Part 32 Utter Change
Arnav was driving the car furiously. How dare she go leaving him! Even after what happened between them, won't she be controlled? He thought she won't go against him if they start their married life but this girl is making him fuss. He annoyed.
That's when his phone rang. He rolled his eyes, seeing MOM flashing. That's when something kicked his mind. Damn... this is the only day he never forgets to call her... that is Ratna's Birthday. Arnav used to call her in the morning immediately after waking up. Today he forgot to call her in his wife's nearness. He attended the call.
"Happy Birthday, Mom" he wished her.
"This is not done Chotte. I have been waiting for your call since 5'o clock. This is the only day you remember me... today, that too is gone" she said disappointedly.
Arnav thought something and said,
"Don't blame me but your daughter-in-law..." he said intentionally.
"What does she do with this?" Ratna was really confused.
"She is the one who made me forget you"
Ratna was silent what is he talking about? He already fought with her not to interfere in their matter. She didn't know whether she should ask him about it or not.
"Mom... why are you silent? I'm talking about an important matter and you are silent... Be responsible..." he literally teased her.
Ratna was like, From when Arnav started talking tasingly?
"Chotte... I really don't know what to do... what if you scold me for interfering in your personal matter?" she didn't say that for teasing.
"You can't interfere with my personal matter anymore. I have made my way..."
"Made your way? What does that mean?"
"Leave it... you can't understand..."
"Chotte, Chotte, tell me how Khushi made you forget my birthday," she asked could not hold herself.
"We slept late last night..." he said without hesitating.
Ratna got stuck for a few seconds.
"Were you guys busy with your office work?" she asked composing herself.
Arnav rolled his eyes.
"We were busy with each other," he said smirking.
Ratna hiccupped. Is that true or he was telling this with any intention?
"Ok, tell me, what do you want, granddaughter or grandson?" he asked, seriously.
That was the big blow to Ratna. Is it really Arnav talking?
"Are you going to ADOPT a child or what?" she asked unbelievably yet teasingly.
"Ask your dear Bahu whether we are going to adopt..."
"Chotte... you know, you should not talk to your mother like this," she said controlling her joy.
"Oh, really? A woman asked her daughter-in-law to show PROGRESS in her wedding life. I just am doing that. is this progress enough or...?"
"Chotte, please call me after ten minutes and check whether I'm alright... I may get a heart attack"
"Don't worry. You will live long with your grandchildren. Dad will get retired in two years. Com to Mumbai and be happy with your grandchildren"
Though Ratna could not believe that stance made Ratna emotional. Arnav is talking not only about children but also about their future. She never expected Arnav wanted them to be with him.
"This is the best ever birthday of my life Chotte... Love you so much" she said emotionally.
"Take care" he disconnected the call smirking.
Ratna hugged her phone with happy tears.

Khushi came to her cubicle and sat on the seat. She received a call from Ratna and attended it smilingly.
"Hello, aunty... how are you?" She asked as usual.
"I'm upset with you," Ratna said with a fake disappointment.
"With me? What do I do?" Khushi asked could not understand.
"Today is my birthday..."
Cutting her,
"Is it? Happy birthday aunty... I'm sorry, I don't know today is your birthday. That's why I didn't wish you" She apologized genuinely.
"I'm not upset with you for that reason..."
"Then?" She frowned.
"This is the only day Chotte always wishes me. He never misses calling me on my birthday. But, today he has forgotten... and he said, you are the one who made him forget my birthday" she said controlling her laughter.
Khushi closed her eyes tight. What the... did he really say about THAT to his mom? Damn this Raizada... she bit her lip.
"Khushi... are you there?" Ratna asked seriously.
"Jee... aunty"
"Why are you silent?"
"Oh... I..."
"He asked me about something unbelievable..." she said without giving clue.
"Something?" Khushi was curious.
"He asked me whether I want granddaughter or grandson"
Khushi dropped her jaw and blushed, closing her eyes.
"Did you really make him flat, Khushi? "Ratna asked her chuckling.
"I didn't... he was the one who made me flat," she said blushing.
"Is it? I can't believe this" she said unbelievably.
"Neither me..." she pouted.
"I'm happy that you guys patched up"
"We haven't patched up yet. You know I'm upset with him" she chuckled.
"Whaaaat? Then how did IT happen? "
"That's what your son is... he thinks he can arrest me physically" Khushi smiled softly.
Ratna somewhat understood the real issue.
"I'm sorry, beta," she said with regret.
"Don't be sorry, aunty... I will take care of him"
"You are so sweet..."
"He is a kid, aunty... he doesn't even know how to make a woman feel better. He doesn't have any idea that what makes a woman secure. That's why I'm letting him do what he wants... that's why I'm pretending like I'm not giving heed to his actions. You are not less than my mother... that's why I'm telling you everything openly"
"Is he troubling you a lot? "
"No aunty... I don't think so... we know he never mingled with anyone... not even talking with anyone forget about mingling. That's why he can't understand what can make a woman happy. It's my responsibility to make him understand that... Being his wife, ONLY I can do it... and you have no idea how happy I'm. I'm enjoying his company a lot... and you are right... he is damn possessive..."
"Didn't I say? " Ratna smiled with satisfaction.
Through the glass door, Khushi saw Arnav entering the office.
"Aunty, Kadoos is coming... I think he will fight with me for not taking a lift in his car... I will talk to you later"
"Ok, beta... see you"
Khushi disconnected the call and turned her computer ON. As she expected, Arnav came to her cubicle.
"Why did you run away? Didn't I say we will come to the office together? " he asked.
"I think it's not necessary, "she said not looking at him.
"Why?"
"People will get to know that I'm your wife"
"So what? Let them get to know"
"But..."
"Today evening you are going to come with me. understand...?"
She pouted with anger.
"Don't forget what has happened between us last night..."
"Did you do that to control me?" she asked with an angry pout.
"I didn't say so... I touched you with my full sense... I relished each and every touch. And, I'm waiting to touch you again... that's why I treated you with the ointment and healed the pain" he said without hesitating.
Khushi was suffocating like hell. Arnav left her cabin smirking. Khushi smiled biting her lip.
After the lunch break, NK came to Khushi's cubicle. Arnav saw him talking to Khushi which irked him. more to his annoyance, Khushi smiled at him. How dare she...!
Taking his mobile, Arnav called Khushi. She saw his name and ignored the call as she was discussing their next project. NK went off her cabin. Arnav again called her. Khushi attended it. before she talked,
"Why didn't you attend my call?" he asked, heating up.
"I was discussing with NK about our next project," she said the truth.
"So what? I told you not to talk to him" he asked angrily.
"I said we discussed officially... and... you don't have to tell me with whom I should talk... understand?" she disconnected the call.
Arnav bit his teeth and stood from the seat. He stormed to her cubicle. Khushi was horrified, seeing him wrathful.
"What did you say?" he asked.
Khushi gulped down.
"Answer me, damn it..." he yelled.
The office became pin-drop silent and everyone's eyes were on them. They were shocked, seeing Arnav shouting for the first time. That too he was shouting at Khushi with anger. What happed that he is angry with her?
"All are looking at us," she said in a feeble tone.
"Let them see... why would I care about people?" he said louder than before.
NK who was in Akash's cubicle heard him. They spared a glance and came to Khushi's cabin.
"What happened Nannav? Why are you shouting at Khushi?" NK asked.
"You just stay away from this...ok?" Arnav sneered.
NK was taken aback, seeing his wrath.
"This is the office, Arnav..." Akash said.
Cutting him,
"But she is my WIFE" he broke the biggest EGG, giving shock to not only Khushi but also to every staff of AM. Arnav didn't hesitate to say who Khushi is to him.
