Visited one of my beloved cousins today and came back with a book to read and think and reflect upon. And since it's beneficial knowledge, I've decided to share snippets with you guys as I read.
That's the cover page. I thought I'd share it since the author's name is so long 🙊
And we're always taught to love and fear Allah. Truth be told, in my Madrassa learning, I was taught to fear Allah more than loving Him. And that had distorted my understanding of Islam and of my relationship with Allah. The punishments were emphasized, not the rewards. And that has been detrimental and led to years of darkness in my life. And yet to fear Allah, the One Who loves us 70 times as much as our mothers made no sense to me. However I've come to realise that this is fear born out of love for Him. This is fear born out of the intense need to always please Him and be in His good books. This is fear that is beneficial and like everything else in Islam, served in moderation.
So, let's learn how to fear Him the right way 😊❤
May Allah protect us all, keep us guided and keep us alert and aware of the devil's whispers. May He unite us all in Jannah!
