--------------------------------------

Ruby was a young woman who had always been captivated by the idea of true love. She had longed for a partner who would sweep her off her feet, someone who would understand her on a new level, which went beyond words. Despite being in a few relationships in the past, Ruby had never quite found what she wanted. That was until she met Adam, a man who seemed to embody all the qualities she had been searching for. From the moment they met, Ruby felt a profound connection with Adam that she had never experienced, which always made her think about the song "Red" by Taylor Swift.

Their love was like a whirlwind, moving faster than the wind itself. It was passionate and intense, like a burning flame that Ruby could not put out. Ruby loved Adam with a fierce devotion, like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street: thrilling, exciting, and full of adrenaline. She knew deep down that their love was leading nowhere, but she could not resist the ride, even if it meant crashing and burning in the end.

Ruby's heart skipped a beat the moment she laid eyes on him. He was unlike anyone she had ever met, and she knew she was in trouble. His touch was electric, sending tingles down her spine and stirring up emotions she never knew existed. It was as if she had found the missing piece of her puzzle, the one she had been searching for all her life. She studied him, committing every detail to memory, from how his eyes sparkled when he laughed to how he furrowed his brow when he was deep in thought. His image became etched into her memory, and she knew she would never forget a single moment spent with him.

Their love was the one that resembled the vivid colors of autumn, brilliant and captivating but fleeting. It was a thing of beauty, intense and all-consuming, leaving an indelible impression on Ruby's heart. Despite its impermanence, she could not help but feel a sense of longing for what could have been. Their relationship had its share of trials and tribulations, and they often found themselves at odds. Yet, even in the throes of their worst moments, Ruby remained convinced that their bond was unbreakable, a force of nature that was meant to be.

"Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street

Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly

Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free fall

Like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all."

However, Ruby's world crashed down when her love story ended abruptly. She was soaring high, reveling in the exhilarating rush of emotions, when he hit the brakes out of nowhere and left her stranded. The shock of it all left her alone, bewildered, and shattered. The pain of losing him was a shade of blue she had never known, like a dark, ominous cloud that refused to budge. A part of her seemed to have been ripped, leaving a gaping void that made her feel hollow and adrift. She felt lost, grappling with the question of how to move on and fill the emptiness he had left in her heart. As she soared through the free fall, Ruby realized it was too late to change her mind. Despite his absence, her heart still pined for him. Though she tried hard to move on, he frequently resurfaced in her thoughts, causing her heart to skip a beat each time.

"Losing him was blue like I'd never known

Missing him was dark gray, all alone

Forgetting him was like tryin' to know somebody you never met

But loving him was red

But loving him was red."

Ruby was engulfed in a mournful state of mind when she sat by the window, gazing blankly at the world outside. The absence of her beloved had left her feeling isolated, along with an indescribable emptiness that weighed heavily on her heart. The mere thought of him brought a dull gray hue to her surroundings as if the world had lost its vibrancy without him. She yearned for his infectious laughter, warm touch, and the comfort of his presence. It seemed impossible to erase him from her thoughts. He had left an indelible mark on her soul, and the memories of him continued to haunt her like a ghost from the past.

"Touching him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you

Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song

Fighting with him was like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there's no right answer

Regretting him was like wishing you never found out that love could be that strong

Losing him was blue like I'd never known

Missing him was dark gray, all alone

Forgetting him was like tryin' to know somebody you never met

But loving him was red

Oh, red

Burning red."

Ruby was shattered after they broke up. She had never felt such a profound love for someone before, and the pain of losing him was almost unbearable. Ruby spent countless hours replaying every moment leading up to their breakup, regretting everything that may have contributed to it. She wished she could go back to the past and change everything, but she knew that was impossible. Her heart ached for him, and she wondered if she would ever be able to love someone that deeply again.

"Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes

Tell myself it's time now, gotta let go

But moving on from him is impossible when I still see it all in my head

In burning red

Burning, it was red."

After years of clinging to her past love, Ruby finally realized she was holding herself back from experiencing all the good things life had to offer. She mustered up the courage to let go of her past and made a conscious decision to open her heart and mind to new possibilities. Despite its dauntingness, she took the leap of faith and slowly but confidently started feeling alive again. Ruby began to relish the present moment and anticipate the coming future with excitement and hopefulness. She wondered if love would ever grace her life again, and if it did, would it be better than the one she had lost?

"Oh, losing him was blue like I'd never known

Missing him was dark gray, all alone

Forgetting him was like tryin' to know somebody you never met

'Cause loving him was red

Yeah, yeah, red

Oh, burning red

And that's why he's spinning 'round in my head

Comes back to me, burning red

Yeah, yeah

His love was like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street."

Many years later, Ruby found herself sitting in a quaint coffee shop, lost in thought. She sat there, reminiscing about the days gone by and wondering what her ex-boyfriend, Adam, was up to these days. Just as she was about to snap out of her thoughts, she saw a familiar figure walking by the window. It was Adam.

As soon as their eyes met, Ruby felt a strange sensation in her chest. She felt like everything around her had stopped, and all that mattered was the person in front of her. Over coffee, they caught up on old times, and Ruby realized that she still had feelings for him. But she also knew it was not the right time to act on those feelings. She needed time to heal and to find herself again. The colors of her world seemed to change, too. The once dull and gray skies now appeared bright blue, and the vibrant red had faded into a soft pink. She had learned what true love meant, how to fight for what she wanted, and never take a moment for granted. Ruby was aware that the possibility of falling in love again existed but also knew the challenges that came with it. She knew that opening her heart to someone new could be a complicated process. She needed to be patient and take things slow because she did not want to rush into something and risk getting hurt again.
