Part 64 What was that?

Everyone was stunned, hearing Ratna's order. She looked with her head up, majestically.

"Ratna..." Chandra Murthy tried to say something.

Ratna stopped him by showing her palm.

"Enough... you talked too much. From here on, you are not allowed to talk until you are proven innocent." Her voice was strict.

"How could we prove ourselves if we are not allowed to talk?" Krishna Murthy questioned.

"You don't need to prove yourselves. The accounts will do that. If you cooperate with us, you will be treated nicely. Don't force us to do something unpleasant." She warned and walked, leaving everyone present there speechless.

Arvind called his squad.

"Take them to their respective rooms and lock them. Make sure they don't come out and meet one another. Seize their phones and disconnect the intercom in their rooms"

The head of the squad bowed and advanced them to take them to their rooms.

"Mama, this is not done..." Krishna Murthy shouted.

"Feel happy, I'm still allowing you to stay in your room with all the facilities"

He looked at the head and gestured to him. They took the Murthy brothers to their rooms.

Arnav and Sathya Naryana were shocked by Ratna's daring and straightforward action. Even Khushi was shaken, as she had never witnessed it before. Arvind smiled at them.

"I didn't expect Amma would be so brave", it was clear that Arnav was shocked.

"This is not a matter of bravery, but about loyalty. She wants everyone to be right. She respects such people, but if anyone betrays her, she won't forgive them," Arvind said.

"Thank you for your help", Arnav thanked Sathya Narayana.

"No, Arnav. I didn't do it for you, but for me. To satisfy my ego. I have been waiting for this day for so long"

Arvind was embarrassed, hearing that. He knew why Sathya Narayana had a grudge in his heart for the Murthy Brothers.

"Be careful. They are so dangerous. To save themselves, they will even kill anyone..." Sathya Narayana warned Arvind. Arvind nodded.

"I'm leaving. I'll always be there for you. You can call me anytime," Sathya Narayana assured.

"Sure. Thank you,"

Sathya Narayana looked at Arnav and said,

"I'm leaving"

Arnav nodded. He left the palace with Kandan.

"I'm also leaving", Pasupathi said.

"Thank you so much, Pasupathi"

"It's my duty...bye"

"Bye"

"Appa, Amma would be distraught. Talk to her," Arnav said.

Arvind nodded and went to their room. Arnav looked at Khushi, who had not come out of the shock. Arnav tapped her nose, smiling.

"What happened?"

"I can't believe Ratna aunty took such a decision... isn't she an iron lady?" She said, blinking her eyes rapidly.

"Indeed... finally, they got their punishment"

"They would be furious like hell", Khushi said fearfully.

"Let them be... what can they do? They have no source to make any move" Arnav was confident.

"Hope so"

"What do you mean, hope so?"

"They knew Ratna aunty. They would have been ready to handle the situation differently if they had expected her to do something like this. They might have created a source to face it," Khushi said thoughtfully.

Arnav became attentive. Khushi was right. Though the possibilities were fewer, he could not ignore them.

"Arnav, sis, go and repair the ring you got in the Kala Bairava Temple", Khushi insisted.

"Why are you so interested in the ring?"

"Whatever happens in this village has a reason. So is the ring."

"Khushi, what could be the reason for me to get a mere ring?"

"Mere ring? Arnav sir, you got the ring in the Kala Bairava Temple. When I used the ring, I had a nightmare. I'm sure the ring has a purpose..."

"Ok, ok... I will get it repaired if you accompany me," he demanded.

"Where?"

"To the shop... where else?"

Khushi sighed.

"Ok, let's go"

"Now?"

"Yes... why? Do you have any work?"

"I don't mind any work if you are with me"

"Arnav sir, know your responsibility. You are going to be King..." She remembered his duty.

"Why should I bother when I have a responsible Queen?"

"Is it? Who is she?" She teased.

Arnav glared at her.

"Okay, okay. Stop glaring at me. Let's go..." She held his hand and pulled him, but Arnav didn't move and stood firmly.

Khushi joined her hands and said,

"I'm sorry... I will not tease you... ok?"

"Who is my Queen?"

"It's me... happy?"

"Double happy..."

Arnav walked with her, smiling. Arnav was supposed to take the car, but he stopped hearing Khushi.

"It's walkable distance only... let's walk"

"Is it? Let's go..." He happily walked with her. He always liked walking with her because their friendship started that way, and they shared many things that day. He probably knew they could not walk casually on the road, like they were doing after their incarnation. Khushi noticed Arnav smiling all the way to the shop.

"It seems someone is delighted?" Khushi asked.

"Why not? Ratna Amma rocked...that was least expected. I didn't know she would be a woman of morals," he said, relieved.

"Yes, she is..."

"I was scared about her stand because it would have affected Appa if she had been less firm. He would have struggled to make any decision against her. Now, we have no such problem. I will marry you happily"

"But, I'm still nervous"

"Why?"

"Didn't Ghorakar say we would face many problems before marriage?"

"We already faced, I suppose..."

"No... we just faced opposition. Ratna aunty cleared it too... we should be ready for anything"

"Do you think so?"

"Mmm..."

"If it is so, I have been ready to face anything, from my previous birth... don't forget it"

"Mmm..."

They came to the shop, but to their disappointment, it was closed. They looked at each other and sighed. There was a board that indicated, 'Today, the shop will not work'

Khushi looked at Arnav, making a sad face.

"Sorry, Arnav sir, I don't know if it would be closed today"

"There is nothing to get worried. We will come tomorrow..."

"Mmmm" They again started walking towards the Palace.

They saw a big Vilva tree on the way. Its shadow was so pleasant.

"Let's sit for a while", Arnav said.

"Are your legs aching?" Khushi asked with concern.

"No... just feel like sitting here"

"Ok..."

They sat under the tree.

"Do you know, Arnav sir, Vilva Trees are the best air purifier?"

"Is it?"

"Yes, not only trees but every plant related to the Gods has medicinal values, like Neem Tree, Vilva Tree, Tulsi Plant, Peeple Tree..."

That was when Arnav realised it.

"Isn't it?"

"Mmm..."

Arnav removed the ring from his shirt pocket and looked at it.

"It's a tiny strip..." he said, caressing it.

"I think it can be shaped by me too..." Arnav said.

"You? Really? How will you do it?" Khushi asked.

Arnav looked around. He found a granite stone near him. He scratched the ring on the stone, and in no time, the stone started bleeding, horrifying both of them.

To be continued...
