the growing flowers
Ash was walking normally until he realised he was walking a little far ahead instead of Wind Archer and finds it a little strange as the Archer seems fine just a moment ago... Yet now suddenly he has slowed down in speed... Is he tired maybe? They have been walking for awhile...
Ash: hey, let's take a break... You look like you need it more then I do...
Wind Archer: no it's fine... I can still keep... Going. . .
Ash: wha- hey!
Wind Archer suddenly fainted catching Ash off guard, he went over and tries to shake the Archer and wake him up but he didn't, luckily Wind Archer only pass out and fell asleep so there wasn't munch to worry about, but he didn't want to let Wind Archer rest out here when monsters could appear at any moment so he carried Wind Archer cookie in his arms and went to look for some place where they can both rest for the time being.
Later when Wind Archer finally woke up, he opens his eyes to a familiar sight, a land at the heart of the Desert Paradise that has not lost its beauty... The place where he was born... The sugar Swan lake... Wind Archer slowly sat up as he can feel the pain of the flowers growing on him, he shifted in his position a little to realised Ash was sleeping beside him, Ash opens his eyes upon hearing Wind Archer waking up.
Ash: your finally awake... Ya know if you wanted to sleep you could have just said so...
Wind Archer: my apologies... I didn't expect to get tired so easily...
Ash: so... You wanna tell me how you got those flowers? We're going to be stuck in this place for a long while so I don't see any reason to be all secretsy
Wind Archer: I... Can't exactly tell... Where the flowers came from... They just started to grow out of nowhere... But I'm sure it is nothing to worry about... Flowers are harmless after all
Ash: ... Sure.
Wind Archer:... if this journey is too much for you, you do know you could just go... I know my way around the forest
Ash: *sigh* trust me, as much as I would like to take a rest there's... Something's best not to leave alone...
Fire Spirit: you better not leave him alone I fucking swear to the creators-
Ash: ugh... Besides those flowers doesn't look like their helping you going through all this...
Wind Archer: their just hindering my vision a little... It's fine...
Wind Archer got up and approached the lake and looked at it's reflection as a small smile crept it's way onto his face, he was glad this place was seperated from the dead hollow trees, wilted grass and flowers of the forest the lake here is as beautiful and mesmerising as ever with glorious flowers and trees, it almost gives off a divine powerful presence itself... Ash looks around in the place with a blank expression, yes this place is beautiful but horrifyingly bright... Not he nor Fire Spirit has ever seen anything like this before... He preferred the shine of lava then whatever the hell is glowing in this lake area... Wind Archer frowns as he looks up again and realises something is missing...
Wind Archer: She's not here...
Ash: she?
Wind Archer: if mother isn't here in her lake something bad must have happened to her... And it's... all my fault... I should have done my duty as the forest guardian better... All the more reason why i must reach the temple immediately
Ash: ugh... Would you just take it easy for a sec? There's no need to push yourself that hard, we'll get there soon...
Wind Archer: yes... You're right...
Wind Archer sighs and uses his hand and touches the surface of the lake for a little bit and seems to have relaxed and Ash somewhat noticed that some of the flowers growing on him were falling off without causing him any pain but eventually Wind Archer takes his hand away from the lake and sighs, this entire journey through the forest should have been easy for him... He has lived here his entire life... But now he's becoming weak... These flowers on his face are enough to prove it... Just as Wind Archer wanted to leave the lake and continue onwards, the lake suddenly grew dark out of nowhere and small fireflies started to appear and fly all around the lake as the grey clouds departed and the moonlight shines down upon the lake, Wind Archer and Ash looks around in awe, taking in the beauty of it all, Wind Archer smiles knowing this place will still be safe... Once he finishes his mission, Ash felt his face warm up a little as he saw the archer smile, it's not like the archer couldn't smile, everybody knows that... It's just that he rarely ever smiles... But as they say, the more rare the smile, the more precious it is.... Ash looks up at the moon and then at Wind Archer as he held a hand full of fireflies in the palm of his hands and watch them dance around in joy, hes not one to admit it but he's glad Wind Archer is enjoying himself.
Fire Spirit: hey don't go falling for my Windy now, you got your emo Birdy don't you?
Ash: relax dumbass, your ruining the moment with your jealousy...
Fire Spirit: I am not Jealous! You're literally me!
Ash: in some ways unfortunately
Once the fireflies has disappeared the two cookies had no choice but to leave the lake and continue on their journey but unexpectedly a herd of monsters jumps out of the woods to ambush them, and these are no normal size monsters... So they both fought off the monsters as much as they could, but as they were fighting Ash glances over to Wind Archer who takes out a few arrows to shoot the monsters only for it to cause a concerning amount of flowers to grow onto him again, this time the pain courses through his body causing him to fell to his knees in pain, he coughs into his hand a splash of jam and... A handful of flower petals... Ash saw it and finally understood what was going on, he grips onto his staff as black flames began to surrounded him, he uses his staff to create a wall of black fire to turn all the monsters to ashes as he approaches Wind Archer cookie, he grabs him by the arm and ask him in a serious tone of voice.
Ash: I saw that! What was that?! Why did the flowers grow more when you shoot your arrows?!
Wind Archer: i- ... It's nothing to be concern-
Ash: "nothing to worry about"?! You can barely stand straight! You better explain this now.
Wind Archer: ...
Wind Archer never expected to see Ash this seriously... The sudden raise of tone surprised him... Is he that worried...? In the end he knew he'll have to tell him either way so he slowly tries to stand up and takes his hand back from Ash as he couldn't help but hide his face behind his scarf again...
Wind Archer: fine... If you want to know the truth so badly...
