The given table provides information recorded by United Nations about social and economic indicators for four countries in the year 1994. As it is shown in the table, Canada and Japan had leading numbers in most criteria, whereas Zaire ranked the lowest in all categories.
Japan appeared to be the country with the highest numbers for annual income per person, life expectancy at birth and adult literacy rate, which makes daily calorie supply per person the only criteria that did not take first place at only 2846, lower than that of Canada at 3326. The annual income of the Japanese was nearly 16000 US dollar per person, almost 100 times as much as that of a citizen in Peru.
The country Zaire was reported to have poor numbers in all categories in 1994. The adult literacy rate in this country was slightly over 30 percent, which makes up for just one third of that of Canada as well as Japan.
Overall, the table shows that in the year 1994 Japan and Canada were far more developed than Peru and Zaire.

It is reported that in educational institutions, the choice of major subjects differs between two genders as young females tend to choose art-related subjects and young males prefer science. A variety of different factors have contributed to the existence of this phenomenon which resulted in serious gender stereotypes. In my personal opinion, some alters need to be made to the current situation so as to promote equality for everyone.
Firstly, this tendency has happened due to the fact that the society has always categorized emotional as a characteristic of women, and strong and tough as those of men. Despite the great inaccuracies, this activity has been continued throughout centuries, blind-folding us into thinking that it is a norm. Young children do not yet have the ability to realize that fact, and are led by these old-fashioned mindsets. Also, the young are usually found in the state where they crave for the feeling of being included. Thus, in order to feel belonged, boys and girls will make the safe choice by choosing arts or science according to their biological gender.
Furthermore, everyone is a unique individual, and there is no point in trying to fit in by giving up one's originality, and we need to stop the tendency which is preventing people from pursuing what they want. For example, if a girl choose to study arts to be like her female friends without having any passions or motivations, it is likely that she will not thrive in the field. This trend does not only negatively affect one's personal life and career, but on a larger scale as well, because its existence means that we are putting up with gender discrimination.
In conclusion, the case is caused by stereotyping and children's lack of knowledge and confidence. This trend needs to be stopped so as to provide people of all gender with the equal chances to go for what they really love, and their gender should never be the reason that stops from doing anything.
