48 Coincidence
Part 48 Coincidence (Double Long update)
Arnav's gaze rooted on Khushi... this time with a lot of LOVE... the girl who was standing in front of him with nervousness was none other than his wife. She knew he was her husband... he too got to know she was his wife. Yet, there was an interesting HIDE AND SEEK going between them. That day, Khushi looked so beautiful in Arnav's eyes... more than ever before... not just because she was wearing his favorite color... she looked beautiful in Arnav's eyes from OUT and also from INSIDE. She had a flawless heart. Her talks with Swamiji echoed in his ear. He knew what she did FOR him and what she did WITH him. She treated his mental illness... she took care of him... she hugged him... she kissed him... she slept with him in the same bed... that thought made him gulped down hard.
Khushi suffocated like hell by his penetrating gaze. Why was he looking at her like, he would swallow her if he got a chance? She clutched her saree pallu tightly.
Arnav smiled inwardly. He didn't know what kind she was. She entered the WILDMAN's room daringly... she could even get him under her control then why was she nervous now? She looked here and there but at Arnav. He started moving towards her with the same smirk. Khushi sensed that and stared at the floor blankly. She didn't know what to do and how to handle this. She looked at him turning her face slowly. She got stuck seeing Arnav's clear-cut face. Her bewildered expression made him smirk.
Khushi gulped hard when Arnav came close to her and stood staring at her face. She looked at him jerking when he extended his hand towards her face. He dusted her shoulder softly.
"Dust..." he uttered.
Khushi blinked her eyes slowly.
"You look..." Arnav stopped without completing the sentence.
She saw a NEW look in his eyes. Especially, the killer smirk. Khushi was looking at him, like, 'why are you doing this to me, Arnavji?'
Khushi jerked and came out of the trance when Lavanya shouted,
"Khushiiiii..."
Khushi and Arnav looked in the direction where Lavanya standing, covering herself with a new saree. Both of them glanced at each other and could not understand anything.
"Please help me to drape the saree, Khushi..." Lavanya pleaded.
Khushi thanked Lavanya inwardly and huffed in relief. That was not gone unnoticed by Arnav. Khushi rushed to Lavanya's room to help her to drape the saree... of course, with a rushing heartbeat.
Arnav stood, looking at her with a soft smile. What will she do if she got to know the truth that he got to know the truth? Should he say he got to know the truth? Why should he say? Won't it be interesting if she said that she was his wife? Why can't he make her do that? Yes... let her say, I'm your wife... or, you are my husband. Arnav thought about what to do to make her confess. He decided to do it that day itself if TIME permitted.
Khushi helped Lavanya to drape the saree. She came downstairs with Lavanya. Her body sweated instantly when she saw Arnav sitting on the couch, crossing his legs, leaning on it, and spreading his hand with a strong gaze on her. Khushi sighed. That was too much for her. She could not stand this Arnav. What could he do if his WIFE looked damn gorgeous? She tried hard not to look in the direction where Arnav was sitting.
Anjali welcomed the Pandit and he started the Pooja arrangements without wasting time. He asked everyone to take place in front of the holy fire. Everyone sat around the fire. Pandit asked Anjali and Shyam to sit close to the holy fire as if they were a couple. Anjali made Arnav sit next to her and looked at Khushi.
"Khushi, you to come and sit with Lavanya" she gestured her to sit next to Arnav.
Khushi understood her gesture and nodded ok. Arnav smirked when she sat next to him, giving him enough space.
Everyone closed their eyes when the Pandit started chanting hymns. But Arnav didn't come on that list. He made sure no one was noticing him. He leaned toward Khushi,
"Is not only husband and wife sit together in the Pooja?"
Khushi opened her eyes jerking and flinched back, seeing him leaning toward her with a smirk. She again closed her eyes tightly making him chuckle.
The Pandit asked them to stand up as the Pooja came to an end.
"All of you stand up. Close your eyes and pray what you want" the Pandit said.
All of them stood up and closed their eyes, joining hands. Taking the pooja plate in his hands, the Pandit started showing it in every corner of the house while ringing the bell whereas Raizadas continued praying with their closed eyes.
Suddenly, Anjali felt hotness in her hand. She looked down and saw fire on her saree pallu.
"Fire... fire..." Anjali shouted in fear.
In no time, Shyam put off the fire by tapping her saree pallu with his hands. RM became panicky. Arnav rushed to Anjali and clutched her shoulders.
"Di, are you alright?" he asked panicking.
"Haan..." she said, stammering with teary eyes, and hugged him.
Her body shivered.
"Relax, Di... I'm here..."
Shyam gulped down hard. The Pandit rushed to them and stood up horrified. Arnav took her to the sofa and made her sit.
"Hari Prakash... bring some water" Nani poured water from the jug that was kept on the side table and extended it to Arnav.
Arnav made Anjali drink it. he noticed one thing Khushi stood without a movement. She looked with an extreme level of shock. It seemed she was also scared. Anjali was crying like hell.
"Di, please, don't cry." Arnav consoled her.
"Chotte, I'm scared... it's a bad omen... it feels like, something bad is going to happen" Anjali said in between her tears.
"Di, please... don't be so sentimental..."
Anjali cried closing her face not ready to listen to anything.
Khushi saw the Pandit standing with hesitation. Nani went to him. Khushi also got close to them.
"Panditji, is it a bad omen like Anjali bitiya said?"
"Haan, Maji... usually, clothes should not catch fire and definitely not when we do something auspicious like Pooja"
"Can't we do any redemption to recover this bad sign, Panditji?"
"Everything is in God's hand, Maji... what can I say..."
Khushi sensed that he was also upset with what happened.
"Please say some amends. I'm ready to do whatever to recover it"
"Give me some time, Maji. I will tell you in the evening"
Nani nodded ok and the Panditji left.
"Rani Sahiba, please change the saree first," Shyam said.
"Haan, Anjali bitiya, change the saree, the burnt saree should not be worn," Nani said.
Anjali stood up crying and walked to her room with Shyam.
"Don't know why God is testing our family..." Nani said wearily.
"Nani, it's an accident... see it in that perspective," Arnav said.
"Chotte, you won't believe such things. That's why you look cool. But we can't take it coolly"
"Happened is happened. We can't change it, Nani. What's the use of feeling sad about it?"
"You can't understand Chotte..." Nani left the place. Lavanya followed her because she wanted to get rid of the saree.
Khushi stood looking at Nani's retreating figure sadly. She saw Arnav observing her.
"You too?"
"Haannn?"
"Why are you looking nervous?"
She shook her head, like, nothing.
"Are not you nervous?"
"No... I mean... yes..."
"Yes or no?"
"Yes..."
"Why?"
"What Di said is right. it's a bad sign"
Arnav rolled his eyes. Khushi looked disturbed. Why these women were thinking negatively? Arnav sighed.
"By the way, you look gorgeous in this saree," he said.
Khushi widened her eyes in shock hearing such unexpected words from Arnav. She tried to go away from him, but Arnav came in front of her blocking her way. As Khushi didn't expect it, she flinched back and stumbled. Arnav pulled her close to him, circling her shoulders. It was nothing but a hug. Arnav stood, closing his eyes, inhaling her hair smell. She looked at him perplexed. Pushing him a little harder, she came out of his arms.
She took a few steps away from him,
"Khushiiii..." he called her with a rough tone.
She looked at him hesitatingly.
"Can I get tea?"
She walked to the kitchen and said nothing. Arnav walked to his room smirking. Let her come to his room...
HP saw Khushi getting in.
"Do you want anything, Khushi bhabi?"
"Arnavji asked for tea"
"Shall I?"
"He asked me" she started preparing tea and HP said nothing this time.
She gave the cup to HP.
"Please give it to Arnavji"
"He asked you, right?"
"I have important work"
She stuffed the cup in his hand and left the kitchen. HP frowned. Why did she look upset? He brought the cup to Arnav's room. Arnav rolled his eyes, seeing HP.
"Arnav baba, tea..."
"I didn't ask you..."
"But you asked Khushiji... she is the one who prepared it for you"
"Then why do you bring it?"
"She said she has important work"
*Important work? * Arnav murmured.
"Where did she go?"
"She went to Nani's room"
"Mmm..."
Arnav had the tea and came to Nani's room. When he was about to enter her room, he stopped listening to Khushi's question.
"Doesn't Jeejaji have any relatives?"
"No, bitiya... he has no one" Nani said.
"No one means?"
"He is an orphan, beta. He studied with Anjali in the same college. He is her senior. They liked each other. Anjali waited for him until he completed his LAW."
"Jeejaji loves Di, very much... isn't it?"
"Of course, he loves Anjali more than anyone does."
"Could you tell me about them?"
Nani nodded smilingly.
"They got married after Damadji completed his law. After their wedding, he wanted to take her to his house but Anjali was not ready to leave her Chotte. So, Damadji agreed to settle down here as he also has no one. But from the time he got married to Anjali, he is giving their share of money for their expense and stay in RM"
"Really?"
"Yes... he always wants Anjali to spend HIS money"
"Oh... Like, Anjali loves Arnavji very much... Jeejaji also loves Di very much... right?"
"Of course, no doubt in it..."
"I think, Jeejaji would like to spend not only his money but also his time... right?"
"Yeah... after Chotte's accident, Damadji is the one who took RM's responsibility into his hands. He supported Anjali like anything. Whenever she calls him, he would be in front of her within a few minutes, no matter how busy he had been..."
Arnav had no clue what made Khushi enquire about Shyam all of a sudden, and that too in this abnormal situation...? He didn't get anything. Was this matter related to her nervousness? What would be the reason?
"Did Panditji say any redemption, Naniji?"
"He will say in the evening bitiya..."
"Di is scared"
"Haan, bitiya... it's because it's really a bad omen"
"Don't worry Naniji... everything will be alright"
"I hope so"
Khushi left the room plastering a smile. Arnav hid behind a pillar and noticed her. She looked more nervous than before. She pressed her head and rushed to her room. Arnav shrank her eyes. something was terribly wrong with Shyam and Khushi found out something about it. He guessed. He was right.
The reason for Khushi's nervousness was, that it was Shyam who burnt Anajali's saree and, Khushi saw it coincidently.
To be continued...
