The Apprenticeship

Chapter Four

olimpiaa

The afternoon was hectic. Everyone was trying to get organized, the crew was setting up the stage, the band were running rehearsals and I was just stood around admiring their sound.

The band are on the stage doing a run through the choreography and I'm setting up all my makeup and hair products backstage.

The door opens from behind me, and someone walks in.

"Hey Tam." A female voice says.

I turn around and see Esther with her hair up in a high bun.

"Hi Essy." I reply with a small smile.

"How you getting on so far?"

"Kinda nervous that I'm gonna mess up."

And you're embarrassed and don't wanna face Scott.

"Don't worry about it, Kim is here to help and supervise you. Give me or her a shout if you need anything." Esther smiles before turning around in the doorway and heading out.

I take in a deep breath and exhale, running a hand through my dyed hair and smooth out my red flannel.

Kirstie walks into the dressing room and takes the seat in front of the big mirror.

I take a deep breath an reach for the foundation and foundation brush. Pouring the Nars foundation onto the back of my hand, Kirstie speaks up.

"Tam, you okay?" She asks.

"I'm good, just a little nervous."

"You'll do great." She smiles at me and I get to work on applying the foundation to her flawless skin.

I finish off the look with lipstick and Kirstie grins.

"Oh my goodness, it looks so perfect." She squeals before sitting back down so I can do her hair.

Two arms wrap around my waist minutes after I finish doing Kirstie's hair and she leaves to get dressed or something.

I turn around and see Mitch grinning.

"How's you and Scottie boy?" He teases.

"There's nothing between us, okay? I haven't broken up with Ollie properly yet." I say.

"But you have something for Scott. I can see it in your eyes."

"I do not have anything for Scott. He's my friend."

"Bestfriend from high school."

"Still. It doesn't change the fact that we're only friends. Alright?"

"Alright. It's my turn for makeup now." He sits himself in the chair Kirstie was sat in minutes before.

I roll my eyes and stand in front of him, placing small amounts of concealer under his eyes and other small and very few blemishes.

As I put more texture into his hair, he is typing away on his phone. I try my best not to peak, but my eyes dare to take a glance and notice he is speaking to Scott.

Ignore the fact that he's talking to Scott and carry on working on his hair. I try and get the image of Scott out of my head, but in that moment someone place their hands on my shoulders.

I jump, slightly messing up Mitch's hair.

"Oh my god! Who the f-" I turn around and am faced with a tall blond guy.

"Hey Tammy," Scott grins.

For gods sake. Why do I have to face him now?

"H-hi Scott," I stutter.

I never stutter. Not in front of Scott. Fuck.

Scott moves around to rest his bum on the edge of the makeup table, looking at both me and Mitch.

I carry on working on Mitch's hair, fixing it up. He and Scott are typing away on their phones, but look up to smirk at each other.

As Mitch types away on him phone, my eyes dare to peak again.

To blond noodle: you are taking her on a date whether you and her like it or not!!

A/N; hi guys. Sorry this hasn't been updated but I've lost motivation for writing lately.

Also my eyes are a bit messed up and hurt a lot when I look at electronics but I'm going to the opticians #soon so I hope to get better.
