not our enemy for now
As the two cookies walk together through the forest, Wind Archer feels a little strange as he is aware who he is traveling with, Fire Spirit cookie is normally very talkative, one might say he never runs out of words to say but this cookie is his opposite... For most of the journey Ash does not speak unless he needs to, it's weirdly too quiet for Wind Archer to get used to, he had only met Ash one time before and they only spoke once before he turned back into Fire Spirit but now that they have formally meet, Wind Archer sees that Ash is a somewhat good cookie, he's just too tired to do things most of the time... wind Archer find it weirdly nice to have a quiet moment with him, Ash was scanning through the forest for the direction to the temple as he doesn't exactly know how to navigate through the forest despite Fire Spirit have been here many times before.
Fire Spirit: many of you didn't fall as sleep while I explore this place, you would have known your way around here better!
Ash: would you shut up, I'm trying to find the way here...
Wind Archer: did you say something?
Ash: nothing, are we on the right path?
Wind Archer: yes, just be careful to take turns to corners... We can't be sure monsters aren't lurking in certain areas or not...
They both walk in silence for a long while until they heard barking sounds, it sounded like the bark of a cake hound, Wind Archer ran up ahead to check what it was, Ash couldn't react to the sudden movement and sighs in defeat as he follows Wind Archer, they both saw a random Cake hound barking at monsters made of darkness, Wind Archer had no choice but to take out his bow and shoot arrows at the monsters.
Ash: seriously? We're protecting cake hounds now?
Wind Archer: even if it's just a cake hound it is still a child of nature...
Once all the monsters were purified Wind Archer leaned against a tree as he was breathing in and out exhaustedly but while he was taking a break Ash squinted his eyes and looked at him as he noticed something strange.
Ash: hey... Did you just grew more... Flowers?
Wind Archer: huh...?
Ash: your arm... There's more flowers on it... That wasn't there before...
Wind Archer: it's nothing, don't worry about it... We're safe for now.
The little cake hound barks in joy as it runs around Windy Archer feet and snuggles up next to him, Wind Archer faintly smiles and kneels down to pet the cake hound.
Wind Archer: honestly what are you doing here...? I thought all the animals ran away from the forest once the corruption took place...
???: Chiffon! Where are you?!
Wind Archer and Ash looks to the right as the cake hound happily barks and runs to the direction of the voice, out of the bushes comes Red Velvet cookie looking frantically in every direction for his lost companion, once he sees the small cake hound running up to him, he opens his arms and let the cake hound jump onto him as it licks his face in joy, meanwhile Licorice cookie just walked out of the bushes all tired and looked like he was about to collapse
Red Velvet: Chiffon! Oh I'm so glad you're alright!
Licorice: geez! I can't believe you ran through the entire forest just because of your damn pet! Why did you even brought him along?!
Red Velvet: I told you Chiffon gets sad when he's inside all day! I have to take him outside for some fresh air everyday!
Wind Archer: so that cake hound belongs to you
Licorice: ahhh! It's Wind Archer cookie! And uhhhh... Is that supposed to be Fire Spirit cookie?
Wind Archer: speak your purpose for being here, servants of darkness
Licorice: ahh! Wiat! Wiat! Wiat! I know what this looks like but really! You gotta trust us! We didn't do this to the forest!
Ash: then talk. What the hell happened and why the hell are you two idiots running around here. Don't make me repeat myself...
Licorice: ok! Ok... Ugh so Pomegranate cookie told everyone that she found a cursed artifact that might prove useful in creating more Cake hounds, which is why this guy is even here in the first place... She thought it could replicate things but once she activated the artifact i-its started glowing red and the next thing we know- a huge wave of darkness came right out of it! All of us were washed away within the wave of corruption as it took over the forest! Next thing we know... We woke up in some random spot in the forest... We're not here to cause trouble today! I swear! I didn't even wanted to be here!
Ash: then how do we get rid of this corruption easier? I don't want to walk the entire mile just to go from point A to B...
Red Velvet: we do not know, Pomegranate cookie was the one who found the artifact so she may know something about it, that witch always act like she knows everything... And somehow we get dragged into the consequences of her actions...
Wind Archer: *sigh* so there really is no other way then...
Ash: great... I should burn you two alive for wasting our time here...
Licorice: w-wiat what?! Hey we told you everything we know!! And I already said we didn't do it! If you wanna be mad then be mad at Pomegranate cookie!
Wind Archer: Ash stop, their not worth it
Ash: why not? If we get rid of her minions we'll have less problems to worry about
Wind Archer: I can't allow you to use your powers to harm others, you know very well why you shouldn't hurt them...
Ash: ... Whatever.
Red Velvet: one more thing... I thank you for saving my Chiffon... I didn't know what would happen if you didn't save him...
Wind Archer: it's fine, I only did what was right
The two cookies continue on their journey leaving the two servants of darkness behind to go who knows where? But as they walk Ash couldn't help but be bothered by the flowers on Wind Archers arm and the way he acted back there.
Ash: why did you went all soft on them? If you wanted to get rid of the darkness you should have killed them without a problem...
Wind Archer: my powers does not allow me to "kill" the darkness... It purifies it, there are other ways to cleanse the darkness and redemption can be one of them... Maybe one day they can strive a brighter path without being lost within the darkness... All life is worth living and saving for even if it's big or small... I still want to protect it from harm, tho kindness isn't always the answer... I can certainly do other things more then killing them...
Ash: hmm... Boring.
