Khushi examined a patient and taught a few exercises to improve her hand function. After sending the patient, she waited for the next one and was surprised to see Arnav at her clinic.

"Arnav? You here? At this time?" She looked at her watch.

He walked towards her and sat in front of her, perplexing her. He removed a few papers from his coat pocket and forwarded them to her. Khushi took it from him curiously and read it. She looked at him, dumbfounded. It was the judgment copy of Sheetal's case. Sheetal and Promod were sentenced to seven years for attempted murder.

"The judgement came?"

"Just a few hours ago"

Khushi sighed.

"You don't have to feel bad for them. They won't deserve your concern"

"I don't feel bad for them, but for my brother. Didn't you hear what Buaji said last time when she came to RM? Bhai and Bhabi's relationship is not fine like before"

"It can't be like before. How could your brother accept her wholeheartedly after discovering your Bhabi's true character? She spoiled your life and destroyed your character in their eyes. She is not a good woman. Then, how could your brother live with her, forgetting her deeds?"

Khushi came to him. Arnav stood up. She circled his bicep and leaned on his shoulder.

"However, she is his wife. If he doesn't accept her, he can't be happy. He should understand that for at least Shali"

"He doesn't show his hatred in front of Shali. He is careful in that matter. Only because of Shali is he still living with her. Otherwise, he would have thrown her out of his house long ago. He is handling her well. You don't have to worry about it"

"You don't know about my Bhabi, Arnav. What if she files a complaint against my bhai with the police?"

"She will never do it because she knows Shaym is her only support. She will lose her shelter if she takes such a drastic step"

"My Babuji called me"

Arnav pulled himself back and looked at her, surprised.

"When?"

"This morning, when I came to the clinic",

"What did he say?"

"He apologised... cried..."

"What did you say?"

"I said nothing. I didn't know what to say. He disconnected the call after talking to me. He didn't wait to hear me"

"He would have known you would not talk to him"

"I don't know what to do, Arnav"

"I agree he had made a blunder by not allowing you to talk. But, seeing his daughter in an unexpected condition, he might have lost his senses because he trusted you like anything. He soon analysed the issue and tried to talk to you, but you were not there and left the house. Everyone makes mistakes, Khushi. I don't ask you to forgive him. Forgiveness is a big thing. I don't know if he deserves it, but you deserve happiness. I don't want you to feel bad. Just throw it and be happy"

Khushi nodded.

"Ok, I'm going"

"Where are you going?"

"What question is this? I'm going to AR"

"No, let's go home"

"Home? So soon?"

"Haan... nowadays, your daughter is reacting too much. She is playing emotional dramas as if there is no tomorrow. I'm not getting time with you these days. See, one day I will lock your daughter in a room," she said, pouting, and Arnav laughed.

"Yeah, I'm thinking about complaining about her teacher to the Principal for making children emotional. She is not leaving my side...", Arnav said terrifically, and Khushi laughed.

"I think we should plan our second child, what do you say?"

"How will you console your daughter? She talks too much these days. Her mouth had grown to her ear length," Khushi said.

"After all, she is your daughter"

"Oh, really? She was not like that when she was with me. She changed only after she came to you. Don't forget that"

"This is a democratic country, Khushi. She has the right to talk about anything"

"Then, you manage your daughter. I'm done with her," She said wearily.

"Ok... if I made her agree to the next child, are you ready?"

"Will see"

Evening

Arnav planned how to get a YES from Aashi and waited. She came from the school a little frustrated.

"Baby, are you all right?"

"My friend Kajal is not well. Then how could I be well?"

"What happened to your friend Kajal?"

"She was crying all day"

"Why?"

"Our teacher scolded her because her little brother pissed on her notebook when she was doing her homework" she said making an angry face.

Arnav widened his eyes and looked at Khushi, who was controlling her laughter.

"Thank God, I have no brother..." she added.

"What was her parents doing when he pissed?"

Aashi thought for a while and said,

"They would have been busy with some other work"

"Yeah, but it will not happen in our house because we care for you and your notebooks. If your friend Kajal did her homework, sitting on the table, how could he did that?"

"Their house would not have a table..."

"Then, she could have done that somewhere else that was beyond her brother's reach"

Aashi became thoughtful.

"Her brother is a kid. He doesn't know what homework is, but your friend knows. Isn't she the one who should have been careful?"

Aashi nodded.

"Kajal and her parents are the responsible ones here, not the small boy who knows nothing about school, books, homework... am I right?"

Aashi nodded.

"If Shyam uncle had thought he didn't want a sister, would your mom have been born?"

Aashi nodded no, hurriedly.

"Just because a kid did something, we should not think all the little brothers will be the same"

"But her brother didn't care about her..."

Arnav and Khushi spared a glance.

"Who said he didn't care about her? He sent the persons to the prison who separated his sister from him"

"Is it?" She was excited.

"Yeah... he was so sorry for his mistake"

"Then why don't you have a brother or sister?" She asked, leaning on the couch, keeping her hand under her cheek.

"My father would have been busy with OTHER business instead of concentrating on it", he sighed.

Ratna, who came there with coffee, hit his shoulder and received a chuckle.

"Do you know how often I felt bad for not having a sister or brother?"

"Why?"

"It's not easy to be alone. We need someone for ourselves... not only to be loved, but also to fight,"

"Why should we fight?"

"We can't avoid fighting... It's a part of life and family; after every fight, we will learn something. Understand something. So, fighting is not bad, but continuing is..."

"That's why you too were not talking to Mom once?"

Arnav raised his brows in astonishment at her memory power. He nodded yes, concluding.

"Sisters and brothers are the best part of life. They fight with each other, but won't let anyone fight with us. They will stand by our side no matter what. They will fight for us"

Why don't I have a brother?" Finally, he got what he wanted.

Ratna stopped sipping the coffee, seeing Khushi suppressing her smile.

"Manipulation session?" She chuckled.

"Tell me, Dad"

"You will soon get a brother or sister"

"How?"

"Pray God, she will give you a brother or a sister", he said, making a serious face.

"No need, beta... You can ask your father," Ratna countered.

"Is it, Dad?"

"Of course... how could I disappoint my little princess?"

"What a father!" Ratna teased.

"When will you give me a brother?"

"Next year..."

"Why next year? Why not tomorrow?"

"Beta, brothers aren't unavailable on Amazon or Flipkart to deliver them tomorrow. It will take time"

"Dad, I saw my friend's mother's stomach was big. She said there is a baby. Will Mom's stomach also become big?"

Arnav sighed in relief.

"How clever you are! That's exactly what will happen"

"Does it hurt?"

Arnav caressed her hair and said,

"Said, it will..."

Aashi was supposed to say something, but he stopped and said,

"That's how you were also born."

"Did I hurt you?"

Khushi nodded no.

"But, Dad said, it hurts"

"A little... It's ok and that's how it works..."

Aashi sighed.

"Thank God, it hurts a LITTLE", she smiled.

The trio looked at each other and smiled. After all, she was a kid.

Khushi saw Arnav thinking about something.

"What are you thinking?" She sat next to him.

"Why should we think about another child when Aashi is there for us?"

"What happened to you? You were so curious to have another kid"

"It will hurt you..."

Khushi rolled her eyes, smiling.

"A little... it's ok..."

"I'm not Aashi to console with the answer"

"Arnav, I faced the pain when I had no one. Now, I have you. Then why should I bother?"

Arnav kissed her knuckle.

"I'm sorry..."

"Don't start again..."

"Don't you want me to START again?" he asked in a double meaning.

Khushi looked at him and chuckled. Arnav hugged her lovingly.
