friend since we were kids. I've known you more than any person in this universe. I trust you with everything including my body. Alam kong wala kang gagawin sa akin na hindi ko gusto."
He left a kiss on the tip of my nose and then kiss me on the lips. I kissed him back, his tongue swriling inside my mouth. We kissed until we were out breath. He pulled away and looked at me in the eyes. "Ni hindi ko maatim na isipin kung ano ang posibleng nagawa niya kung hindi ko kayo nasundan. He will pay for what he did, not only to you but all the women he took advantage of. I will fucking destroy him."
"Dada! Mymy!" Biglang nabaling ang atensyon namin kay Cookie. He already rolled to his tummy and was now crawling to us. Sumampa siya sa dibdib ni Coco at umupo doon. We both giggled as we watched him.
"Kiss Dada!" Coco puckered his lips. Bumaba ang ulo ni Cookie para halikan ang Daddy niya.
"Si Mymy din." I said and he did the same to me.
COCO
Steve was now alone. It was already three in the morning and he just got out from the club. My fingers were tingling as I clenched them again and again. Heat began spreading from the center of my body out to my limbs. I wanted to punch the motherfucker until his face was pulp. Pinigil ko ang sarili kong sugurin siya.
"I'm friggin nervous. I don't know if I can do this." Yvo's voice trembled. I could literally feel him shaking like a leaf on my back.
"Shh! Huwag ka ngang maingay!" Saway ni Tate sa kanya. "I'll tackle him when he walks by. You're not going to do anything but cover his mouth with a duct tape."
"I can't do this." He shook his head. "I think I'll just leave..."
"Fine, leave. We're going to murder him and pin you as the murderer." I threatened, my eyes narrowing at him. "He tried to fucking rape your cousin! Grow some balls!"
"I'm so nervous I feel like I'm going to throw up." Said the nerd.
"Suck it up." I said. "Okay, here he comes. On the count of three, jump on him."
"Do we go one, two, and then jump? Or one, two, three and jump?" Yvo asked, obviously stalling.
"When I say three you tackle him." I massaged my temples.
"I'm so frocking nervous." He admitted.
"One..." Steve started walking closer to where we were hiding. "Two... Three!"
Tate was the most well-built amongst us three. He was fucking football player, he was made for this. Dumagan siya sa likod ni Steve habang nakadapa ito sa semento. He pulled his arms to the back and tied him up. I went for the feet and Yvo with shaky hands, put duct tape over his mouth.
"Gago kang manyak ka!" I kicked him as he flopped on the ground like a fish out of water. "Nagkamali ka ng binangga. I'm going to make you regret you were born."
Tate carried him by his head and I carried him by his feet while Yvo looked around to see if anybody was around. Naghihintay na sa amin si Oca at Atoy. Ayaw kong makaagaw sila ng atensyon sa laki ba naman ng katawan ni Oca kaya iniwan ko na lang sila sa kotse. Oca opened the trunk of the car and we shoved Steve inside. They stood for awhile just staring at him, probably thinking of how they'd murder him.
"Ito ba yung rapper?" Asiwang tinitigan ni Atoy si Steve.
"Gago! Mukha ba yang si Gloc 9? Para kang tanga! Rapist, bobo!" Oca slapped the back of Atoy's head.
"Nawala sa isip ko." Naiiling na sabi ni Atoy.
"Gago, ang sabihin mo tumitira ka na naman kaya natutunaw yang utak mo."
"Ulol! Bagong buhay na 'to, tsong." Pagmamalaki niya.
"Mamaya ka sa akin, boy! Nag-iinit dugo ko sa mga katulad mo!" Sinampal ni Oca ang pisngi ni Steve.
I shut the trunk close and we went inside. Si Oca ang nagdrive dahil uberdriver na siya ngayon, sa kanya itong kotseng sinasakyan namin at si Atoy naman ang umupo sa tabi niya. I sat on the backseat with Tate and Yvo.
"I can't do this. I wanna go home." Nanginginig na sabi ni Yvo.
"Relax." Tate patted his shoulder.
"How can you tell me to relax? We're with two ex-convicts and we have Steve in the trunk! We literally just kidnapped him! I don't want to go to jail!"
"Jail isn't a bad place, trust me, I've been there." I grinned.
"Uuwi na talaga ako. Ni hindi nga alam ni Nanay at Tatay na wala ako sa bahay saka may exam pa ako bukas."
"Ano ba yan? Puro ka satsat, gusto mo bang ilipat din kita sa likod ng kotse?" Oca said in the most intimidating tone. He looked at me in the rearview mirror and winked as if telling me to play along. I quietly snickered.
"No... I'm just going to shut up." Yvo sank into his seat.
"Drive on humps. Baka nakatulog na yan sa likod, paalugin niyo naman." I suggested. And Oca did. Ilang humps ang dinaanan namin at nagpaalog-alog kami sa loob ng kotse. It was almost as if we were off road driving with a 4x4. I could only imagine how bad it is where Steve was at.
"Siguro puro bukol na yung ulo ng gagong yun." Tate chuckled.
"He could have head trauma. Paano pag napatay natin siya?" Yvo anxiously asked.
"Eh di ililibing natin. Problema ba yun?" Natatawang sabi ni Atoy.
"I don't know what I've gotten myself into." Yvo moaned.
The car stopped at an abandoned building. We opened the trunk and took him out, carelessly dropping him on the ground. He let out a groan of pain. I pulled the tape from his lips and he screamed, leaving a red rectangular mark on his face. We all circled around him.
"Fuck you, Cordova!" He said.
I kicked him in the stomach and he groaned in pain. "You son of a bitch!"
"You don't fight fair! Nakatali na nga ako, nagtawag ka pa ng mga kasama." He said through gritted teeth.
"Hindi ba sa ganitong laban ka naman magaling? You don't fight fair either. You drug women and take advantage of them. I'm just giving you a taste of your medicine. Now you know what it's like to feel helpless, don't you?" I snided.
"Wala akong alam sa sinasabi mo!"
"Nagsisinungaling ka pa eh!" Tate kicked him. "Just admit what you fucking did!"
I grabbed him by his hair and made him look up at me. "Yung babaeng pinagtangkaan mo ina ng anak ko! I will shred you into pieces, Steve! I will give you hell!"
"Why are you blaming me?" He smile menacingly. "Malandi lang talaga yang ina ng anak mo. What do you expect from a girl who got pregnant at a young age? She's a loose woman! Yung mga babaeng katulad niya pangkama lang."
"FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!" I punched in the face. "You don't know anything about her!"
He let out a dark laugher. "You were right, I drugged her. I've drugged alot of women and I've succeeded on getting my way with most of them. If you didn't come I would fucked the shit out of her. Damn! I would've filled her with my cum and impregnate her. Bibigyan ko ng kapatid ang anak niyo. Iyon lang naman ang silbi niya hindi ba, ang magpabuntis?"
Something inside me snapped. My hands twitched and suddenly I was punching him over and over. All I saw was red at that time. I punched him until my knuckles hurt.
"You disgusting son of a bitch!" Hindi na nakapagpigil si Tate. Sinipa niya si Steve.
"You pecker-headed horse sucker, turd taster, son of a biscuit eater." Yvo suddenly charged at him. He joined in and started punching and kicking. I had never seen him this violent or angry before. I stopped when he was black and blue but Yvo kept on going. Tate and I grabbed Yvo on each arm and had to pull him away. "Wala ka bang Nanay ha? Wala ka bang kapatid na babae?"
"Calm down!" Tate slapped him on the chest, trying to pull him back from what seemed like a trance.
"People like him doesn't deserve to live!" He exclaimed, his chest heaving up and down with anger. "How could he do that to Anais? How could he do that to all those women?"
"He's a fucking psychopath!" I answered.
"I'm going to kill him!" Agad tumalima si Yvo. He got ready to attack Steve again but we held him down.
"We're not going to kill him. We're just here to teach him a lesson." I told him in a low voice.
"Just fucking calm down, will you?" Tate scolded.
"Ano na plano? Ililibing na ba natin to ng buhay?" Tanong ni Oca.
"Hindi, kosa! Dalhin kaya natin 'to kay Alma, wasak yan pag nagkataon! Panigurado tatahiin yan pagkatapos." Atoy grinned.
"Toy, nabirginan ka na ba ng bakla?" Natatawang tanong ni Oca. He carelessly grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him up.
Steve's eyes widened in horror, he shook his head vigorously.
"No, please don't." He begged.
"Mag-eenjoy ka. Magugustuhan mo din yun. Parang kagat lang ng langgam sa una." Sabi ni Atoy.
"Papatikim namin sa'yo yung mga ginagawa mo sa babaeng nabiktima mo. Let's see how you'll like it." I snided.
"Fuck you!" He spat.
"Aba! Gagong 'to! Pak you ka din with feelings! Pakshet ka pa!" Atoy shouted directly in front of his face.
They threatened him and mentally tortured him. Kulang pa nga ito sa lahat ng babaeng nabiktima niya. I was getting Anais and the women he had drugged their revenge. I wanted to make sure that after this, he won't be doing it again to any woman.
From our grand finale, we drove him to school and snuck inside. The sun was just starting to rise at walang katao-tao sa loob ng campus. We took him to the top floor of the building in the front entrance where everyone would see him later on.
"Hubad." I demanded.
"What the hell are you planning to do?" He glared at me.
"Hindi mo ba naririnig? Hubad daw!" Oca slapped the back of his neck. "Walang nang tanong tanong!"
His eyes narrowed spitefully at all of us.
"Titingin tingin ka pa! Baka gusto mong ibato kita sa bintana! Isang pitik ka lang, Toy!" Oca scowled at him.
He slowly undressed until he was left with not a single clothing on his body.
"Tangina! Etits ba yan?" Natatawang sabi ni Atoy habang nakatingin sa hubad na katawan ni Steve. "Kasing liit lang yan ng hinliliit ko."
"Now I know. You're compensating for something." Natatawang sabi ko. "Eh mas malaki pa yung sa anak ko kaysa yung sa'yo."
ANAIS
"Bye, Dad!" I gave him a kiss on the cheek before I pushed the car door open.
"Bye, honey. Do your best." He smiled.
"ANAIS!" Audrey came running to me the moment I got out of the car. Her face was pale and her voice urgent. She suddenly grabbed me by my wrist. "You have to come see this!"
Drey and the girls were finally were able to let out a sigh of relief when we saw each other after what had happened the night after the party. They apologized and they kind of blame themselves for leaving me with Steve pero hindi ko naman sila sinisisi. Nobody knew it wasn't going to happen. I, myself, couldn't even believe he'd do that to me. Nang makita ako ni Coco, he asked the girls to cover up for me kaya walang alam si Dad na I was with him the whole night.
"Bakit?" I asked as she dragged me inside.
There were a crowd of people when we got there. All of them were looking up and pointing and taking pictures with their phones. Sinundan ko ang tingin nila at tumingala ako. I gasped when I saw Steve.
He was hanging upside down on the very center top window of the building, completely naked. His legs were spread wide open with two ropes tied around each of his ankles. Something was written what looked like sharpies in big bold letters on his stomach. It says 'Rapist ako. Huwag tularan.'
"I have to fucking pee! Pakawalan mo na ako!" Steve begged.
"Then pee!" Coco suddenly said from the window next to where Steve was tied.
"Fuck you, Cordova!" He shouted.
Everyone watched in horror as liquid started to ooze from his thing. You know how gravity works. It dripped down his torso and streamed to his face. Some people laughed and others were disgusted.
"Make him stop. He won't listen to me. He's so gonna get in trouble!" Nag-aalalang sabi ni Audrey.
