41 How?
Part 41 How?
Wedding certificate?
Arnav was shocked to the core hearing that Vishvesh Sharma had a wedding certificate of Nithesh Sharma and Khushi. How could it be possible? How did he get the certificate? Did Khushi sign some documents without reading them? Or, did she do that just like she did the previous day? Didn't she sign the plain papers when he asked for her signature? Did she do the same earlier?
He came to Khushi's class. She was talking to Jane, who saw him.
"Khushi, your husband..." she said in a low voice.
"It's Arnav..." Khushi said proudly.
"He is here..." she gestured for her to see him.
"Mmm...?"
At the same time, Arnav called her.
"Khushi..."
She looked at him and found restlessness in his face. In no time, she rushed to him.
"What happened, Arnie? You look tensed...!"
"Did you ever sign any document for Vishvesh?"
"Document? No..." Khsuhvi nodded no thoughtfully.
"Are you sure?"
"Damn sure... I have never signed anything. What happened? Anything serious?"
"Mmm... it's serious... but not so severe..." he smiled.
"That's all?"
"We will talk in the evening."
Khushi nodded.
"Now, go to the class."
She nodded and went to the class. She didn't take it seriously because if it were serious, Arnav would have told her. She thought. Arnav didn't tell her because he didn't want her to be tense. He wanted to discuss it with the lawyer. Before doing that, he didn't want to talk to Khsuhvi about it.
Arnav made himself relaxed and thought about it. He analysed the possibilities and favours. Then, he called the lawyer to ensure that what he had analysed could work. He told him about what the inspector had told him.
"Arnav sir, could you please come to my office? This is not a matter to discuss on the phone." The lawyer said.
"Ok. I will come..."
Arnav went to the lawyer's office to obtain permission, and they discussed the matter seriously. There were a few complications in the case, even though they could prove Vishvesh was wrong. Arnav waited for Khushi to discuss.
Evening
Arnav started the car after Khushi had seated in it.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" she asked, buckling her seat belt.
"Vishvesh Sharma and Nithesh Sharma got bail..."
"Whaaat? But how?"
"He is a lawyer after all. Didn't we expect it?"
"Of course, we did, but I thought it wouldn't happen soon."
"Why?"
"He trespassed on my house. He tried to kidnap me. His son tried to rape me. Then how did they get bail? That too, without summoning us? Without knowing our statements, how did they issue bail for them?"
"He had submitted a certificate to the police."
"What certificate?" she frowned.
"Wedding certificate..."
"Whose wedding certificate?"
"Nithesh and yours..."
"whaaaat? What did you say?"
"Mm... Vishvesh submitted your wedding certificate and claimed you as his daughter-in-law."
"This is rubbish."
"We will handle them legally..."
"Yes, we should deal with them legally. But, Arnie, we registered our wedding yesterday. Didn't we?"
Arnav smiled as Khushi caught the point.
"Yeah, we did."
"How is it possible if I'm already married? Didn't the registrar ask for our Adhar numbers? If I'm already married, wouldn't it clash?"
"You said, Vishvesh Sharma didn't know your Adhar number. When it arrived, it was Bheem who received it and kept it with him without anyone's knowledge."
"Yes, without the Adhar Card, how did he register my wedding?"
"It's because Vishvesh doesn't know you are married to me. He would not have expected us to make such a decision in a short period. That's why he took such a step to trap you."
"Even though it is the case, he could not trap me this way. Just because I'm married to his son, he can't force me to live with his son. Being a lawyer, how didn't he think about it?"
"He would have done that just to get bail. But he would not have expected to get trapped in his own plan."
"What will we do now?"
"We will face it legally."
"No need. We will wait until he makes the next move."
"No, Khsuhvi, it's not the right decision. At first, he didn't know you had me, but now, he knew about me and my strength. He will hit us again more powerfully. It's not good for us."
"What do you want me to do?"
"You don't have to do anything. I have already done what should be..."
"What did you do?"
"I got your signature..."
"So?"
"I already filed the case on behalf of you."
"So?"
"They will be in jail again."
"How?"
"Because their bail will be cancelled soon. I filed a cheating case against them."
Khushi sighed in relief.
"They tried to touch you. How would I leave them?"
Arnav drove the car towards the police station. His lawyer was waiting for them there. The trio entered the police station. The inspector saw them.
"Sir, we are here to file a case against Vishvesh Sharma and Nithesh Sharma." His lawyer said.
"You already filed the case against him. right?"
"This is a new case."
"New case? What's the case?"
"The certificate he provided in the case is forged. It's not true."
"What do you mean?"
"Yes, sir... see this." The lawyer gave the Xerox copy of Varanv and Khushi's marriage certificate."
The inspector looked at Arnav and Khushi, perplexed.
"Are you guys married?"
"Yes, sir. If Nithesh Sharma is Khushi's husband, how could the government system accept her data? Everything is interlinked with the Adhar number. If she is the wife of Nithesh, the system would not have shown an error when her details were fed?"
The inspector was thoughtful.
"Even though he was her husband, he had no right to force her to live with him. She is a major. She has the right to make decisions about her life. If she is not willing to live with her husband, she can walk out. Then how did they get the bail, showing their wedding as a reason?"
"They said they were married."
"But, how did the judge issue the bail without inquiring Mrs Arnav?" The lawyer asked.
"How do I know, sir?" the inspector asked.
"You should have known, Mr Inspector, because they didn't get the bail. It's you who let them escape by getting money from them." The lawyer said.
"This is not true." The inspector panicked.
"Truth will be out soon." The lawyer said.
Khushi looked at Arnav in shock, who smirked at her.
"Yes, Professor Arnav. This inspector didn't even file a FIR on Vishvesh Sharma."
"How could you say so? Do you know who you are accusing?" The inspector sneered.
"Don't raise your voice, Mr Inspector. I already inquired about his bail in the court. No bail was issued for Vishvesh Sharma and Nithesh Sharma. Get ready to answer Mr Inspector."
The inspector was supposed to say something, but stopped to see the DSP entering the station.
"Where are Vishvesh Sharma and Nithesh Sharma?"
"I don't know who they are, sir," the inspector lied.
"Didn't you arrest them two days ago?"
"No, sir. They are lying."
"If you don't know them, how did you talk to Professor Arnav about their bail?"
"No, sir... I didn't talk to him about anything..."
"Then, who talked to him on the phone in your voice?"
The inspector was stuck. He didn't know what the DSP was talking about.
"Professor Arnav recorded your conversation with him. he sent it to us."
The inspector was thunderstruck. He didn't expect that Arnav would have recorded their conversation. He thought he would do nothing because he had been called suddenly without notice.
"How much did you get from Vishvesh Sharma?" the DSP asked.
The inspector was silent. The DSP issued the search warrant and ordered the arrest of the inspector.
A team went to the inspector's house with the search warrant. They found fifty lakhs in his house.
To be continued...
