Monster
My vision was foggy. I sat up in a cot. My right hand was chained to the frame. Derick was washing his hands in the bathroom of what seemed like an apartment. I shook my head out and my vision cleared out. Derick looked over at me and came back into the room. Ice and bandages encased my neck. I rubbed my neck and looked down. "I know about your little necklace. You'll lead Hydra straight to us. I removed it while you were unconscious." I yanked on the chain. "Let me out. I know you're torn. Give me to Hydra and live, or give me a chance to survive while you go on a suicide mission. They wouldn't ever let you leave if you attack them, and they'd kill me as soon as you turn me over. It's a simple choice. My life, or yours. Or, of course, let me go and they might spare you because I'm so powerful." He scowled and walked towards the door. "Stay there. I'll be back." I looked around. Nothing to pick the lock on my chain. I yanked as hard as I could and it tore. The chain broke down the middle and I ran to the door as Derick closed it behind him and locked it. I pounded on the door, hoping someone would hear me. Unfortunately, I couldn't hear anyone or their thoughts. My wings were tied behind me, so I couldn't open the window and fly out. I looked down and saw I was in an apartment building in the middle of nowhere. A group of men blew a hole in the wall. I braided my hair and waited for them to break the door so I could escape. They were surprisingly quick. I put my hands up and smirked. One of them came too close and I flipped his gun on the other men. I shot the men down, but one caught me in the stomach with a hard kick. I coughed up some blood and crumpled.

Fire surrounded me. A pillar had crushed my shoulder and a chunk of the roof had landed on my leg. I used my free arm to push away both of these. I limped out of the room and saw the soldiers who had also been crushed. I held my arm and winced. Flames crept up my arm and the skin started to seal. I cried out when my crushed bones and skin sealed up in correctly. I ripped a piece of cloth off of my tank top and tied it around my shoulder. A dead soldier's knife was sprawled out on the floor. I picked it up and cut a hole down my arm. I would either bleed out or heal. A Hydra team resembling the FBI stumbled and tripped over the crumbling staircase. They were clearly amateurs at killing someone. "H-how are you not dead?" One of them shakily asked. I started laughing hysterically. "Haven't your parents ever told you not to play with fire?" The flames grew more powerful. They danced and flickered onto the soldiers, causing them to scream. I limped down the stairs and out of the building. It started collapsing, so I started one of their cars and drove towards the base.

The rear window shattered. I leaned forward to dodge the bullets around me. Just so you know, in my experience, it's extremely hard to drive while dodging bullets with an arm and leg that probably needed amputated. I dared to glance behind me and paid the price of crashing into a tree. My head slammed against the wheel and I passed out.

Some time later
She laid on the table, covered in blood and bandages. The operation was complete. Below her knee and her whole shoulder down were now made of metal. The didn't possess any extra abilities besides being fireproof and waterproof. She had plenty of abilities.
I knew what had happened. My calf and whole left arm were completely wrecked, beyond repair. Hydra had cut them off and replaced them with metal. I could read the minds of the scientists around me. It was bad.
But after all, I was a phoenix.
