39 Degrading Plan
Part 39 Degrading Plan
In the meantime,
Madhavi saw Arnav going somewhere. She decided to use the chance. She could not implement her plan if Arnav had been at the Palace. This was the right time to do it. So, she came to Khushi's room. Khushi stood up from the bed, seeing her. She could not conclude why Madhavi was there.
"Could you help me, Khushi?" Madhavi asked, smiling politely, which perplexed Khushi.
"Me? What help do you want me to do?"
"My cupboard is so messy. Could you help me rearrange it?" She asked pleadingly.
Khushi nodded.
"I would have taken someone's help, but I can't let anyone handle the closet, which has expensive things. That's why I call you, Madhavi. She buttered her up.
Khushi smiled. Madhavi took Khushi to her room. Khushi saw Madhavi's things on the bed. It seemed that Madhavi had already taken everything out of the closet. Yes, the closet was empty. Khushi started folding them.
"Sit on the bed and fold it, Khushi. How long will you be standing?" Madhavi surprised Khushi.
Khushi sat at the corner of the bed and folded the clothes. Then, she arranged them neatly in the cupboard.
Pouring orange juice into a glass, Madhavi extended it to Khushi, making her thunderstruck. Was that Madhavi? She nodded no.
"Have it, Khushi... why are you hesitating? It's me who gives you"
"No, thanks", Khushi denied.
That was when Madhavi's mother, Savithri, came there.
"What are you doing here?" She asked Khushi.
"My cupboard was messed up. So, I asked Khushi's help," Madhavi answered.
"Help? You can order her. After all, she is a maid," Savithri said with an attitude.
"Mom, if you can't respect her, please don't degrade her. Khushi is a nice girl. We should respect her." Madhavi said, making Savithri perplexed and Khushi dumbfounded.
"I finished arranging. I'm leaving..." Khushi left the place in confusion.
Khushi didn't know why Madhavi had suddenly started behaving with respect. Her behaviour confused Khushi because she knew Madhavi's nature. She noticed Madhavi kept an eye on Arnav and tried to get close to him. Madhavi never liked her and always took every opportunity to make her feel bad. Then, why did she support her today? That too, she defended herself from her mother. What would be the reason? Khushi could not take it easily. Madhavi was not a girl who respected others, nor those from low-class backgrounds.
She was thinking about Madhavi with a sense of nervousness. She didn't know what was cooking in her mind.
.........
Arnav and Arvind returned home. Madhavi, who waited for them, shouted.
"Oh, my God... what will I do now? To whom will I complain? I can't believe this Palace is not a safer zone. I can't believe our things can be stolen here," She said in a high-pitched tone as if she was horrified.
Arvind and Arnav spared a glance. Arvind headed to his room, and Arnav followed him to find out what the matter was.
"What's happening here?" Arvind asked.
"Uncle, my diamond necklace is missing..." She said restlessly.
"Where will it go? Search carefully..." Arvind said.
"Uncle, I've been searching for it for the past hour... It's not here..." she said, feeling sad.
At the same time, Madhavi's mother, Savithri, came there and listened to them.
"What necklace are you talking about?" She asked.
"The one Dad gifted me for my birthday"
"Oh, my god... It's fifty lakhs. How could you be so careless? Don't you know it's worth?"
"Mom, I'm not careless. Don't you know me? I was keeping it in the locker only"
"You might have kept it in the locker, but letting everyone enter your room... This is why I warned not to do that, Savithri said.
"Who entered your room?" Arvind asked.
"Uncle, it's not a big deal. Just leave it, Madhavi said as if she didn't want to create a scene.
"Answer my question", Arvind asked.
"Uncle, without knowing anything correctly, we should not blame anyone. Please, leave it. I will search for it"
"I don't ask for your explanation but your answer..."
"Why are you hesitating? Tell him it's Khushi who came to your room"
Arvind was horrified, but Arnav gritted his teeth in anger.
"Do you say Khushi took it?" Arnav sneered.
"She was the one who arranged Madhavi's cupboard an hour ago, and now her necklace is missing. What does it mean?" Savithri asked.
"It means she should have misplaced it. Search for it, opening your eyes widely," Arnav said, gritting his teeth.
"Why are you getting angry, Arnav? She is a maid after all... When she saw a Diamond necklace, she should have desired it. She is a common human being after all."
Before Arnav said anything, Madhavi took the lead.
"Amma, don't accuse anyone without proof. I know Khushi. She is not such a girl. She has values. Otherwise, Uncle Arvind would not have given her a place in his Palace and his heart. She won't break his trust"
"How could we know how loyal she is until her room is examined?" Savithri snapped.
"Noooo... I won't allow anyone to examine her room. She would not have taken it," Arnav yelled.
Khushi, who came there, listened to them. She looked at Madhavi, who showed a fake concern on her face.
"See, she is here. Ask her if she..."
Cutting Savithri,
"Khushi, you go..." Arnav got heated up.
"Wait Arnav..." Arvind said.
"Why should I wait?" Arnav asked furiously.
"Do you trust me?"
Arnav rolled his eyes.
"Khushi, did you help Madhavi to arrange her cupboard?"
Khushi nodded yes.
"Why did you do that? Didn't I say not to obey anyone other than me?"
"She didn't order me, but requested me, uncle. That's why I helped her. She treated me well." Khushi said, and Madhavi smiled nicely.
"Now also I'm not accusing her, uncle... It's my Amma..." Madhavi said, looking at Savithri.
Chandra Murthy and Krishna Murthy, along with their family, gathered there.
"What's the problem?"
"Didn't you gift Madhu a diamond necklace? It's missing..." Savithri growled.
"Whaaaat? Do you know what it's worth? It's fifty lakhs," Chandra Murthy said, horrified.
"Dad, give me some time. I will search for it. It will be in my room only," Madhavi said.
"How will it be in her room? She already searched it for more than an hour... It's nowhere in her room," Savithri said.
"Who came to your room?" Chandra Murthy asked.
"Khushi was the one who arranged her closet"
All of them looked at Khushi, who gulped down.
"Go and check her room", Chandra Murthy said.
"Don't you dare... I don't know what I will do if anyone steps into her room," Arnav roared.
"Arnav, we lost a diamond necklace, and you want us to be quiet?"
"I don't ask you to be quiet. Search for where she lost it instead of degrading others"
"If she had not taken the necklace, why would you bother? Let us check her room. Then, everything will be cleared..."
"I know Khushi. I don't want to prove it to others"
"If you are so confident, why do you fear?"
"Fear? It's not fear but respect..."
"You can save her respect firmly if the diamond necklace is not found in her room..."
Arnav was supposed to say something, but stopped by Khushi.
"Arnav sir... let them check my room"
"What the hell... have you lost your mind, Khushi?"
"No, Arnav sir. They are suspecting me. It's not good to go on without solving the problem. It will keep bothering me. I can't look at their faces if they are not cleared. Please don't stop them. Let them check my room"
Khushi looked at Arvind and said,
"Uncle, ask them to check my room"
"It's not necessary, Khushi"
"Please, uncle"
Arvind sighed.
Khushi looked at Savithri and said.
"You can search it in my room"
They went to her room and searched it for the diamond necklace, except for Madhavi and Lalitha. Arnav stared at Khushi, not liking what was happening.
They made the room upside down, but the necklace was not there. When her mother lifted the mattress, Madhavi's face changed because she had hidden the diamond necklace under it. That was her plan. She thought no one would doubt her if she faked respect in front of everyone, after keeping the necklace in Khushi's room. But, where was the necklace? Madhavi was horrified. Where was her necklace worth fifty lakhs? She gulped down hard, and Khushi smirked at the expression.
To be continued...
