It was 4 AM, and the city was asleep. The streets were quiet. The only sounds were the occasional car passing by and the distant hum of the city's nightlife. Penelope found herself wandering aimlessly, trying to clear my head. She had been feeling lost lately and needed to escape the chaos of her life.

While strolling the street, she heard a familiar voice calling her name. It was a voice that she hadn't heard in a while but one that she still recognized. Penelope turned to see him standing there, looking as handsome as ever. It was like time had stood still since the last time they saw each other.

"Don't you think I'll come around and try to hunt you down?" he said with a sly smile.

Penelope couldn't help but smile back. "It's been a while since I saw your face," she replied, using words from '4 AM' by Ea Kaya, the song playing in her head. It was not a random choice. This song was their favorite one while dating together last year.

"4 AM, don't wanna know

Who you're with and where you wanna go

It's been a while, I saw your face

No surprise I found you in this place

Don't you think that I, I'll come around

And try to hunt you down?

It's 4 AM, I don't wanna know."

They spent the rest of the night catching up, reminiscing, and talking about their hopes and dreams for the future. For a moment, it felt like nothing else mattered in the world. It was just the two of them, lost in their little bubble.

As the sun started rising, they knew that it was time to say goodbye. It was bittersweet, but Penelope knew they couldn't stay in this moment forever. They exchanged their new numbers and promised to keep in touch.

"It's 4 AM, I don't wanna know," She said, quoting the song again before they parted.

He smiled and hugged her. "Who you're with and where you wanna go doesn't matter. What matters is that we found each other again," he replied.

As they parted ways, a sense of relief washed over them. The weight of their worries had lifted ever so slightly, and a spark of optimism lit within their hearts. They took a deep breath, feeling renewed purpose and determination as they walked their separate paths.

One evening in the next week, they reunited at a hidden bar. Penelope had been longing to tell him how she felt for a long time. However, she would get nervous whenever she tried to say something. Thus, she often ended up without saying a single word. But tonight was different. It was 4 AM, and they left the bar. They were alone, and the mood was right. She decided that she was going to take a chance and finally tell him about her feelings.

"Say what you wanna say now, say now," she sang as they swayed to the music.

"I'm listening," the guy replied, looking deep into her eyes.

"I've been wanting to tell you for a while now that I have feelings for you," she confessed.

He looked surprised but did not say anything.

"But when I got you on my own, I'll shut your mouth," she continued while feeling emboldened.

He raised an eyebrow, "Is that so?"

"Yes. Shut your mouth and lay me down beside you now," Penelope sang, feeling more confident with every word. She must have been drunk!

He pulled her closer, his eyes never leaving hers. "I want you to see me," he said softly.

"Shut your mouth, don't say a word. I've heard enough. Don't let me down," Penelope sang.

He smiled. "I want you to need me," he replied.

And with that, they kissed, just like they used to. The song '4 AM' always gave them the mood they needed to be bolder with each other. It was a moment that neither of them would ever forget. Finally, they could express how they felt about each other, and it was everything they had both wished for and more.

"Say what you wanna say now, say now

But when I got you on my own, I'll

Shut your mouth

Shut your mouth and lay me down beside you now

I want you to see me

Shut your mouth

Don't say a word, I've heard enough, don't let me down

I want you to need me."

Then, he touched her lips again, and her feeling up was their unspoken agreement. They both knew that they couldn't resist each other's touch. It was like a magnetic pull that they couldn't ignore. Things went on like that for weeks until his sudden disappearance. Penelope went crazy. It had happened again! It was just like how he had done it before. She had it enough! This time, Penelope was sure she would not try to find him or the reason he left her again.

"I touch your lips, you feeling up

Gonna heavy as some smoke in your lungs

'Cause that cologne was all in vain

It's 4 AM and here you are again

Don't you wonder why

I haven't come around to hunt you down?

It's 4 AM and that's all we know."

However, she kept the habit of strolling in the darkness. She even took the night shift to do so easier. Perhaps she liked the feeling of the night's cold and moonlight touching her skin. It made her feel better and love herself instead of thinking about him, which was good for her now.

Her nights passed by like that, yet tonight was different. It was 4 AM, and here he was again. He was standing before her. Penelope couldn't help but wonder why he came back.

She wondered, "Is it because of me, or is it just a habit he couldn't break?"

Penelope looked at him, taking in his scent. "That cologne was all in vain," she thought to herself. It didn't change that they were both here, in the same place, at the same time, once again.

They stood there in silence, the heavy feeling of smoke popping up in their lungs. It was like the weight of their unspoken words was suffocating them.

"Don't you wonder why I haven't come around to hunt you down?" He finally asked, breaking the silence.

She looked at him, her eyes searching his. She replied gently, "I do wonder. But I think it's because we all know we can't resist each other. It's like we're addicted to each other's touch."

He nodded, knowing that she was right. It seemed like they were in a never-ending cycle, unable to break free from each other's hold.

"It's 4 AM, and that's all we know," he said, quoting the lyrics of their favorite song.

Penelope smiled, feeling a sense of comfort in his words. It was like he understood her in a way no one else could.

They spent the rest of the night talking, laughing, and holding each other's hands. They seemed lost in their little world, oblivious to everything else.

As the sun rose, they both knew it was time to say goodbye. But this time, it felt different. It was like they had finally found the closure that they both needed.

They exchanged a final embrace, and he whispered in Penelope's ear, "I'll always remember the way you touched my lips."

And with that, he was gone. But Penelope knew he would be back and was okay with that. Because in the end, it was the moments like these that made everything else worth it. She even thought of finding out what would happen the next time they met. Maybe they would know what was waiting for them after 5 AM.
