26 Disinterested Khushi
Part 26 Disinterested Khushi
Khushi rushed to Arnav and shook hands with him. Arnav did that, looking at Rajesh, who was fuming. Arnav smiled at Amrita but didn't give heed to Rajesh.
Arnav's guards followed him. Arnav gestured for them to go inside. They went inside to donate blood.
"Do they also donate?" Khushi asked excitedly.
"Of course, yes... this camp is for your birthday, after all..." Arnav smiled.
"Hello, Arnav, we are glad to have you here..." Shashi shook hands with him.
"Namaste, beta... how are your mother, father, sister and jeejaji?" Garima asked.
"All is fine, aunty. How are you?"
"By God's grace, we are fine..."
Arnav looked at Amrita.
"Hello, madam, how are you?" he asked Amrita.
"Doing great as always... I didn't expect you here." Amrita said.
"We know him and his family. We met them once in the temple." Garima said.
"I see..." Amrita raised her brows.
"He is the one who helped me in arranging for this camp," Khushi said without hesitation, which surprised Shashi and Garima. Khushi didn't tell them about it.
"I would have helped you if you had told me..." Rajesh said.
Before Khushi answered, Arnav diverted her from answering to the leech.
"Mom said you came to our home..."
"Yeah, you were not at home..." Amrita said.
Rajesh looked at her in shock.
"Yeah, I came to invite you to my son's wedding announcement party. You should come..."
"How would I ignore the great Amrita Malik's invitation?"
Amrita smiled. Rajesh was more surprised than Guptas.
"You are here to donate blood, right?"
Arnav pressed his lips.
"Carry on..." Amrita said.
Arnav looked at Khushi.
"Shall we?" Khushi asked Arnav.
He nodded and followed her. Khushi made him sit on the recliner and called the volunteer to take his blood. Rajesh was looking at those who were talking smilingly. He didn't like them talking to each other so casually. Khushi didn't even look at him, but was talking to Arnav as if he were her boyfriend.
"Shall we go?" Amrita asked.
"Oh... Khushi..."
"She is busy today. Don't disturb her. You can talk to her later. Let's go..."
Amrita walked out. Rajesh and Avinash followed her. When they came to the car,
"Mom, why did you invite ASR to my wedding announcement party?"
"I invited the most important businessmen. He is one among them..."
"I don't think he deserves your invitation."
"What do you mean? If he doesn't, who would?"
"He thinks himself an upper hand... he had a dirty attitude..."
"Accept it or not, he is indeed an upper hand in what he steps into. And the attitude, that's what he is. You should learn it from him."
"I don't like him talking to Khushi."
"Why? Is talking to her wrong?"
Rajesh was silent.
"If you dominate her like this, she will hate you... Be careful. Handling a girl is not easy."
"If he doesn't like her talking to Arnav, she should not..." Avinash said.
Amrita looked at him with blazing eyes.
"You don't have to tell how a girl should be treated. The man who doesn't know the value of a relationship has no right to teach it to others." She shouted.
"Mom, relax... he just talked for me."
"I know what's right. I'm not that blunt to get his ideas..." She said sharply.
Avinash became silent.
In the meantime,
Arnav stood up, finishing the donation. Khushi passed him a juice glass. He took it from her smilingly. He saw his guards were drinking the juice.
"Call me if you want anything," Arnav said.
"Are you going?" She asked.
"Don't you want me to go?"
"Do you think I will say YES?"
Arnav smiled.
"My mom and sister will also come later..."
"Is it?"
"Yeah, I told them about the camp. They are interested."
"That's nice... by the way, why did you arrange for this camp?"
Arnav smiled.
"Won't you tell me?"
"To meet Amrita Malik..."
"Why?"
"I was not at home when she came home. That's why I wanted to meet her. I got a chance to meet her with Rajesh."
"He is an irritating idiot."
"Yeah... he is... highly irritated. If my guess is right, he will call you and order you not to talk to me." He smirked.
"Who cares?"
"What will you tell him if he says so?"
"Who is he to order me? I will talk to anyone I like. He has no right to control me. If he tells me anything, I will call Amrita Malik. I will tell her about her son, stop the wedding."
"She won't stop the wedding. She has almost invited everyone to the party. It's her prestige issue now. So, she won't stop the wedding."
"Then what will you do?" Khushi asked worriedly.
"Do you think I'm going to seek her permission?"
Khushi sighed.
"I don't know what you are planning."
"You will get to know that soon. Until then, wait..."
She nodded, pressing her lips.
"I'm leaving..."
Khushi nodded.
"Call me..."
She again nodded.
"Bye..." Arnav walked out. He stopped seeing Shashi.
"Bye, uncle..."
"Bye... convey my regards to your parents."
"They will come here, uncle."
"Wow, that's great..."
"Bye, uncle..." he left.
Shashi came to Khushi.
"I thought to leave, but Arnav said, his parents are coming."
Khushi nodded yes.
"No problem if you want to leave. I will manage." She said.
Shashi looked at her sharply.
"How could I leave after knowing their arrival? What will Arnav think about us? He helped you to arrange for this camp, after all..."
"He won't think anything. He knew about people."
Shashi frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing..." She left.
Shashi frowned. He could say Khushi behaved oddly. She was all right yesterday. What happened to her? He thought.
Shashi saw Raizadas coming. He called Garima.
"Garima, they came..." he said, advancing them.
Garima also went to them smilingly.
"Nice to meet you again. Arnav beta told us you would come. That's why we are waiting..." Shashi said.
"I see..." Arvind said.
"We are glad to have you here," Garima said.
"It seems the camp grabbed enough crowd..." Shyam said.
"Yeah, Arnav helped Khushi in arranging it..." Shashi said.
"Yeah, he told us."
"We are planning to come to RM..." Shashi said.
"To invite us to Khushi's wedding announcement party?" Anjali asked.
"Yes,"
"Amritaji already invited us," Ratna said.
"Yeah, she told us. We didn't know she would do that so quickly. If Khushi had not arranged the camp, we would have come to your house today..." Shashi said, embarrassed.
"No, problem, Guptaji. However, we will come..."
Shashi smiled awkwardly.
Khushi led them to the hall and made them donate blood. They left, taking Gupta's leave.
"Why didn't you say that Arnav arranged for this camp?" Shashi asked.
"So what if he arranged it?" Khushi asked plainly.
"You could have asked me, then I would have arranged it..."
"So what if he arranged it?" she asked the same question again.
"You shouldn't have disturbed him..."
"You were busy arranging something... that's why I didn't disturb you."
"Something? Do you mean your birthday?"
"I didn't mean my birthday, but my wedding announcement party."
Shashi and Garima looked at each other.
"And, for your kind information, Arnav didn't feel it as a disturbance. He did that wholeheartedly."
Shashi was supposed to say something, but he stopped as Khushi's friend called her.
"Excuse me..." She left the place.
"Doesn't she seem uninterested in the wedding arrangement?" Shashi asked.
"Yes, I thought she adopted the change..."
"I too thought the same. Don't know what's in her mind... we are arranging for her wedding. She should not do anything odd at the party..." Shashi sighed.
To be continued...
