DESTINY CHAPTER 36 [17th April 2010]
It was very early in the morning and Sunny was all packed and ready to leave. It was quite a distance from the airport and she had a flight to catch.
Taeyeon was all packed too.
Apparently as the both of them were out yesterday, Sunny mentioned to the manager that they could have one room back today.
She said that since she was leaving both Soo-yeon and Taeyeon could share the room.
Soo-yeon of course agreed since she felt bad imposing on the manager of Treetops Lodge & Estate.
Sunny gave both Soo-yeon and Taeyeon a hug goodbye before she left. Soo-yeon and Sunny had gotten considerably closer since the trip. It was hard not to since the both of them had to spend so much time together.
“I’ll see the both of you back in Korea,” Sunny said before she left.
“Oh and do whatever it is you feel like doing since this entire experience is a once in a lifetime chance,” Sunny hinted before she got into the car.
It was meant for Taeyeon and it could clearly be interpreted as, “You better confess to her and make something happen. This is the perfect place to do it!”
Taeyeon waved Sunny goodbye and felt her stomach knot up. She was feeling nervous to be left alone with Soo-yeon.
“So what should we do now?” Soo-yeon asked Taeyeon sweetly.
“Breakfast?” was all that came out of Taeyeon’s lips.
“Sure,” Soo-yeon agreed and the both of them headed to the dining area.
There weren’t many people around yet since it was really quite early.
“So do you consider me as a close friend?” Soo-yeon asked out of the blue.
“Yeah you can say so,” Taeyeon replied without revealing the fact that she was practically in love with this ‘close friend’ of hers.
“Hmmm...ok..” Soo-yeon nodded, “..so how many close friends do you have?”
“I have quite a few,” Taeyeon said after much thought.
“I see...are many of them girls?” Soo-yeon continued with her probe.
“Mmmm...it’s a fair mix,” Taeyeon said after a while.
“Why are you asking such questions early in the morning?” Taeyeon asked even though she knew why.
“I’m just curious,” Soo-yeon said.
“Anyway how’s your rib doing?” Soo-yeon said as she pointed to the side of Taeyeon’s body.
“It’s improving,” Taeyeon said as her eyes fell on Soo-yeon’s hands.
She picked up Soo-yeon’s hands gingerly, “It seems like you’ve gotten a bad scar yourself,” Taeyeon said as she ran her fingers along the scar on Soo-yeon’s left hand.
“You’re one to speak,” Soo-yeon said as she held on to Taeyeon’s right wrist.
The scar on Taeyeon’s arm was longer, but there was a break where Soo-yeon’s arm once was that night.
It was a disjointed line which became thicker nearing the wrist.
“Hey look,” Soo-yeon said she grabbed Taeyeon’s arm in the same way as she did the night the mugging occured, “the scar connects.”
Taeyeon smiled and said to her, “You’re so silly, who gets so excited about a scar. Isn’t it going to affect your career?”
Soo-yeon shook her head, “It doesn’t matter, it’s my face that sells not my hands. Plus there’s always photoshop.”
After breakfast, Soo-yeon suggested to go for a stroll in the woods. She heard from the guide that there were less strenuous trails that Taeyeon could actually go on.
The both of them headed out and took a leisurely stroll.
It was a beautiful trail and the both of them took many pictures.
There were times during that walk that Taeyeon had the impulse to confess, but she did not in the end.
***
Soo-yeon and Taeyeon were back )n the room. Taeyeon was watching TV and Soo-yeon was reading Taeyeon’s book.
Soo-yeon’s phone rang suddenly.
“Oh it’s my sister,” Soo-yeon said as she answered the video call.
“Unnie, I miss you,” Taeyeon heard Soo-jung say.
“I know I miss you too,” Soo-yeon replied.
“It’s a pity you wouldn’t be able to spend your birthday with me this year,” Soo-jung continued.
“Silly, it’s just a birthday. I’ll have plenty of birthday’s with you,” Soo-yeon said pacifying her little sister.
Taeyeon cocked her ears when she heard that.
Soo-yeon’s birthday? Is it Today?
Although the both of them were close, Soo-yeon and Taeyeon never did mention their birth dates before.
“So how will you be celebrating your birthday tomorrow?” Soo-jung asked her sister.
“I don’t know and it doesn’t matter,” said Soo-yeon quickly.
Taeyeon pretended that she did not hear anything and she continued with her show.
A few moments later Taeyeon stood up and said to Soo-yeon, “You want any food? I’m going out to get something.”
Soo-yeon shook her head and continued with her conversation.
Taeyeon then left the room.
She knew it was too late to get Soo-yeon a gift. She knew it was almost close to impossible since she was stranded in the lodge with Soo-yeon.
It was then that she suddenly recalled that Treetop Lodge had their own little shop selling stuff.
Taeyeon quickly walked to the place and looked around for something to buy. The items were really expensive so Taeyeon ended up purchasing nothing at all.
Taeyeon then thought of something.
It took her a while but she was quickly done.
She kept whatever it was she made for Soo-yeon and kept it in her pocket.
As she was walking back to the room, Taeyeon thought of what Sunny said before she left.
Will this be my opportunity to confess? When I present her with her birthday gift?
Taeyeon thought long and hard of all the possible things that she could say or do but it all seemed too cheesy.
Taeyeon gave up thinking after a while.
***
That night, the manager had an early birthday dinner thrown specially for Soo-yeon since she he would not be around the next day.
Soo-yeon had steak and a few glasses of red wine to compliment her steak.
It was such a happy night so Taeyeon decided to indulge in a few glasses herself.
By the time the night was over, the two girls were slightly tipsy.
They thanked the manager for the meal and returned to their rooms.
Soo-yeon showered first followed by Taeyeon.
When Taeyeon was done showering, she saw that Soo-yeon was already laying in bed and sound asleep.
Taeyeon climbed into bed and settled beside Soo-yeon.
She propped herself up beside Soo-yeon and just stared at Soo-yeon’s face.
Soo-yeon looked like an angel with her delicate features. Her cheeks were still flushed from the wine.
Soo-yeon has such beautiful features,
Taeyeon thought to herself as she gently placed her hands on Soo-yeon’s cheeks.
They were warm to the touch.
Taeyeon ran her fingers gently down Soo-yeon’s cheek and along her chin.
Taeyeon’s eyes fell onto Soo-yeon’s pink cherry lips and her heartbeat quickened.
Soo-yeon’s lips were calling out to her.
DESTINY CHAPTER 37 [17th April 2010]
Taeyeon inched forward bit by bit. It was almost as if there was an invisible hand pushing Taeyeon forward.
Just as Taeyeon was an inch away from Soo-yeon’s lips, she managed to stop herself with whatever little self control she had left.
Taeyeon heaved a sigh of relief with the realization that she had managed to stop herself from doing the unthinkable.
It must be the alcohol,
Taeyeon sighed.
Her eyes flitted over to Soo-yeon’s phone when she heard it vibrate on the bedside table.
It must be midnight already,
Taeyeon thought to herself.
When her eyes returned to Soo-yeon’s face she saw a pair of beautiful round eyes staring back at hers.
Taeyeon got a shock and her ears turned red in an instant.
They look of surprise in Taeyeon’s eyes softened into a loving gaze and something sparked between the both of them.
Neither one moved away.
They were both lost in the gaze, when Soo-yeon made an unexpected move.
Without saying anything, Soo-yeon moved forward and connected with Taeyeon at the lip.
Taeyeon shut her eyes as she took in every bit of the kiss. It was an amazing feeling.
Soo-yeon’s lips were smooth and incredibly soft.
Taeyeon has had a fair share of kisses but she had never felt anything like this before.
It was an extremely tender kiss.
Taeyeon parted her lips to take in a breath of air.
Soo-yeon too did the same.
Taeyeon could feel Soo-yeon’s sweet warm breath on her lips and it sent a tingle down her spine.
If there was anything that could be described as magical, this was it.
Soo-yeon slowly extended her tongue and its tip found its way to Taeyeon’s bottom lip.
Taeyeon ran her own tongue slowly over her own lips and it met Soo-yeon’s.
Soo-yeon’s tongue was warm and soft.
The both of them broke into a slow and passionate kiss.
All that could be heard in the room was the sound of their breathing and the wet sound of their tongue gently caressing each other’s lips.
After sharing a long kiss, Soo-yeon pulled away, breathless. “I have been waiting for this moment for the longest time.”
Taeyeon replied, equally breathless, “So have I.”
“Happy Birthday,” Taeyeon said tenderly.
“Do you know what my birthday wish is?” Soo-yeon asked as she gazed deeply into Taeyeon’s eyes.
“No, why don’t you tell me,” Taeyeon said softly.
“I wish that the both of us can be a in relationship, one that will never change over time.”
Taeyeon nodded and said, “there is nothing more I want than that.”
Soo-yeon surged forward once more and gave Taeyeon a gently peck on the lips, “You won’t ever regret will you?”
“How can I ever? There’s nothing I want more than to be with you,” Taeyeon whispered tenderly.
Taeyeon smiled and gave Soo-yeon a tender kiss on her forehead.
Taeyeon got out of bed and walked towards her bag.
“Where are you going?” Soo-yeon asked instantly.
“No where,” Taeyeon said without looking back. She reached into her bag and took out what she made for Soo-yeon earlier in the day.
It was not much, but Taeyeon weaved it by herself.
Taeyeon slipped it into her pocket and returned to Soo-yeon’s side.
Taeyeon sat on the bed, just beside Soo-yeon and said, “This isn’t much and I didn’t know what I could get for you, so I made you this.”
Taeyeon removed her hands from her pocket to reveal a bracelet woven with grass.
“You made this?” Soo-yeon said, eyes wide with amazement.
“Yes I did, and I want you to always remember this birthday. It’s the birthday that I become yours,” Taeyeon said feeling slightly abashed. She was not used to saying such.
Soo-yeon sat up and planted a kiss on Taeyeon’s cheeks, “It’s the birthday where I become yours too.”
They both of them smiled shyly before climbing in bed together.
Soo-yeon cuddled up to Taeyeon the moment they were in bed.
“So...the girl you’ve been in love with all along...is me?” Soo-yeon asked shyly.
“Of course it is, why do you think I returned the kiss you initiated just now,” Taeyeon said bluntly.
“I would hit you if you were fully recovered,” Soo-yeon said as she stuck her tongue out at Taeyeon.
“You know that you look so adorable whenever you do that?” Taeyeon confessed.
“You mean when I do this?” Soo-yeon stuck her tongue out again.
Taeyeon smiled and replied, “Yes, silly.”
“Who’s the silly one,” Soo-yeon said as she stroked Taeyeon’s scar.
The scar tingled when Soo-yeon stroked it.
“I just didn’t want you to come to harm,” Taeyeon admitted, “I don’t think I can live if you came to harm.”
“What makes you think I can if you did? Do you know how worried I was when you were laying in bed those few days,” Soo-yeon said as she sulked.
“Stop sulking my dear, though you still look as beautiful when you sulk,” Taeyeon said sincerely.
Her words brought a smile to Soo-yeon’s face.
Soo-yeon lifted her head and kissed Taeyeon on the lips.
Taeyeon smiled when she did that. It was without a doubt the sweetest thing she has ever tasted on her lips.
“I’m glad we met,” Taeyeon said from the bottom of her heart.
“Me too,” Soo-yeon said equally sincere.
“I think I was born for this,” Taeyeon said genuinely, “I think I was born for you.”
“And so I am for you,” Soo-yeon said as she caressed Taeyeon’s cheeks lovingly.
The both of them took a breath and enjoyed the embrace.
A brief moment later, the pair of them broke the silence as they both said
I love you
at the exact same time.
It could not be more coincidental than that.
“It seems like we really are made for each other,” Taeyeon said as she gazed at Soo-yeon.
“Yes it does,” Soo-yeon said sweetly as she planted yet another kiss on Taeyeon’s lips.
DESTINY CHAPTER 38 [18th April 2010]
Taeyeon woke up and the first thing she saw were Soo-yeon’s beautiful round eyes staring back at her.
“Oh...you’re awake...why didn’t you wake me?” Taeyeon asked as she rubbed her eye with her free hand. Her other arm was wrapped around Soo-yeon.
Soo-yeon smiled sweetly before replying, “Because I wanted to stay in your arms for a longer time. Don’t you want the same?”
“I do,” Taeyeon said as her ears turned red. She was still not used to being so expressive.
As much as she was witty and smart and even good with words, there was one thing she was lacking in.
When it came to emotional responses and speaking her heart, Taeyeon would get a score of ten out of a hundred.
If she had not had the glass of wine the night before, she would probably not have said all those words.
It was a good thing that the manager of the lodge threw Soo-yeon a birthday dinner.
“So what would you like to do today birthday girl?” Taeyeon asked.
“It doesn’t matter as long as I get to spend the whole day with you,” Soo-yeon replied.
“Ok in that case let’s wash up first,” Taeyeon said as she waited for Soo-yeon to get up. After all, Soo-yeon was leaning on her arm.
Soo-yeon got up and as she did, she held on to Taeyeon’s hand.
Taeyeon got out of bed and they walked hand-in-hand to the bathroom.
“We can’t brush our teeth if we keep holding hands,” Taeyeon said as she turned to Soo-yeon.
Soo-yeon had been looking at her and smiling ever since she got up.
“Who says we can’t,” Soo-yeon said with a defiant smile.
Soo-yeon picked up the tooth paste and requested for Taeyeon to open the cap.
Once that was done, she handed Taeyeon her toothbrush and Soo-yeon proceeded to squeeze some toothpaste on it.
“So now what smart little one,” Taeyeon said as she held her toothbrush in one hand and Soo-yeon’s hand in the other.
“Now this,” Soo-yeon said as she guided Taeyeon’s hand so that the toothbrush was securely in the side of Taeyeon’s mouth, “and there you go, a free hand to help me with the toothpaste,” Soo-yeon said with a grin.
Taeyeon did as Soo-yeon requested and the both of them started brushing their teeth together.
It was a while before they were done but their hands never left each other.
“Are you really not going to let go of my hand? We have to–” Taeyeon trailed off as she could not bring herself to complete her sentence.
The thought of them showering together made Taeyeon’s ears turn an even deeper red.
“I’m not letting go until I do this,” Soo-yeon said.
Taeyeon turned to Soo-yeon and asked, “do wha–”
Before she could finish her sentence Soo-yeon pressed her lips against Taeyeon’s.
Taeyeon’s ears were really hot by now and so were her cheeks.
It was a fact that she was enjoying the touch of their lips, but she was equally shy about it.
Soo-yeon pulled away, leaving Taeyeon wanting for more.
“You can shower now, I’ll wait for my turn,” Soo-yeon said as she left the bathroom quickly.
Taeyeon stood rooted to the ground.
She could still feel the touch of Soo-yeon’s lips lingering on hers.
Taeyeon touched her lips and smiled.
Soo-yeon was her dream come true.
If only she had confessed earlier and not dragged it all until today, she could have enjoyed this sooner.
But then again if they had not been suppressing their emotions this much, would the both of them really know that they would want each other so badly?
Taeyeon snapped out of her dreamy state and quickly proceeded with her shower.
It did not take long before she was done.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, she saw Soo-yeon sitting on the bed and smiling to herself. In her hands were the grass bracelet Taeyeon wove for her.
Taeyeon made a mental note to get a real gift for Soo-yeon once they returned to civilization.
Soo-yeon had her turn in the shower and she was out in a jiffy.
“That’s quick,” Taeyeon said as she looked up from her book. She lost count how many times she read her book, but it was still a good read.
“Well I wanted to spend as much time as I possibly can with you,” Soo-yeon said without a qualm.
Taeyeon’s only reply to that was a smile.
Taeyeon put her book aside before asking, “So what would the lovely birthday girl like to do today?”
“Spend time wit–” before Soo-yeon completed her sentence Taeyeon interrupted, “Besides spending time with me. It’s your birthday, we should do something.”
Soo-yeon laughed, “I don’t care what we do as long as I get all the time in the world with you. You already gave me the best birthday gift in the whole wide world!”
Taeyeon could feel the heat in her ears once again. Soo-yeon had a knack for making her ears go on ‘red alert’.
“I heard that the view from Mount Ngongotaha is beautiful, would you like to go there today?”Taeyeon suggested.
“Sure, I’ll go anywhere as long as it’s with you,” Soo-yeon said.
“Great, let’s arrange for a vehicle to send us there,” Taeyeon said as she picked up the phone in the room.
***
It was quite the drive before they arrived at the foot of Mount Ngongotaha.
Taeyeon made her way to purchase tickets for the gondola ride and they proceeded to the boarding platform.
When they were there it was still not so crowded so the both of them managed to get a gondola all to themselves.
It was just what the both of them needed – some privacy.
The higher the gondola got, the more beautiful the scenery was.
It was quiet and the view was breathtaking.
Throughout the gondola ride, the both of them took pictures here and there, but when they were not, Soo-yeon was practically glued to Taeyeon.
If people saw them, they would think that Soo-yeon was more in love than Taeyeon was.
It was an unfair judgement since Taeyeon was very much in love, but much reserved when it came to translating her feelings into words or even actions.
When they arrived at the top, the view was simply amazing.
Soo-yeon had Taeyeon by the arms and the both of them went for a walk on the scenic walking trail.
It was a good thing that Soo-yeon brought her camera along.
Taeyeon specifically took a few individual shots of Soo-yeon so that she could show it to Soo-jung when she was back.
After one particular picture, Soo-yeon returned to Taeyeon’s side and attempted to hook on to Taeyeon’s arm.
When she did that, Taeyeon reached for her hands and pushed it away gently, “Stop hooking my arm,” Taeyeon said.
Soo-yeon was lost for a moment and it was evident she felt hurt as well, “You don’t want me to hook on to your arm?”
“mmmhmmm,” Taeyeon nodded as she took Soo-yeon’s hands in hers.
Taeyeon slipped her fingers gently between Soo-yeon’s fingers and held her hand for the rest of the walk.
She wanted to feel Soo-yeon’s hands in hers.
DESTINY CHAPTER 39 [18th April 2010]
“Are you hungry? Let’s go for lunch,” Taeyeon said to Soo-yeon as they reached the end of the trail.
Soo-yeon nodded, “Let’s do.”
They settled for a buffet at a restaurant.
After they got their food, they returned to their seats at the corner of the open air terrace.
“So why do you like to take the corner seat?” Soo-yeon asked Taeyeon as they sat down.
“I guess it’s just a habit, people take lesser notice and there’s more privacy,” Taeyeon explained.
“Do you think it’s because of your job or you just prefer it?” Soo-yeon asked with curiosity.
“A little bit of both I guess?” Taeyeon said with a laugh.
“You’re such a private person aren’t you, keeping everything to yourself” Soo-yeon said as she wrinkled her nose at Taeyeon, “That’s why you never tried confessing.”
“I couldn’t, what if I lost your friendship,” Taeyeon revealed her previous concern.
“You wouldn’t,” Soo-yeon said as she touched Taeyeon’s wrist gently, “but it shows that I mean a lot to you,” Soo-yeon said with a smile.
“Yes you do,” Taeyeon felt her ears heat up as she said that.
“When did you start having feelings for me?” Soo-yeon asked. It was evident that she was enjoying herself hearing Taeyeon say all that.
“Mmmm...You may not believe it, but I think it started when we first met,” Taeyeon revealed.
Soo-yeon just finished shelling a prawn and she held it to Taeyeon’s lips, “Ahhhh...”
Taeyeon opened her mouth obediently and ate it. Her ears turned even redder. She was not used to being so affectionate in public.
“Your ears are so red from the cold, do you want to move inside?” Soo-yeon suddenly said as Taeyeon’s ears caught her eyes.
“Oh no it’s fine,” Taeyeon said as she quickly undid her pony tail to hide her ears from the ‘cold’.
“So, what about you? When did you realise you had feelings for me?” Taeyeon asked.
“I don’t know when it started but I realised it only when we were here in New Zealand,” Soo-yeon admitted, “I guess the feelings were there all along.”
“Do you remember the day I was sitting alone at the dock? I was just asking god about my destiny and you appeared right at that moment,” Soo-yeon said, “It’s amazing isn’t it?”
Taeyeon looked up in disbelief. She replayed everything in her mind and so many things had to happen before it led up to the point where she appeared in front of Soo-yeon.
“We really are fated for each other aren’t we?” Taeyeon said with a smile.
“But of course! Soo-yeon and Taeyeon belong together,” Soo-yeon said out loud.
Soo-yeon was extremely adorable when she did. There was a kind of child-like innocence that Soo-yeon had in her and Taeyeon loved it.
It made her want to take care of Soo-yeon forever.
“If there’s a next life, I want to be with you,” Taeyeon said sincerely.
“I want the same too,” Soo-yeon replied in the same loving tone as Taeyeon.
Soo-yeon then fed Taeyeon another prawn.
“You should stop feeding me and start eating yourself,” Taeyeon said as she took the prawn.
“Maybe you can feed me then?” Soo-yeon said as she gave Taeyeon a grin.
Taeyeon could not help smiling as she shook her head at Soo-yeon, “I didn’t know you were this cheeky.”
Taeyeon cut a piece of steak and fed Soo-yeon.
It was a blissful sight.
“I never knew steak tasted this sweet,” Soo-yeon said with a triumphant smile.
Soo-yeon was very affectionate and it took Taeyeon a lot of getting used too.
“Everything just tastes sweeter today doesn’t it? Even the air seems fresher,” Taeyeon commented.
“But of course,” Soo-yeon said, “We’re two people in love.”
“Are we?” Taeyeon teased, “I thought it was because it’s your birthday that’s why everything just tastes better.”
Soo-yeon stuck her tongue out at Taeyeon, “You’re so mean.”
“Yes I am,” Taeyeon said cheekily
“No more prawns for you,” Soo-yeon said as she chomped on the next prawn she shelled.
“That’s my girl, now you’re eating,” Taeyeon continued with her teasing.
Soo-yeon stuck her tongue out once more, “Who’s your girl. Hmph.”
“Oh yes, you’re not my girl...I totally forgot,” Taeyeon said out loud as she slapped her hands to her forehead.
Soo-yeon was about to protest but Taeyeon spoke first.
“Soo-yeon, I, Kim Taeyeon would like to officially ask you to accept me as your girlfriend,” Taeyeon said with a cheeky grin.
Soo-yeon’s frown became a bashful smile.
“Aren’t we together already?” Soo-yeon asked as she tried to hide her smile.
“Well someone did say that she wanted to be in a relationship that doesn’t change over time last night but I don’t think there’s any talk of girlfriend,” Taeyeon said as she put a hand to her chin and pretended to be thinking.
Soo-yeon smiled, “Someone sure has a fantastic memory.”
“Well, so what’s your answer? Hmmm..or maybe I should ask Sunny to be my girlfriend instead if that’s what you want,” Taeyeon said, “And then we can have a friendship that will never change over time.”
Soo-yeon picked up a piece of cherry tomato and stuffed it into Taeyeon’s mouth, “You’re soooo mean, girlfriend.”
Taeyeon smiled as she chewed on the Tomato. She was better at expressing herself this way. It was the way she knew how.
“Thanks for the tomato, girlfriend.” Taeyeon replied.
Soo-yeon could not help but smile when she heard that.
After lunch, the both of them just sat around and talked.
Soo-yeon had plenty of questions for Taeyeon and they spent the entire afternoon talking about all the things that happened during the trip.
Soo-yeon had a good laugh when she found out that Taeyeon was awake the night she fell off the bed.
The both of them had fun just talking.
They did not need anything else, they just needed each other.
By the time they went down on the gondola, it was already close to evening.
When they alighted, Soo-yeon pointed at a row of little gondolas hanging in the air, “Look at that!”
Taeyeon turned in that direction and saw that they could purchase their photos and insert it into a mini 3-dimensional gondola.
They ended up buying it because it was so unique.
Taeyeon kept it away and they returned to the Treetop Lodge & Estate.
***
Soo-yeon was showering and smiling to herself at the same time.
It was the best birthday she ever had since she was born.
She never expected things to take a turn so quickly.
She was just feeling upset and heartbroken just a few days ago when she thought that Taeyeon was deeply in love with Sunny.
It was funny how one little thing could lead to so much else.
It was already quite late at night and her birthday was almost over.
It was an extremely sweet day for her since the both of them spent every moment together except for when they were in the bathroom.
She got dressed quickly after she showered so that she could get back to Taeyeon.
When she stepped out of the shower, she was disappointed to see that Taeyeon was already in bed, asleep.
That meanie, she didn’t even bother to wait for me.
After a momentary pause she felt bad that Taeyeon was out the entire day with her in her current condition so she forgave Taeyeon for going to bed without her.
Soo-yeon dried her hair before she climbed into bed.
As she was about to switch off the side light, she realised that the mini gondola was sitting on the bedside table.
It looked different from before and there was a note beside it that said,
I’m sorry I couldn’t get you a birthday gift.
She picked the gondola up and smiled sweetly to herself.
“Silly girl,” Soo-yeon said out loud to no one in particular.
Taeyeon had scribbled the date on the side of the gondola and she wrote,
The day that Taeyeon and Soo-yeon became lovers.
Soo-yeon peered inside the gondola and she saw something inside. She reached in and took it out.
It was a little heart folded with paper. In the middle of that read,
Taeyeon’s heart.
Soo-yeon smiled yet another smile.
Taeyeon was the sweetest person in the whole wide world.
Soo-yeon switched off the lights and slid under the covers with Taeyeon.
She cuddled up close to her and gave Taeyeon a warm kiss on her cheeks.
“Thank you,” She whispered.
Taeyeon did not reply but she could feel Taeyeon’s lips twitch upwards very slightly.
“Silly,” Soo-yeon whispered once more, “I love you.”
DESTINY CHAPTER 40 [28th April 2010]
It was ten days since the both of them got together and Taeyeon was heading down to get her pay for the photo shoot she did in New Zealand.
She was almost fully recovered and she could get back to her old life soon.
The only thing that would be different is that she now has Soo-yeon.
Taeyeon was riding on her little black scooter to the agency.
When she arrived, Soo-yeon was waiting for her at the front door.
The both of them smiled at the same time.
“Your hands are so cold,” Soo-yeon said as she took Taeyeon’s hands in hers.
“No choice, the scooter doesn’t have heating,” Taeyeon said as she shrugged her shoulders.
“You should get a car or something,” Soo-yeon said, “And riding a scooter is so dangerous.”
“Can’t afford to,” Taeyeon said shaking her head.
Taeyeon let go of Soo-yeon’s hands as they walked into the building.
Nobody knew that they were seeing each other except for Sunny and Soo-jung.
“Taeyeon you’re here!” a loud voice boomed.
Kang-In was running towards them happily.
He was about to give Taeyeon a big bear hug when she held a hand in-front of him, “No no,” she then pointed at her rib.
It was of course not the real reason.
Kang-In stopped short of hugging her and he gave her a pat on the head, “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you.”
Taeyeon smiled at him and said, “Oppa it’s really not that long.”
“But I miss you! Do you have any plans later? Let’s go for a drink!” Kang-In suggested.
Taeyeon stole a glance at Soo-yeon and saw a glare that clearly expressed the kind of trouble Taeyeon would get into if she went on ahead.
Taeyeon was supposed to spend the night at Soo-yeon’s place since Soo-yeon’s dad wouldn’t be back only until Saturday.
Soo-yeon made it clear with her glare that she wanted the entire evening with Taeyeon.
“Oh Oppa I can’t, I’ve got plans. We’ll hang out some other time,” Taeyeon said as she gave a helpless look to Kang-In.
“Oh well, it’s ok then,” Kang-In said in disappointment.
Kang-In placed his hands around her shoulders as they walked to the area where Taeyeon was supposed to claim her cheque.
Taeyeon could sense that Soo-yeon did not quite like it that Kang-In had appeared out of nowhere and took away her time with Taeyeon.
The last time Taeyeon met Soo-yeon was on Monday. Since they lived quite a distance apart, it was not the most convenient for them to actually meet very often.
After Taeyeon got her cheque, Kang-In followed her and walked her out alongside Soo-yeon.
When Kang-In saw Taeyeon’s scooter he went crazy.
“This is some cool vehicle you have here, I’ve always wanted one of this!” Kang-In said in his loud voice.
Taeyeon was glad that there was someone that shared her passion.
“You should totally bring me for a ride,” Kang-In suggested in the hopes that he could go for one immediately.
“I’m sorry not today,” Taeyeon said apologetically.
“Ok then,” Kang-In said with yet another disappointed look on his face.
“I’ll take you for a ride another time,” Taeyeon promised.
“Cool!” Kang-In’s face lit up instantly.
“Soo-yeon are you heading home? I’ll be riding in that direction, I’ll give you a lift,” Taeyeon said as she took out the other helmet.
“Thanks Taeyeon,” Soo-yeon said as she took the helmet from Taeyeon.
The both of them were putting on a good show in front of Kang-In. They were actually heading in the same direction — Soo-yeon’s home.
“You lucky thing,” Kang-In said to Soo-yeon as he shot her a look of envy.
Soo-yeon just smiled as she put the helmet on her head.
Without any prompting, Taeyeon helped Soo-yeon with the strap like she always did. Soo-yeon was just not good with it no matter how many times she rode with Taeyeon.
“You know if I didn’t know any better I would really think that the both of you are dating,” Kang-In commented randomly.
It was in his nature to be straightforward.
Taeyeon and Soo-yeon just laughed before they got onto the scooter.
“Bye Oppa,” Taeyeon said before she rode away.
Once they were out of sight, Soo-yeon slid her arms down from Taeyeon’s shoulders to her waist.
“If only he knew better,” Soo-yeon joked.
“If only,” Taeyeon said as she placed a hand on Soo-yeon’s hand.
The both of them laughed once again.
***
Soo-yeon and Taeyeon walked in the door to Soo-yeon’s apartment.
“Unnie, you’re back— Oh Taeyeon unnie you’re here too!” Soo-jung beamed.
Taeyeon was surprised at Soo-jung’s reaction. She seemed honestly happy that Taeyeon was over.
“Yup, we bought you some food too,” Taeyeon said as she placed the bag of food on the dining table that was just a few steps away from the main door.
“Coooool,” Soo-jung said as she quickly went forward to check the food.
“mmmm..my favorite!” Soo-jung said as she popped a piece of sushi into her mouth.
“You sure know how my sister well don’t you,” Soo-yeon said to Taeyeon teasingly, “Are you trying to bribe her.”
“Uh uh,” Taeyeon said as she shook her head, “Firstly I don’t bribe, Secondly I am observant.”
“Really, you didn’t seem to be as observant when we were in Auckland,” Soo-yeon teased. She was implying that Taeyeon did not manage to guess of her mutual feelings.
“Well,” Taeyeon came up with her explanation, “Observation and sizing up a situation based on observation is totally different.”
Taeyeon smirked as Soo-yeon stuck her tongue out at her.
“You can continue to observe my sister while I return to my room then,” Soo-yeon said jokingly.
“Taeyeon unnie, Soo-yeon unnie means that she wants you to follow her into the room so that the both of you can spend some time together privately,” Soo-jung said with her mouth full, “You should see how she is when you’re not here.”
Taeyeon laughed. “Soo-jung maybe I should spend more time here with you then, you’re giving me so much insight.”
“Kim Taeyeon!” Soo-yeon exclaimed and dragged Taeyeon by the arm towards her room.
Soo-jung and Taeyeon both laughed heartily at Soo-yeon’s reaction.
Taeyeon treated Soo-jung like her younger sister and she doted on her as much as Soo-yeon did.
Soo-jung too respected Taeyeon. She was glad that Soo-yeon was with Taeyeon instead of the older dude from before.
Once Taeyeon and Soo-yeon were in the room, Soo-yeon shut the door in no time and gave Taeyeon a deep kiss.
“I miss those lips,” Soo-yeon said as she pulled away breathless.
Taeyeon grinned. “I miss yours too,” Taeyeon said as she moved forward for another kiss.
Taeyeon was getting more comfortable with Soo-yeon behind closed doors.
In fact, Soo-yeon had made her hungry for affection.
Soo-yeon returned the kiss.
Taeyeon loved the taste of Soo-yeon’s lips.
She has never loved kissing as much as now.
Every kiss was tender, every kiss was sweet.
Taeyeon was lost in the kiss when Soo-yeon suddenly bit her lips.
“That’s for being cheeky just now,” Soo-yeon said with her lips centimeters away from Taeyeon’s.
Before Taeyeon could even reply, Soo-yeon gave Taeyeon a very gentle kiss at the same spot she bit.
“And this,” Soo-yeon said in a tender whisper, “is to say I’m sorry I bit you, my dear.”
Taeyeon smiled. She did not care if Soo-yeon bit her or kissed her, she was just glad for the very existence of Soo-yeon.
Soo-yeon was her angel.
Soo-yeon was her life.
